Hey Brother

Siblings can be burdens, or they can be blessings. It just matters how you look at it.

Cassandra Philopie looked at her brother as a burden. She thought of him as a disappointment. He was everything she didn't want to be. He was terrible and she loathed him. There was no forgiving him.

Though her brother looked at her as a blessing. She was everything he wanted to be. She was amazing and he loved her. There was so much he shouldn't be forgiven for.

He shouldn't be forgiven for anything.

He deserved everything he got for what he was.

He could rot in a dirty jail cell for all Cassandra cared.

He wasn't her brother. He was a disgrace.

She was glad her family disowned him, forced him to move out at 17. He made too many wrong decisions. Decisions that cannot be forgiven.

Though if she knew what was going to happen to him, she might think about forgiving him.

Though she didn't.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They found his body at 7:00 am on the 21st of January.

It was said to be a suicide.

It was believable. He probably did it because he finally realised how much of a disgrace he truly was.

He was gay after all.

And he was terrible.

He wasn't bully, he didn't smoke pot, he didn't do anything.

But be gay.

Being gay is a sin and will end you up in Hell.

Some people say that the real sin is homophobia. Though who would believe that when the bible says the truth.

Boys and girls are meant for eachother.

It's how it works.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cassandra didn't find out her brother was dead until the 23rd of January.

She told herself that she couldn't cry about it.

She loathed her brother after all.

There was no reason to cry for someone that you don't love. No reason to cry for someone who is like that. Who is that different. Who is gay.

For a second she couldn't see why she hated him so much. For a moment she saw past everything and saw how amazing he truly was.

He was better than her. He was amazing.

He did everything that she didn't.

He looked out for her, he protected her, and he helped others. But most importantly he excepted people for who they were.

He didn't care if they were gay or trans, he loved them for them and that is the real lesson.

Love is love.

Nothing can get in between true love.

Nothing can get in between sibling love.

And that was a lesson Cassandra didn't see.

The thing that became her demise.

The lesson she never learned.
