Trouble incoming!
Nari occasionally gives up.
I smile politely at the new CEO of Bighit, hence called Hybe entertainment from February.
He is a good man, but doesn't exude the cute and good vibes like our old man, Bang PD nim.
"So you were the previous dietician of BTS, I see." He says. I nod with a hum.
"And you are Taehyung-ie's girlfriend. I see." He says, I nod again with a deeper bow down. This was nerve wrecking as it is. Taehyung is right beside me as I was taking the new interview.
Turns out, Sejin oppa is still their head manager! A few more managers were added to the crew, but I yet have to meet them. I miss the old crew. It was so jovial and everyone enjoyed their time together.
Now, it's all about chatting and video calls. They often play games online with the artists, but it can't be me.
You see, I'm heck-ed at playing video games. I can't even handle an extra baggage called phone in my purse.
All that my purse has is a pepper spray, few migraine tablets I carry for others, few Painkillers which I believe have crossed their expiry, a little sachet of hot sauce (definitely past it's expiry). I can't forget about money, a separate wallet of money for food whenever I find a separate stall for food when we go out for walking.
And yes, I do have a few jerkys for Tannie. He's a very good boy.
Um...
"Why are you searching your purse, Nari?" Taehyung cuts me the slack. I give him an awkward smile as I pull out a Tupperware packed dish, along with the chopsticks.
"Haha, sorry. But may I please ask you to taste this dish I made for Taehyung this morning?" I ask. Taehyung was giving me harsh 'what the fuck, Nari?' Glances from beside. I can feel it in my sixth sense.
"Please. I request. You will understand why I was their dietician for such a long time." Says I, with the confidence of an Eagle.
"Okay." The new CEO smiles awkwardly. I bet the assistant of his was laughing behind her mask, but I damn cared. I need to fling this job back into my purse.
"Japchae..." the CEO murmurs to himself. He takes the disposable wooden chopsticks and takes a bite off the glass noodles. I added a few extra spices in there for flavor. It should make the deal.
I'm highly confident because Taehyung loved the combo I made in the morning. He loved it so much, besides being a picky eater.
The man widens his eyes as if he had the best meal in his entire life.
"Wow. That's really good." Says the CEO.
Silence follows for a while.
"So...?" I begin as the CEO completes the box and hides a burp under his hand. I felt contended, because I know there's a special offer coming along with the job offer.
"Nari, right? You are allowed to work in the building. Just because you are familiar with the company and the people." He lies partially. He's whipped for my cooking, I can see it.
I smirk internally, knowing the next offer is coming up quickly from his words.
"Could you..." There it is! His face was awkward-ing, his cheeks blushing, "Make a few meals for me too? My wife gets real concerned once I'm out of the house. With your chef skills, I might become rather healthy." Says the CEO as we laugh loudly.
"I'll consider it as a part of my job, sir. Thank you!" I chuckle as I make my way out with Taehyung. He folds over and laughs his lungs out. I stand there in victory, smiling as big as my mouth allowed.
"See? I told you it'll work." I say to the man who accepts his defeat.
"That was bombastic! I didn't even get a chance to see his awkward face but now I did! He's hilarious!" He laughs out, his booming voice making the situation funnier.
At last, the contract was signed as I see the new clauses written exclusively for me. I show Taehyung the deal as he nods and smiles.
They were pretty well written and considerate of our relationship.
It only required us to keep everything confidential to the new staff members and the added new artist groups. It was easy.
But that's what I thought.
Upon arriving at the studio where almost all the seven boys were said to be, I read the situation to be a little serious. Their new English song was being recorded. Through the door, I hear Namjoon's voice faintly.
He goes, "1, 2, 3... and then start with the beat. You have my guide playing in your earphones, right hyung?" He must be instructing to Jin. My smile knew no bounds. It was growing so big.
I am able to meet my boys again after two long years. They nor I had the proper time and place to meet. Because of COVID and because of our tight schedules— me as a house-girlfriend for Taehyung— we never met each other face to face.
Only a few texts here and there.
"I hope I'm not disturbing you." Saying, I reintroduce myself to the boys. My guess was right. They all, and will, stick to each other like glue.
Five sat on the couch which only allowed three. And all five widen their eyes while making a stride towards me. Dropping my purse, I prepare myself to be embraced by my favorite group of people.
Namjoon stands afar, allowing his team members to engulf me. Taehyung and Namjoon join once I spread my arms for them too. Somehow I had pretty large arms to embrace them all at once.
"Oh, noona! I missed you so much!" The bunny boy says. However I gasp pretty loudly.
"Kookie!? Are you really Jungkook!? Oh my, you've changed so much!" I scream. Alas, my inner fangirl did make a resurfacing. Taehyung chuckles from behind me and directs his playful glare towards the youngest.
"Oh, Taetae. She is still yours. Don't worry." His best friend Jimin pats Taehyung. I'm sure I remember Jimin had tears in his eyes. I'm forever soft for my Chimchim.
"Well, guess what's after your recording session~" I sing as their eyes started gleaming back up again. Oh, what a sight.
It was even more blissful when I realized it was because of me.
Indeed, food is the way to the heart.
And I might just be their rescuer in any case.
Food has healing properties!
