It started like any other day. With everyone laughing and joking around.
And then, within the blink of an eye, it became the complete opposite...

"All available heroes are requested to appear on the scene as soon as they can."
The feminine voice repeated for what felt like the hundredth time to him. His hands were clutched into fists over his knees in an attempt to stop them from starting shaking even though he knew nothing like that would happen but anyone could see the slight amount of panic in his ruby eyes — he tried his best to hide it but it was still there in some weakened form. Lingering in the red like what he had just seen a few moments ago.
"I repeat; all available heroes are requested to appear on the scene as soon as they can."
The female — whoever she was and whatever division of the Hero Commission was she a part of — continued to deliver the message. The fear and distress in her voice was hardly lessened by her professional tone. But that did nothing to help the situation. That did absolutely nothing to save the one's in danger... Nothing to get at least a handful of heroes on the site of disaster. Nothing to help him fight against the ever-building anger and frustration.
Nothing to reduce the horrible feeling developing in his gut...
It was fine just a few hours ago. Everything was just fine. No one — not a single person was cowering in fear, desperate to save their own lives, utterly terrified of the death looming over their heads like an unforgivable vulture no hero could save them from.
It was fine just a few hours ago...
He'd been scolding Kaminari and Kirishima for not making soup properly. He was being called an angry Asian mom by Ashido and Hagakure not even two hours ago. He was just destroying Todoroki in that one video game. Reassuring All Might there was no hitman after his successor and that idiot was just in the development studios helping Hatsume. Being yelled at by Iida for something so trivial — doing what teenagers were supposed to do.
And now he didn't even know of there was going to be anyone but him and the other person sitting beside him to fight the villains decking havoc, maniacs who had somehow managed to send the entire country in a state of chaos.
It was just his luck that he was one of the only two people who were currently on their way to help.
Currently, he was clad in his hero costume in a military helicopter being taken to where those villains were. Beside him was Shoto, in the same state as him — trying his best to keep his composure.
Two students. Only two third year students. And the one person operating the flying vehicle. That was the backup situation ever since Katsuki got changed into his hero costume. And it wasn't getting better anytime soon.
Since the order among the cities went to hell and the heroes had been too hard to get in contact with considering the situation, the Hero Public Safety Commission assigned the military forces to take the lead. With the state of panic, the heroes — the walking image of safety — were busied with the masses and the Nomus that had just appeared everywhere.
Katsuki was actually pretty annoyed by the fact that the villains had decided and managed to actually pull that feat. Class-3-A had very efficiently destroyed the last of the Nomu factories during their summer break and it ticked him off how there were still so many of those monsters roaming the streets and destroying whatever came in their path.
In all honesty, Katsuki wanted to do nothing more than to get off this goddamn helicopter and blow up each of the Nomus heads. But there were plenty heroes nationwide busy with the exact same thing. Plus, there lied a greater concern around the eastern coast. That's where the roots of this mass destruction were and that was where they were heading...
Just two actual fighters.
"I repeat; a-all a-available heroes are requested to appear on the scene as soon as possible. Please..."
"Can't this woman shut up? We're on our way, aren't we?"
The low growl that very unexpectedly escaped his mouth almost destroyed his attempt keeping his nerves calm and keeping up a strong expression, replacing it with hidden fear and panic, anger and frustration. Almost.
"Apparently, two people aren't enough to save a whole country to the government." Shoto replied, his face stoic as ever.
Katsuki quirked up an eyebrow, "Oh? Two? What about those thousands of military troops then, huh?"
"It's like in those movies." The hetrochromatic boy began explaining, gesturing with his hands, "People only count the flashy heroes as their saviors while the forgotten soldiers die on the borders for peace. Maybe we should donate braincells for the people after this."
"Only if you fucking have any!" The ash blonde snorted.
"Ochaco said I have seven and a half, mind you."
"Pfft, loser. I have a solid fucking eight."
