Will held his hand tightly. Nothing could make him let go or give up, Nico would wake up and everything would be fine. In an ideal world, Annabeth would also make a full recovery and all this would take place in plenty of time before their scheduled double date in Friday.
But Will new knew better than to rely on foolish hopes and dreams, he knew that Nico was in danger and that Annabeth and his conditions were critical. But no matter where he searched or what he looked for, he couldn't find a way to cure them. People kept asking him to try something new, or work some miracle. But he couldn't. And it killed him.
"Will, you know the only way to save him is to go on the quest." Katie stood in the doorway, watching as her brother sat quietly crying.
"Katie, I can't-" Will uttered
"Bullshit Will! You are perfectly well, he however-" she pointed at Nico "is not! I thought you were one of us, I thought you helped people!" She felt guilty about being harsh, but it's time everyone stopped tiptoeing around the fact that Nico would die if Will did not save him. But not only Nico would die, Annabeth and countless others would also lose their life's
"I am, I do want to help people!" Will had turned in his chair to face her, but his Hand still stayed on Nico's
"Then stop being so selfish!" As she yelled she felt tears of her own spring to her eyes, "I bet you didn't even know that Tommy collapsed yesterday...." She uttered out before succumbing to the sobs that were inevitable. Tommy, son of Hephaestus, had been Katie's boyfriend for almost 2 years, since she had gotten to camp. She had held it in for a full 24 hours, she had to be strong for Will and her patience. But the truth was she was breaking down inside.
"Aw Katie," he let go of Nico's hand and hugged her tightly and they both sunk to their knees in the doorway
"Fuck this prophecy!"Will whisper yelled
"Hell yeah!" She tried to sound optimistic through her tears, but it came out sounding sadder than ever.
"What am I going to do?" Wills hopeless voice rang in her head for a few moments until they were interrupted by the sound of another voice, coming from above them
"You've got to go on the quest..." Will looked up to see Percy Jackson standing above him, stern look occupying his face.
"I can't leave him, Percy! What if he....he-"a Will chokes
"I promise you I'll protect him as best I can but I can't promise that he won't-"
"No Percy! You have to promise me that he won't...die-" Will struggled saying the word "I can't lose him Percy! He's everything-" Percy took Wills shoulders
"I promise you Will Solace that I will not let Nico di Angelo die!" They hugged
"Im going to get that flower for Annabeth too, she will survive this! She has to!" Will whispered to Percy as they embraced. Everyone left, leaving Will to bid farewell to Nico.
"I'm going to pick this flower and bring it back for you, I promise on the river styxs, that I will make you better. You've got to trust me, because I freaking love you Nico di Angleo and I will never let any harm come to you again!" He sealed it with a kiss, and then left for the big house.

Sorry for a very long gap between updates and for this only being a small filler chapter but the next should be about 63% of the quest so it'll be a long one!
