From the second they were born; Dash and Emery Campbell were inseparable.

The two twins were always by each other's side every opportunity they got. There was hardly ever a time when they were seen without one another. Wherever one of them went, the other was sure to follow.

In their younger years, they were practically attached at the hip, but as they got older, they began to develop other interests. Even though they were into completely different things, the two of them were still constantly at each other's side. There was nothing that was ever going to change that.

For the most part, neither of the twins had a hard time making friends. It was other people that were the problem. For some reason, their peers had a tendency to steer clear of the twins. Throughout the early years in school, most people didn't dare go near them because they always seemed to be happy enough with each other and most people didn't understand the close, sibling dynamic that they shared.

But while having your best friend be your twin was great, sometimes it was nice to have someone else to hang out with and play on the playground with.

Eventually, Dash and Emery stopped trying to make friends because it seemed like every time they tried, no one wanted to be their friend. They spent most of the time wishing that someone would want to be their friends for more than just a day.

It wasn't until they entered middle school that they finally met their best friends, Demetri and Eli. The two duos soon became a quartet. What was once two inseparable twins were now the four inseparable best friends. There wasn't a day that went by that the four of them weren't together.

It wasn't long before what started as a friendship began to turn into something more. Shortly after discovering his sexuality, Dash found himself developing a crush on Demetri. He wasn't exactly sure why it had started. If he was being honest, Demetri annoyed him more than anyone else he had ever known. But for some reason, that was part of why he liked him.

Although it was annoying, Dash couldn't stop himself from falling more and more for him every single day. The only person that knew was Emery and that was only because she could read Dash easier than anyone else. She always knew when something was wrong or when he was holding in a secret. It was one of those weird twin telepathy feelings that no one could explain.

Soon after Dash started crushing on Demetri, Emery found herself developing the same feelings for Eli. She had no idea why it had started or where it had come from, but it had happened out of nowhere. Once she started thinking about it, she couldn't stop herself. Before she knew it, she was in deep and there was no crawling back out of the hole she had dig herself into. Dash had insisted that he had known all along and that it had been obvious from the start. Emery hadn't realized it before, but Dash was right. She was always staring at Eli for longer than what would be considered normal.

Sometimes, she found herself looking at him during class or when they were hanging out at one of their houses. It seemed weird to think that she had a crush on one of her best friends, but at the same time, it didn't. She just couldn't believe she was in the same boat as her brother. How was is possible that the both of them had a crush on one of their best friends at the same time?

After the realization of their crushes, Dash and Emery did everything they could to keep it a secret. They didn't want them to know and were willing to take it to their graves. They feared that they wouldn't like them back—that they only saw them as friends.

Besides each other, Demetri and Eli were all they had. The last thing they wanted was to lose them. It was bad enough that they were already considered to be persona non grata number one around West Valley. They didn't want to ruin their friendships.

Dash and Emery didn't know it at the time, but crushing on their best friends and being persona non grata to their peers was about to be the least of their worries. They had a certain Ecuadorian boy, his karate sensei, and a feud dating all the way back to the eighties to thank for that.

i have also re-casted dash. he was previously played by chosen jacobs, but i've re-casted him to bjorgvin arnarson because not only do i think he fits dash's character more, but he looks more like lexi underwood than chosen. also there's more scenes i can use for gifs and tiktok edits! also lexi & chosen played love interests in a movie so it kinda felt weird (at least to me) to have them as twins...
