~I would like to apologize, because I had to make Prussia the bad guy, but don't worry it all smooths out in the end.
You walk through the halls of your school, Gakuen High. You weren't a straight A student but you did do fairly well in your classes, and got good grades. You weren't an outgoing girl, you were definitely more on the shy side. But is that what the reason that you got picked on? You weren't sure.
You were on your way to math class when you felt someone tug on a lock of your (h/c) hair.
"Hey! What is the little nerd doing today!?"
"Oh, hi Gilbert." You deadpanned, you had a few classes with him, but it didn't matter the few classes that you did have he'd pester you the whole time. And did he ever get caught? No. Of course not.
"Did you do last nights homework? What am I talking about, of course you did." He said still pulling on your hair.
You keep trying to ignore him, but he followed you to your desk. "Come on girly, where's your homework?" He prodded.
"Why didn't you copy off of Ludwig again?" You asked with a monotone, not really wanting to give him satisfaction by talking to him, but you couldn't seem to help it.
The reason he didn't copy off of his younger brother is because he got transferred to a higher math class. But that still didn't give him any reason to take your homework.
Gilbert's face scrunched up in disgust before grabbing more of your hair and yanking it.
You let out a little squeak, as he grabbed your whole math folder and pulled out your homework.
You rubbed your head where he had pulled your hair, as he threw your folder back on your desk. He then proceeded to march back to his desk to copy your work before the teacher got there.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
Math class ended and Gilbert had only shot a few spitballs at you lodging themselves in your hair, each time you had to run your fingers through your locks so they wouldn't harden and get stuck there. It was gross.
The next class you had was English, you luckily didn't have it with your red eyed bully, but it still weighed on your mind that you would have history with him after lunch, and then gym.
You got to English class and sat down in your assigned seat, next to Vash. He was already sitting in his seat he was always very prompt on getting to his classes, they said he's the 3rd fastest walker in the school, right behind Tim. Who knows how they even know this, and rank them, but that's your school.
"Morning Vash." You greet him with a smile, before grabbing your English binder from your bag. He gives a small "Morning." To greet you back.
A faint pink dusts his cheeks but you were to busy to notice.
You set your binder on your desk, when Vash speaks up again. "_____, H-have you decided on what club you're going to join? We are signing up for them during lunch today."
"Oh... I was thinking about the going home early club, I heard it only had two members last year. And, it would probably be better if I went home early. That and it doesn't require too much work." You laughed at the end, trying to make a joke.
Vash let out a huff, that could be interpreted as a laugh. "Yeah, I was in that club last year, and I was thinking about joining again."
"Really? That's cool!" You beamed. This made the Swiss man blush again, but he covered it with a subtle cough, and a monotone "yeah."
But soon enough the teacher entered the room, putting your pleasant conversation to an end.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
((Sorry I'm skipping the classes because its boring nothingness-))
You were gathering your stuff up when someone spoke up, interrupting your thoughts. "*Ahem,* er, _____, do you have lunch next?"
You raised an eyebrow. "Everyone in our grade has lunch next." You giggled.
"R-right. I meant did you want to walk together, so we could sign up for our clubs together?"
"Sure." You smiled. You started out of the classroom, but took a right instead of a left.
"Um, _____, the cafeteria is this way."
"I know, but my locker is this way."
He seemed to understand your logic, even though another reason you go this direction, was to avoid contact with the crazy 'Prussian'.
You both stopped at your lockers to drop off your books and pick up your packed lunches, you reached the cafeteria you were lucky that Vash's locker was close to the cafeteria.
Then you both signed up for the going home club and luckily for you, your bully had already put down that he wanted to be in the music club for a second year, so there was no worries for you.
"It was nice walking with you." You tell him as you started walking away.
"Um, where are you going? The lunchroom is right here."
"O-oh, I don't eat lunch with everyone else, I eat in the breeze-way, or in the courtyard, depending on the weather." You said scratching the back of your neck.
He looked a bit confused, but didn't really mind. "Seams lonely, could I join you?"
Never had anyone asked to sit and eat lunch with you, it kind of dumbfounded you. "Uh, I don't mind but what about your friends, won't they wonder where you are?"
"I usually just sit with my brothers, or by myself when they get annoying, so I don't think they'd even notice that I'm missing." He shrugged.
You nodded "Alrighty then, lets go." And with that the two of you were walking towards the courtyard.
You sat down on the nice green grass and patted the ground next to you letting Vash know that he could sit down. He sat down and took off his uniform jacket, and set it down on the opposite side of him. You both started eating your lunch.
"What did you pack?" You ask politely.
"Oh, a sandwich, some crackers and a water bottle. You?"
"Just a salad, and a lemonade. I've been trying to eat healthier lately."
The two of you talked about classes, and teachers, and not a single time did a dreaded thought of Gilbert plague your mind. But like all things, it came to an end, and you said your farewells and parted ways.
And next you had history class. The thought of having to see Gilbert made you shudder. But nonetheless you walked towards the class. But even before you turned the corner to the hall that led to the history wing you some force pushed your books right out of you hands, and onto the floor. You looked up and saw those dreaded crimson eyes.
"Hey, Girly! Ready for history!?" He laughed. You scrambled to pick up your books. And stammered an answer. "Y-Yeah." God why did you keep doing that!?
