Once we'd gotten to school, I'd settled in to my new dorm, and changed into some black skinny's and my old camp Jupiter t-shirt (sorry CHB, orange Isn't really my colour) I tried calling Will. His phone went straight to voicemail and so I assumed he was working. So I texted him and went off to the library, which seemed to be the place were most. people were chilling. I walked in and almost every eye in the common room met me silence shuddered through the room and I could feel people staring. I wanted to run, but instead I took a deep breath, puffed my chest out and walked to one or the empty arm chairs and pulled out my book. But I couldn't settle I could feel them all still looking.
"Hey, mind if I sit?" There was a short, thin girl with long blond hair standing to my left. Her voice has an American hint and her face looked kind. I nodded at the chair that sat empty next to mine.
"Not at all" I replied, she smiled and then looked around the room, her visage angry and her brows furrowed
"Come guys! Get talking!" She yelled and it worked, the entire room burst pinto conversation "sorry about them, they are very nosy!" She extended her hand
"It's fine, I'm used to not fitting in." I took it
"Well, I'm sure you'll fit in here! I'm Glen Bell, pro gamer!" She winked at me
"Nico di Angleo. It's nice to finally meet someone who doesn't want to kill me!" She laughed and nodded
"Guess your the kid Ge was bragging about, hey?" I nodded
"Hey!" She asked, taking my hand "do you want to be best friends?" I looked up at her and nodded slowly
"More than anything!" And suddenly she was hugging me.
"Mr. di Angelo?" Someone coughed above me, Glen sprung up, hands behind her back and her head bowed
"Good evening, Mistress" her voice became robotic and with her sudden change of character I got up too and bowed my head to the old woman standing in front of me
"Would you care to come with me, sir?" I nodded and she lead me out of the common room. I looked back at Glen and she nodded quickly, but with a frightened look on her face.

"Mr di Angleo!" She began, once we were seated comfortably in her office "my name is Dr. Cloud, I'm the headmistress of this establishment, and it is customary for me to welcome any new comers." She smiled, which seemed to radically change her face, from cold and stony to warm and loving. It was strange, I already had my doubts about her.
"Well thank you for taking me in at such short notice." I retuned the smile
"Nonsense, it was a pleasure to welcome such a gifted student to our ranks. Now I must share this information with you for your own safety, but this school is very unique and caters to a very special selection of students." She paused in order to let me think
"Special, mistress?" I asked, already regretting being here
"Yes, the students here are gifted in more ways that simply academic. They have, in a matter of words, powers. These gifts or powers can often be very dangerous, and must be controlled. We helped the children here control their powers and use them in ways that enable them to return to the world. It seems your parents have sent you here in order to try and control your ability. I am aware of your specifications and to what extremes your gifts reach." It was too much. This woman, who may even be a monster knows about my powers, about my dad? And there were people here like me? What was this place, and why was I here?
"I can understand that this must all be very confusing for you but I will leave you in the more than capable hands of your room mate, Geoffrey Parker" as if on queue, Geoffrey entered the office. He gave me a genuine smile and then nodded to Dr. Cloud "he will make sure you know were your classes are and what we do here I think you two will get on very well."
