SURPRISINGLY, SPENCER FELT confident in this date as he stood in the Grimm's living room, waiting for Evelyn. According to Caleb, what was taking her so long was that Kelsey was giving her a pep talk for tonight after admitting that she was nervous.
Spencer glanced up the second he heard footsteps coming from the hallway. His lips turned up into a smile at the sight of Evelyn.
Even with her hair in a messy bun, and joggers and an old, but cute, T-shirt he thought she still looked gorgeous.
He bit down on his bottom lip slightly as her pink lips also turned into a smile.
"Hey," Evelyn whispered.
Spencer grinned as he held his hand out for her. "Hey, pretty girl."
She rolled her eyes and shook her head as she stepped forward and gently laid her hand in his. Spencer didn't hesitate to pull Evelyn into a hug, wrapping his arms around her small body and pressed a small kiss to the top of her head.
Evelyn couldn't stop the smile from growing.
"Gross," Caleb muttered once the two pulled back. Spencer had to fight the urge to roll his eyes.
"Fight me, Caleb." Evelyn stated, raising an eyebrow at him.
He laughed, "Go."
"You aren't going to murder me, are you?" Evelyn asked as Spencer guided her through his apartment while covering her eyes.
Spencer laughed, pausing quickly to press a lingering kiss to her cheek. Evelyn soon blushed, still flustered that Spencer would choose her out of every other girl.
He smiled, "Baby, I won't murder you." He laughed, shaking his head. "It's just a surprise, pretty girl."
Evelyn nodded just as Spencer uncovered her eyes as they stood in the doorway of his bedroom.
She gasped at the sight of multiple blankets, and a white sheet tucked away different spots to create a fort. Her lips turned into a smile when she saw that fairy lights lit up the dark room, and that the TV was in the fort.
While Evelyn was gaping at the fort that Spencer made, he grabbed the threw DVDs that sat on the table next to his door.
Evelyn spun around, grinning at Spencer. "Wow." She breathed, "Why did you do all this?"
"I thought it was more thoughtful than dinner; for a first date anyway." Spencer shrugged.
He laughed as he was taken back as Evelyn quickly wrapped her arms around his torso. He rested his head on top of hers as he laid his hand on the small of her back.
"We're not even official, and you're already exceeding every expectation I had." She admitted.
Spencer smiled slightly and pulled back from the hug, showing Evelyn the movies in his hands. She couldn't help, but grin and giggle at his choices.
Captain America: The First Avenger, Lilo & Stitch, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Spencer had managed to remember that these were Evelyn's favorite movies.
"Go ahead and get in, I'll put these in."
He didn't need to say more before she slipped off her shoes, and tucked them away neatly by the bedroom door. She crawled into his bed as he put in the first disk, Captain America.
"You are amazing," Evelyn whispered, as Spencer situated himself next to her.
He smiled down at her, "Thanks."
Spencer gently placed his arm around her shoulders as she laid her head against his shoulder. As the opening scene started, he hesitantly placed a small kiss to her forehead that put a smile on her face.
And that smile remained for the rest of the night.
The night came to an end, as much as they didn't want it too and they stood on the porch of the Grimm's home.
Evelyn stood in his embrace, and didn't really want to leave his arms. His embrace felt familiar and warming to her, like he was welcoming her. Though, due to the height difference, Evelyn's face was almost always nuzzled into his chest or the crook of his neck.
"I wished we had more time," Evelyn muttered.
Spencer sighed softly as he agreed, "I know. Maybe we could go out again."
Evelyn smiled, for the hundredth time that night, as she looked up at him. "I'd like that."
The nerves settled in with the thought. Spencer bit down on his bottom lip, and for some reason, he couldn't take his eyes off her.
"Then uh, would you like to be my gi—girlfriend?" He asked, his voice shaking slightly.
Evelyn giggled as she stood up on her toes, pressing a kiss to his cheek. She stayed in the position just a second longer.
"I love that idea just a bit more," she whispered into his ear before settling back on her feet.
He let out a sigh of relief as he smiled down at her. "With this great ending, and a new blossoming relationship, I guess this is good night."
"I guess it is. Good night, Spence." Evelyn murmured, hugging him once more and turning to go inside.
Spencer stood there, watching as Evelyn flashed him another smile before retreating into her house. He couldn't fight his own smile as he stood there for one more moment, just thinking about had happened.
"Goodnight, pretty girl." Spencer whispered.
