SPENCER FELT SO nervous as he stood in his best friends' living room. Luckily, their child, Emmett, was diverting his nerves as he was in Spencer's arms and cooing happily.

"Why am I so nervous, E?" Spencer whispered to Emmett, who responded with giggles.

He couldn't help the smile that came to his lips as Emmett continued with the giggles and coos.

When Evelyn was finally done with getting ready, she quietly walked out of her bedroom and into the entryway of the living room. She smiled softly and leaned against the wall with her arms crossed as she watched the unfamiliar man in front of her.

Evelyn glanced to Caleb, the look in her eyes begging him not to say a word. Once Caleb had nodded silently, she looked back up to Spencer.

"That smile looks good on you," Evelyn stated, laughing quietly when Spencer jumped slightly.

Evelyn's smile only grew when Spencer finally looked at her, and he grinned as his eyes widened. Spencer couldn't believe the beauty that was standing in front of him.

"Wow." Spencer muttered, "You look good in general."

Caleb couldn't help the laughter, "Okay, man, calm down. You two just met, literally."

Evelyn pushed herself off the wall, and approached Spencer as Emmett began reaching out for his aunt. Spencer passed him over, her happily taking her nephew into her arms as she kissed his cubby cheek.

"Here, take your son." Evelyn murmured, handing Emmett to his father.

Caleb rolled his eyes as his son was sat in his lap. As he shook his head, he looked up at Evelyn and Spencer from his spot on the couch.

"Go you crazy kids. Have fun, and be safe."

"Yes, father."

Spencer kept glancing at Evelyn while he was driving. She kept singing along to every song on the radio that played Joy!fm, and he loved it.

Evelyn gasped as Flawless by MercyMe came onto the radio. Spencer glanced at her and laughed as she grinned.

"There's got to be more!" Evelyn shouted as he turned up the radio. "Than going back and forth, from doing right to doing wrong! Cause we were taught that's who we are!"

Evelyn looked to Spencer as he began to sing the next verse. She was floored when she heard his voice, and felt like melting at the knees.

"Then like a hero who takes the stage," he sang in perfect harmony, "When we're on the edge of our seats saying it's too late, well let me introduce you to amazing grace!"

Once the song hit the final note, Evelyn immediately turned the radio down significantly. She stared at Spencer with such a look that it could've bore holes in his skin.

He couldn't help the laugh that fell from his lips, and it made Evelyn smile.

"Woah!" She exclaimed, ready to go full fangirl. "You're good!"

"Thank you." He stated sincerely as he smiled at her. Then he joked, "I have been doing music since I was thirteen."

Evelyn's jaw dropped at the information that was given to her. Another one of his laughs fell from his lips again as he continued to keep his attention on the road.

"No way." Evelyn muttered, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Would I really lie to you?" Spencer asked, smirking slyly at her and raising his eyebrows at her.

She sighed, "No."

"Okay, then." He laughed, "I'm being serious, pretty girl."

The smile effortlessly made its way to her lips at the nickname and a blush crept up to her cheeks. Evelyn bit down on her bottom lip as she looked down to her lap and fiddled with her fingers.

"No one has ever called me that," she whispered.

Spencer glanced at her disbelief. He shook his head briefly, and returning his attention back to the road.

"Do you always blush when I call you that?" Spencer questioned.

Evelyn nodded shyly, "Yeah."

"Come on now," he smiled, gently elbowing her arm. "Don't get all shy on me now, pretty girl. There's no need!"

Spencer approached the table that Evelyn chose to sit at in the coffee shop. He smiled softly at her as he placed down her Frappé in front of her.

"Thank you," the words fell off her tongue in such grace.

Spencer smiled, "No problem."

Evelyn watched as Spencer pulled his out of his back pocket and sat on the table top as he sat down. Once again, he smiled when he realized that she watching him. She blushed and looked to her lap as she was caught.

"Dang it," she murmured.

Spencer laughed, "You don't have to be embarrassed that I caught you staring at me. Am I that attractive?"

"Honestly?" She laughed, looking up at him again. He nodded earnestly, and she tried to pull a straight face which made him laugh. "Yeah, a little."

She couldn't dare lie to him, but she did want to joke around with him. She couldn't deny it, they had a good connection. Whether it was connection as friends or something more, she didn't know.

"Well, if it helps," Spencer started, sipping on his coffee and leaning back in the booth. "You're pretty beautiful too."

Evelyn grinned, and her cheeks turned to a dark shade of pink, but she never tore her eyes away from his blue ones.

"Thank you."

And like before, Spencer thought her words rolled off her tongue with such grace.

And like earlier, thoughts came to the front of his mind. I want more with her.

"I would say you're welcome, but I'm only telling you the truth." Spencer shrugged, smiling at her.

Evelyn shook her head, "You're such a flirt, but you're sweet."