"Izuku had twenty the other day."
"Pfft, loser. I have a solid fucking twenty one."
"How strange...~"
"Tch. I'm still smarter than you, dipshi—!"
The sudden unbalanced turn of the helicopter cut him off and almost threw both boys off their seats. Thankfully the pilot recovered quickly and changed the course of the helicopter.
After sitting himself up properly again, Shoto asked, "Is everything alright?"
"I apologize, but it seems some of the Nomus have been set on our path to take us down. We'll have to take a different path. From above the mountains perhaps." The pilot replied almost immediately.
"And how much will it delay us?" Katsuki asked, slightly peeking beneath them from the side to take a look at their attackers.
"If go over the mountain range, supposing we don't get targeted again, we'll make it in under seven minutes."
Almost seven more minutes of this shit...
Katsuki groaned, "Urgh... Why the hell can't I just get there myself. It'll be much faster with my explosions!"
"You sure you're not going to take on the Nomus on your way there alone, delaying the arrival further?" Shoto asked, his tone reeked of playful teasing while his face was just as blank as ever.
The ash blonde glared at him for a whole eight seconds before giving up, "Fucking fuck whoever the fuck made those fucking Nomus."
"What colorful poetry. Could you perhaps be interested in literature if you don't graduate as a hero? I'd love to see the amazing heights you can take Japanese poetry to." The hetrochromatic boy suggested.
"Fuck thou. May a tempest demolish thy désirs."
"Please, excuse me. I happen to not know angry-Shakespearean. Is that perhaps a confession of your feelings?"
"You bet it is." Katsuki scoffed, hoping to let the other boy see that he didn't want to deal with his bullshit now... Or ever.
Shoto, oblivious, concluded, "I see. So you do love me after all."
"... Seriously who the fuck is teaching you these things?"
"Joe."
"Say that one more time, I dare you and there will be only one hero arriving at the scene. I dare you."
"No, seriously. I came up with a different witty response for this."
"You have seven and a half braincells, how 'witty' can it be?"
"Izuku-cried-when-I-said-it-to-him level witty." Shoto replied, "They were happy tears though. I don't like making him sad... Or you... Or anyone who's not my father or my eldest brother."
"Sure, whatever."
The next few moments passed in silence as neither of the boys spoke to lighten the mood as they had been doing nor there was another attack directed towards them, thankfully.
It was as silent as it could be in helicopter. For a while, it didn't feel like anything was wrong. For a while, it felt like any other villain. Just for a while, that gut churning feeling had disappeared from Katsuki's conscience.
Just for a while...
"All available heroes are re-quested to a-ppear on the sce—bzz—as so—krr..."
The radio communication device went static for a few seconds driving everyone's attention towards it, making them fear the worst. Did something happen to the woman? Did the Nomus get to the Hero Commission? Were they really unable to dissolve the situation? Was there no hope anymore? Had they already failed? Was this the end—?
Katsuki shook his head, mentally slapping himself back to reality. This was no time to over think what could have possibly happened to the woman. He needed to think what to do now not what had already happened.
"We've got someone else on the line." The pilot informed the two boys who were now standing directly behind him. "Based on the frequency, it's from the eastern coast — the villain's base of operations."
Shoto nodded, the small gesture was enough for the pilot to know that they should receive the call.
Katsuki and Shoto held in their breaths, expecting a series of taunts, a good old back-story or a list of desires and motives from the mastermind behind the mass destruction — and did Katsuki's mind scream it was All For One.
Instead, they were met with something completely different.
"Call off the backups. Don't even near the eastern coast."
"That voice..." The ash blonde trailed off with his heart thumping faster by each passing second and the gruesome feeling now roaring in his system.
What was this idiot upto now?

If it were any other day, maybe I would've destroyed that radio and shut down the never-ending panicked requests from the woman.
Because on any other day, it would've been a piece of cake.
That day was not any other day...
