Chapter Seventeen

This chapter could have gone one of two ways...I chose to give you a more light hearted chapter. We shall save the drama for later.

P.S. I wrote this with a 100.3F fever so if it seems...weird, I apologize.

"So, do we yell 'Surprise!' or something?" Roy asked as soon as Jason opened the door to let him in.

Jason shrugged, gesturing for him to step inside. "I honestly have no idea. To be honest, I'm not sure why we are even throwing this thing in the first place."

"Uh, because it will be fun and the look on mom and dad's faces will be absolutely priceless?" Helena piped up as she walked by with a tray full of rainbow colored cupcakes. "Hey, Harper. Welcome to Wayne manor."

"Thanks, Helena." Roy called back to her, shrugging his sweatshirt off. He eyed the other guests, his gaze immediately becoming glued to Tim and Kon. He smirked. "I knew it."

"Oh come on! Are we that obvious?" Tim kind of whined, pouting slightly when Stephanie nodded.

"I thought we did a nice job of hiding it." Kon slipped his arm around Tim's waist, kissing his temple. "But now that your family knows, or to put it so Stephanie doesn't hit me, now that your family is open about knowing about us, I can show you off and spoil you the way you deserve it."

Tim blushed furiously while Stephanie and Cassandra pretended to barf and gag.

"Way too sweet, save that for the cake, Kon!" Wally snickered from his spot on the couch, his legs draped over Dick's lap.

Kon stuck his tongue out at the red head. "You're just jealous, West."

"Oh yeah, totally. You caught me there."

As the two continued their good natured bickering and teasing, Jason took a look around the gathering of teenagers and Alfred.

Dick and Wally had claimed one of the couches for themselves, becoming a tangle of limbs that Jason didn't even know where to begin to tell them apart from.

Helena and her girlfriend, Karen, were helping Alfred set up the food while occasionally throwing barbs at Dick and Wally for being lazy.

Barbara and Ivy - which Jason has yet to find out why they call her that - were chatting with Cassandra by the fire while Stephanie and her boyfriend Jaime teased Kon and Tim by the window.

Damian and his friend, Jon, had claimed one of the other couches, taking turns putting filters on the other party goers and sending the photos and videos to each other.

Jason felt someone nudge his arm and he turned to his side, jumping when he saw Roy standing there with a raised brow. "Aren't you going to give me a tour, Jason? Or am I just going to end up getting lost and having to stay here forever?" Roy faux gasped, covering his mouth dramatically. "That's your evil plan, isn't it? Force me to get lost so you can hunt me for sport?"

"Dang, you figured it out." Jason rolled his eyes. "No, you doofus, I just forgot you were here because you were actually being quiet for once."

"Ouch, you wound me."

"I regret inviting you to my home. Worst decision of my life, zero out of ten, would not recommend."

Roy narrowed his eyes at Jason, giving him a scrutinizing look. "Did...did the Jason Al Ghul-Wayne just try to be funny?"

"I don't have to try, I just naturally am hilarious."

"Keep telling yourself that, pal." Roy grinned at Jason. "But if I were you, I'd leave the jokes to me and the looking pretty to you."

Jason went to snap back but stopped when he realized what Roy said. He smirked at the red head. "You think I'm pretty, eh?"

"I never said that."

"You literally just did though."

"Did I though? I said you look pretty, not that I think you are pretty." Roy winked. "One can be objectively attractive, as you are, without everyone drooling over you."

Jason paused. "So you don't think I'm pretty?"

"Again, I never said that."

"I feel another concussion coming on." Jason groaned, snapping his head up to glare at his sisters when they started snickering at him. "What are you laughing at?"

"That's not how concussions work. They don't just 'come on' to you." Barbara wheezed.

"Unlike some things in this room." Cassandra half mumbled, getting an elbow to the ribs from Stephanie and a confused look from Jason.

"What are you talking about?"

