Chapter 5

"Guys! Mum's on the phone!" Tracker yelled as he set his mobile, now on loud speaker, down on the table. His three siblings came racing down the stairs and crowded around the device.

"Hey mum." They all greeted.

"Hi kids, look I have to stay here for a few days so I won't be home. Sorry it's short notice but I trust you all. How's everything been?" The woman replied. You could tell by her voice that she was smiling.

"It's been okay." Rubble Said, deciding not to mention that Skye and Zuma were still not speaking after last night. Or that Zuma now had a blue-purple mark on his face from Skye's slap. In his mind, and Tracker's, he deserved it. He had crossed a line.

"So Zuma I know you're going back to Rocky's for a few days aren't you?"

"Yes. But the others will be here to watch Skye." He said, glaring at his sister.

"I'm not four. I don't need looking after." She growled.

"Skye's right. And anyway, boys I thought you had a party?" Their mother asked.

"Oh yeah!" The two said in realisation. "Callum's party. We're out tonight then."

"Great, so I'm here alone then?" Skye muttered.

"Why don't you spent the night with Chase and the others?" Zuma's head shot up at his mother's suggestion.

"Mum, I'm sure Skye can-"

"Zuma, I was talking to your sister." their mother scolded lightly.

"What a great idea Mum." Skye replied, giving Zuma a smug smile. "I have been meaning to get to know them better. Especially Chase." Zuma's eye twitched in irritation.

"That's the spirit Skye," their mother praised. Skye hadn't really interacted with any boys other than her brothers after the 'Chris situation'. "Besides, he's not that bad looking either." She laughed slightly, knowing that her daughter was probably thinking what she said.

"Exactly what I was thinking Mum. He's got that charm about him. Anyway, I'm going to pack my bag for tonight. Have a good time Mum. See you soon." Skye smiled, walking out of the kitchen.

Zuma watched her go and turned back to the phone. "Mum, I really don't think that-"

"Zuma, I am the adult in the house, not you. If I say Skye can go, she goes. Am I making myself clear?" The woman said.

"Crystal." The brunette sighed, defeated. After exchanging their goodbyes, Tracker ended the call and the boys started to gather their things. By five in the evening, everyone was getting ready to leave. Skye was at the door with her bag and a towel over her arm.

"Why do you have a towel?" Zuma asked.

"Because I'll have to shower, duh." Skye responded, still irritated with her brother.

"You're showering at Chase's h-"

"Yes I am. Remember what mum said. Leave. Me. Be." The two glared at each other for a while before they broke their gaze and the blonde gave her other brothers, and Rocky, a hug before leaving the house, her bag hitting Zuma's shoulder on the way out.
