READER-CHAN'S POV
"Oh my gosh, I look like Belle here!"
I nodded, checking my phone for the umpteenth time since five minutes ago. It's been an hour and I'm waiting for a call from sir Alfred. I hear Maria huff, and I close my phone, looking up at her with an innocent smile. She pouts, glaring at me and rolling her eyes. She suddenly smiles and twirls, "How do I look?" She asks and I look at the details of the dress. It actually suits her, and complements her skin. I smile brightly at her, teeth and all, and say, "It suits you!"
She smiles back, clapping, "Really??" I nod, grinning because finally, I can go home!
"Wait, me too! How do I look??"
Or not.
I sigh, grumbling under my breath and looked at Elizabeth. I cooed just a little bit, smiling as she walked out with green dress. I clapped a little, smiling as a sign to show them my support. Elizabeth was shining and I knew that was the dress for her. Well, not really but hey, I wanted to go home and it looked really beautiful on her so now we got their perfect dresses, it was time to go home.
Finally.
Or not.
I bumped into some guy and I quickly heard a loud curse. My eyes widened and I immediately stepped back, looking at the crouched civilian. "I am so sorry, I was not looking and—are you okay?" I fussed over him and he chuckles, finally regaining his composure. Our eyes met and I was completely shocked at the naturally (really) green eyes of his. He smiles and I almost choke on my own spit. I was able to say words anyway, "I'm so sorry, it's just that—" he cuts me off, smiling.
"It's fine," my eyes travel from head to toe and he chuckles yet again, making me blush, "a beautiful young lady like you shouldn't be worried by a simple thing," he says again and he reaches for my hand, kissing my knuckles while holding eye contact. He smiles again, "But unfortunately, I am taken," those words were bitter in his mouth and I couldn't help but smile after all what's happening. He muttered some words but I only heard, "promised my first love," "marry," and "her". "Well, I must go. I hope you have a fine evening." He bows down and I tensed, bowing down furiously. He laughs again and leaves us, making my head dazed.
"What," Maria started but I wasn't listening.
"Was," I was snapped out of my daze and looked at her with a confused look.
"THAT?!" They both shouted which earned us weird and disapproving looks. I shushed them, glaring at them but they weren't listening to me. They laughed and I pouted, crossing my arms, disapproving their actions. Maria was the first one who stopped laughing and held me down with my shoulders with a big grin on her face. "Oh my god, he was so cute, why didn't you ask him for a drink?!" I glare at her, turning away from them as they follow me.
"He's taken."
Elizabeth showed up to my left side, grinning while shaking her right hand. "No ring. Can be broken up." I made a disgusted face and shook my head. "That's bad, Liza! They're together and you want me to ruin their lives??" I don't let her answer because Maria answers for her. Maria's smiling and it's getting me pissed off.
"He didn't seem like he was enjoying her company,"
I stopped and they stopped, too, both had stupid grins on their faces. I walk away quietly, shaking my head. I could practically hear them pout at my gesture but I leave them be. I was about to look at them but I bumped to another person and I cursed quietly when the beverage spilled on me. Why wasn't I lucky today? I look up and saw sir Alfred, a worried look on his face. "___________? Are you okay?!" He helps me up and I smile, nodding and ignoring the wet shirt.
"It's alright, sir!" I notice next to him was Arthur, Mr. Kirkland, and I smile, bowing, "Oh, hello, Mr. Kirkland,"
He furrows his thick eyebrows and shakes his head, "Just Arthur, please," he stretches out his hand to me and I shake it. I see him smile but it seems so fake.
"Alfred has told me a lot about you."
Oh.
JEALOUS BRITISH BOYFRIEND ALERT. JEALOUS BRITISH BOYFRIEND ALERT. ABORT MISSION. ABORT. Was in my mind, and he clears his throat.
His shake was firm and I continue to smile.
"Yes, well, he has told me a lot about you, too," I wink at him and he flushes bright red. He coughs, and our hands come back to our side. He maintains an eye-contact even though he's blushing, and nods. "I hope all good things."
I grin and wink at Alfred, "Yes, all good things,"
Alfred glares at me, blushing faintly. "Well, I'm sorry for ruining your evening, girls. However, for us, our evening still isn't done," he says, earning a look from Arthur. I smile and nod, bowing again, along with my friends. "No worries, I'm fine. We were just about to go, actually." Elizabeth and Maria glares at and I catch them before they smile and nod at the two bosses.
Alfred nods at us, "We'll see you at the party then," he shoots me a smile, "11:00, alright?"
I nod. We part ways and both of them clutches my shirt, saying, "We can't go home yet! We haven't bought my shoes!"
I groan because I completely forgot about the shoes. I shrug and open my phone as I look at the time. It was 7:45pm and I'm hungry. I look down at my wet shirt and sigh. "Alright, let's go find those damn shoes and a new shirt for me." They cheered and we went towards all the shoe stores. The three of us scattered and decided to meet in KFC. I looked around the store, sighing when I couldn't find anything interesting.
I changed stores, and found Maria there. I look at her as she picks a light yellow heels with a rose in front. She notices me looking and waves, grinning as she tries it on. It fits her and I coo, smiling at her beauty. She decides to buy it and I sat on one of the chairs while she paid for the pair of shoes. She sits next to me, bumping my shoulder with hers as she frowns.