"Damn its not just your thighs that are thick." Wally called from across the room, joining the conversation. "Here, let me spell it out for you: In his own weird, dumb way, Roy Harper is flirting with you."

Jason blushed furiously, looking down at the ground. "Are my thighs really that thick?"

"Really? That's what you got from that?" Roy huffed, his own cheeks tinged with pink. Jason glanced up at him with furrowed brows and Roy rolled his eyes. "I, Roy Harper, have feelings of the more than friendly variety for you, Jason Al Ghul-Wayne."

"More than friendly...? Like, super friendly?"

"Damn, I know you were raised in isolation with only a younger brother and occasionally a terrorist mother for company, but do you really not understand what I am saying?" Roy groaned, glaring at Jason when the taller teen started laughing. "What?"

"I understand completely, you dingus, I just think you look cute all flustered and frustrated." Jason smirked. "So, you have super friendly feelings for me?"

"I hate you. I honestly hate you and want to punch you in the mouth."

"Hopefully with your mouth and not your fist."

"My god this is painful." Stephanie moaned. "Just freaking kiss and get together already, we all know it is coming! This has been so dragged out, I'm surprised mom and dad aren't-"

"Aren't what?" Everyone present, minus Alfred of course, shrieked in shock, turning so fast to the doorway they were sure to get whiplash. Selina and Bruce were standing there with satisfied smirks on their faces. "Surprise!"

"Damnit! All this work and in the end we were the ones that got duped." Helena cried out, still clutching Karen's hand for support.

"What is all this?" Bruce asked, gesturing to the array of pride colored food, the banner, and the matching T-shirts the siblings wore that read 'Wayne? More like Gay-ne'.

"Welcome to our group coming out party!" Dick cheered, hopping up from the couch. "We discovered the other day that most of us are gay or bisexual so we decided to come out as a group to the two of you. Surprise!"

Selina blinked, a shadow of a grin on her mouth. "I...we are so shocked. Wow. No idea any of you were anything but straight. Nope. Went totally right over our heads."

"Agreed."

The siblings were all silent for a moment before chaos erupted. The guests and Alfred just sat back and watched in amusement as the siblings all bombarded their parents with questions.

"What do you mean with that bullshit sarcasm?"

"You knew?"

"How long have you known?!"

"What gave it away?"

"Wait, what? I'm straight!"

"But do you like the T-shirts?"

"How could you have possibly known?! I just got here a few months ago!"

"I agreed to this for the free food and I honestly feel so attacked right now."

Selina and Bruce chuckled, holding their hands in a pausing motion. "We are your parents, we have a way of knowing these things. And before any of you ask, this does not change how we feel about you, any of you. We still love each and every single one of you and are so happy to have you in our lives and in our home. The only thing this changes is the pronouns we use when we ask about significant others."

"About that...most of them are here." Helena gestured to the guests. She pulled Karen up to her mother and father. "Mom, dad, meet Karen Starr, my girlfriend."

After that, everyone fell into a round of introductions and eased into the party atmosphere. Wally and Dick did end up doing karaoke, much to Helena's delight.

While the party was in full swing, Roy sidled up to Jason with a smirk. Jason raised an eyebrow, about to ask what he was up to when the red head pecked him on the lips, pulling back with a devilish grin. "I normally don't kiss on the first date, but I made an exception for you. Thanks for asking me out."

"I-wha-I didn't ask you out, this isn't a date?"

Roy winked. "Mhm, keep telling yourself that, Jaybird."

"Jaybird?"

Roy shrugged. "It suits you."

"Whatever you say, Harper."

"Back to last name basis? You hurt me."

"I'll do more than hurt you."

"Promise?"

"Shut up."

"Make me."

Damian and Jon were sitting on the far side of the room from Jason and Roy, watching the exchange. Damian smiled, shaking his head at his older brother's blush. Jon noticed this and asked what was up.

"Nothing, I just haven't seen Jason this happy in a long time. I just...hope it lasts."
