4-he's just so tired

Notes: takes place closely after chapter 1
~~~~~
he's tired.
from where he lays on the bed, all he can feel is exhaustion. he doesn't want to get up at all.
when he does try to raise his head, a pounding ache begins at the base of his temple and spreads. he quickly gives up and falls back onto the pillow whenever it starts.
all he can do is turn onto his back to stare at the bleak ceiling.
thoughts race through his head, lethargic and slow from the morning daze. though he feels so tired, he can't focus on them one at a time.
he has school today, he thinks. he has classes today and he should probably get up.
he doesn't. he doesn't want to get up at all, not when--
not when he can't stop thinking about yesterday. about yesterday and- and- her.
sleep makes his hand slow as it reaches for his phone, his fingers closing slowly over the case and dragging it towards his face.
he pauses.
he doesn't know what to say.
what does he send? what can he send to make it feel better, or at least to know how she feels, or--
he slams the phone back onto the nightstand, not caring if he cracks the screen.
"dammit," he hisses out through clenched teeth. his fingers clutch around his shirt, rip at his heart. "it hurts. why does it hurt?"
his heart hurts. his heart bleeds.
his heart bleeds for her.
tears stream down his face, but all he does is collapse back onto the bed, burying his face into the pillow.
he's just so tired.