"Can't find anything?" I was about to answer but as she looks at my shirt, she scrunches her nose and shake her head.
"Aren't you cold in that shirt?" Again, I'm about to answer but she got to it first. She stands up and says, "Okay, let's find a suitable shirt for you and then find those perfect shoes." I roll my eyes, nodding while smiling. Luckily, the store had shirts too. I just picked whatever and bought it. Maria didn't reject it. We quickly went around looking and fitting shoes for me. We found Elizabeth in one, who was already buying a pair when we got there. The only problem was me.
"I can just wear sneakers. They won't see it!" I whine, getting tired and hungry.
Maria sighs, looking at her wristwatch. She nods, frowning. "Yeah, it's already 8:30pm. Ugh, and I like eating early."
Elizabeth and I looked at each other as we harmonized, "And on time."
Maria shoots us a glare and both of us laugh. We followed Maria, wherever she was going and considering she was hungry, we ended up in KFC. I sighed and said, "Didn't we just eat here last week?" Elizabeth nods and Maria ignores both of us, walking in the restaurant. Elizabeth groans, muttering under her breath, "I'm getting tired eating at KFC." I nod emphatically. Both of us walk in, knowing we had no choice but to eat at KFC. Again. Well, I'm not really complaining, I really love their (favorite food in KFC). I sit next to Maria, who's already ordering for us.
I smile.
Oh well.

"Guys, please, it's almost 9pm and I haven't even found my shoes and we still have to put make-up." I say and they both stop arguing. I grin when they both stop getting at each other's throat for a freaking french fry. While they complain and grumble, I sneakily took the French fry and ate it. They saw it but was too late to act. They both glared at me and I grinned. They rolled their eyes when I called a waiter, telling him to get the bill so we could go find my damn shoes.
We left KFC after 5 minutes and then we started our hunt yet again.
I was strolling alone when I found it.
It was the definition of beatiful, yes, but it was so expensive.
I sigh, and then suddenly, I bumped into a man. Okay, what is with me and bumping men? He looked panicked so I asked, "Sir, are you—" he cut me off, shoving the bag to me. It was a small bag and I was so confused. He whispers, "Please buy anything with it, please!" And then he runs off and I'm still confused. I open the bag, and my eyes widened from the amount of money. I quickly closed it, looking everywhere if someone had noticed me. What the fuck was that?! My heart was beating loudly and I don't know what to do.
I'm contemplating whether to use the money or not. I get jittery and nervous. What am I supposed to do? Seeing that I had no choice—I sighed.
He said I could buy anything right?
I look back at the shoes, and I knew I was really lucky. I grin.
Should I be sorry?
•••
At the end, I was sorry but he told me to buy anything so I'm just doing what he says.
"My god, hurry up! We have to take a damn cab!" I shout, huffing and stomping my foot in impatience. I hear their heels clicking, frantic and excited. They push me out the door, one closing the lights and one locking the door. I pay no mind to their behavior and let them pull me out of the apartment. Luckily, the heels I was wearing wasn't that uncomfortable. It wasn't that uncomfortable to begin with anyway, but seeing that it was a new pair of shoes, I expected to felt new.
And maybe I do, I thought as I looked at the window, watching my reflection smile.
I'm so excited.
At least, that's what I thought until I arrived at the place. The building was lighting up with different colors and I could practically hear the music from here. Gladly, it wasn't that loud. I could just hear the faint music of old songs. I smile as I enter the building. The designs were simple but really elegant. Wow, they sure put effort in the design. The design was old but beautiful and I don't think I could stop staring. Well, until Maria ruined the moment. She pulled me in the elevator, chanting, "Come on, come on,"
We stayed silent in the elevator and I think everyone's going to the top floor—where the party was held. It was at the gazebo on the roof. To be honest, it was a long and silent trip in the elevator. I was itching to meet Alfred since he never called me about what he'd wear and it worried me. Suddenly, while still in the elevator, my phone rings and I freeze up.
I looked into my bag and I'm so awkward since it took me long to find my phone and answer it. When I did, I was met by a panicked voice.
"___________!" he practically shouts in my ear, making me cringe.
Well, speak of the devil.
"Yes, sir?" I answer in a hushed voice.
"I don't know what to wear!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING INTO MY CLOSET AND I AM PANICKING!"
"I'm already here, sir." I answer with monotone voice. Although I was calm on the outside, I was trying not to facepalm and rush out of the elevator. Actually, I was trying not to scream at him and flip the freak out. Since I had no time to get to his place, I sigh. The door opens and I stay in the elevator. Maria and Elizabeth looks at me, asking why I'm still in the elevator. I pint to my boss and mouth, "Boss." And they nod, leaving me in.
As I was left inside, my face morphed into an annoyed one. "Wear a white polo. Get the damn suit jacket and a blue tie. Get those shoes I ordered for you just a while ago—"
"Wait what—"
"Shut up." I say, and started pinching the bridge of my nose. "Just do it, please."
"Okay! Thanks, __________!"
I nod. "I'm expecting you to be here in 20." With that, I hung up and I sigh as the elevator was filled with people again. It all stopped in one floor and I'm happy about that. As I stepped out of the suffocating elevator, I breathe a sigh of relief.
I really needed a drink.
