The weekend was one of the best Nico had ever spent. The bed was comfortable, the food was amazing; and so were Wills family. It seemed a shame to be leaving so soon but Lila didn't let them leave empty handed.
"Oh please take the chocolate brownies! We won't eat them and they'll be far better with you on your way back to Long Island!" Delilah said, shoving a large box of beautifully packaged brownies
"But Lila! I honestly can't eat another thing. I must have put on at least 10 pounds!" She only laughed at Nico's remark and looped her arm through his handing him the brownies he would inevitably eat on their drive home
"Oh honey! Not that we can tell, you have such a fantastic figure!" He laughed at that and they walked to the car. Lila had become an art mother to Nico during the weekend, and he willingly accepted. Nico still missed his mother and despite the very obvious character differences between the two women, Nico still loved Lila like a mother. She was warm and welcoming and a generally wonderful lady. But best of all she didn't judge. All his life Nico had been judged for who his father was, for his powers, for the way he looked and now for his sexuality. But Delilah didn't seem to care who or what he was. Nico felt the way he had when Will had first told him that he loved him. The whole speech still burned in Nico's mind,

'Nico, don't you get it! I don't care if you are gay or if your the son of hades! You are brilliant and I couldn't ask for more in a friend. Heck, I wouldn't ask for more if you were my boyfriend!'

That's was also when Will and Nico had their first kiss.
"Nico, I hope to see you again soon. Do come again, won't you?" She whispers to him, as they hugged goodbye. That's when Delilah did something wonderful, she kissed Nico's cheek as they pulled away from each other
"I will miss you!" She said as he got into the car, her hand stayed in his arm and her eyes focused on Nico's until Will came over and hugged her goodbye. Nico looked forward to make sure the Winter-burrows and Will didn't see the tears in his eyes. His eyes met the hollow sockets that belonged to his undead driver, Jules-Albert.
The chauffeur nodded once and moved his creaky jawbone, which to anyone else would have been only a horrible creak. But Nico had been with him for years and they had a sort of language,
"Soooooo, anything...romantic...happen during the weekend?" J-A asked in his own way and Nico just scoffed at him
"Oh get over yourself! I was at his parents house! Like I would get it on with him here, of all places!" Nico replied in Italian, rolling his eyes.
"Well by all means, don't hold back in that back seat! My eyes are on the road!" The driver creaked. Nico was outraged, he always knew Jules-Albert had a sassy side but this had crossed the line.
"JULES-ALBERT!" Nico whisper shouted "I have standards!" Nico said in Italian
"Don't lie to be Nico di Angelo! I know what you and that boyfriend of yours get up to, and despite sitting a few meters in front of you your whole life, I know you better than you think! You dirty-" his hypothetical voice sounded like that of a middle aged coloured lady. But just as he was about to go into detail about what he thought about Nico's ways, Will jumped in.
"So! Back to camp or to yours first?" Nico's boyfriend was much too excited, Will rubbed his sweaty hands on his jeans and Nico just looked at him, closed his eyes and fell asleep on wills chest. As his mind slowly cleared he felt Wills hand on his hair, stroking it.
"I love you..." Will whispered, brushing his lips across the stop of Nico's hair, then leaning down to press them down onto his head, kissing him.
Nico smiled, and nestled closer to Will. How could he deserve such a perfect human being? After everything that had happened to Nico, all the pain and the heartache, all the destruction and loss he had suffered, it still clung to him like gum on his shoe but at least now it was starting to ease and things had begin to go right for him. Perhaps Nico's life had taken a turn for the sunny side...

*sorry this is so short and a bit of a filler but I'm going to write a long chapter next which may or may not be featuring a certain God of healing.....