You stood back up, and as you tried to shuffle around the boy, he grabbed you bag that was on your shoulder. "Here let he get that for you!" That not only knocked you stuff out of your bag, but the things in your arms all over the floor. His crazy hideous laughter filled the halls, as he left you by yourself to clean the mess up. This made you late for class... Again.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
All throughout class you tried to pay attention, but your mind either wandered back to the wonderful lunch you had with Vash, or one of Gilbert's paper wasps stung your arms, back, or the nape of your neck. And by the time class was over you were covered in the red marks.
Now you were off to your last class of the day (well before, study-hall which clubs would take the place of), gym. Which you also unfortunately also had with Gilbert.
You had made it to gym enforce Gil could mess with you in the hallways again today. Once you changed into your gym uniform your teacher said that the girls would be outside, playing field hockey, while the boys would be inside playing football.
Gym had gone by like a breeze and you rushed to study-hall before Gilbert could get you again, Thank Himapapa!
You sat down in your study-hall seat and sighed with relief.
"Hello again _____." You heard Vash say from behind you. You turned around in your desk to face the blond. "Hey!" You smiled. He blushed slightly. Covering it up with yet another well placed cough.
"I saw you running through the hallway, you sure you didn't rank higher then me on that silly walking poll the newspaper club published?" He tried to joke.
"I'm sure," you laughed. "I just got done gym, and am still feeling a bit energetic." You slightly fibbed.
He nodded. "Are you going to do that take-home test that we got today in English?"
"Yup, want to do it with me?"
"Sounds fun." He said sitting down next to you.
~・~・~
The both of you finished your test/homework by the end of the study hall, and he insisted on walking you back to your locker.
"See you in English tomorrow." Vash said before you parted ways to go back home.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
Tomorrow first, second and third period went smoothly, maybe Gilbert wasn't even here today.
But as soon as your spirits rose they were also shattered with a single voice. "Hey nerd girl! Where's last nights homework!?"
You kept walking towards your class, it was futile, he was already standing behind you.
"_____, are you ignoring me!? I said where's your homework?"
"I turned it in early, yesterday before class ended."
That made the boy angry. "Is that so!?" He said grabbing your bag, and yanking it off of you, dumping the contence onto the floor. You scrambled to try to pick everything up, but he only kicked it, spreading it out.
You tried gathering everything quicker. Out of the corner of your eye you saw him pluck out a piece of paper.
You gasped realizing it was your take-home test. He ripped it in half then crumpled up the two halves, before storming off.
You quickly gathered the rest of your things including your wrinkled English assignment, and ran to math class.
All throughout class you were stung by the paper wasps Gilbert had leftover from history yesterday, this time one of them hit your jaw, another your cheekbone. Leaving particular throbbing red marks on your tender skin.
As soon as the bell rang you bolted from class not wanting Gilbert to catch up with you.
You made it to class right after Vash, he made eye contact with you he gave a small smile and you nodded.
You went straight back to the teacher's desk to grab the (clear) tape, and bring it back to your desk.
"What happened to your face?" Vash asked worried when he saw the red swelling.
"Don't know." You lied.
You pulled out your English take-home test and started to smooth out the halves so you could tape them back together.
"What happened to you paper!?"
"Um, not sure."
He glared at you. "_____, I know you're lying."
You looked at him with wide eyes, you felt so bad that you had lied to him and that he had caught you made it worse. "I, I don't want to talk about it."
He opened his mouth to speak, but you cut him off. "Please." You pleaded.
He grumbled, deciding to leave this one offense go. "Alright, this time, but if something happens again, I have to know."
You gulped, then curtly nodded, before turning back to put your homework back together.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
After class you two spent lunch together in the courtyard again.
He tried to ask again about what had happened before, but you quickly shut him down. You could tell it was bothering him, but he refrained from going against your wishes, or making you uncomfortable.
And once again lunch came to a close, and you and Vash had to go to your individual classes.
You had made it to class before Gilbert and let out a sigh of relief. Class started when he finally walked in, he gave you a usual smirk then walked back to his desk.
By the end of class you had a few more paper wasp stings and a few spitballs spat at you. And you weren't able to escape Gil on the way to gym.
All the way there, he pulled your hair, pinched your cheeks even called you names. But as soon as the girls changing room was in sight, you bolted. Luckily the girls and boys were split up again. And after gym there he was, leaning up against the wall, waiting for you.
"Hey, girly." You tried to go back in the locker room, but he grabbed your bag, yanking you towards him.
"Where are you going?" He asked sarcastically.
"I forgot my gym bag, I remembered when I saw you had yours." You lied, you really didn't need your gym bag, but since you didn't have it he believed you, and let you go.
You ran back into the locker room and exited the back door, and cut across the wrestling room, then past the rock wall, then through the old gym that the school didn't really use any more. This let you out pretty far from where Gilbert was still waiting for you.
You ran to your locker before Gilbert got tired of waiting. Once you reached your locker you saw Vash standing there.
"Hey _____, I thought we could walk home together since we're both in the going home club." You smiled and grabbed your stuff. "Alright, lets go."
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
You had a nice walk home with Vash two weeks ago on your first club day, and you even walked past his home which was only two blocks away from yours. You were surprised to see that he lived in a large house, and he explained he had a large family. To be honest you didn't know that, you had thought that he probably had a smaller family, but it really didn't matter to you. Since then you two had become real close friends, though you hadn't told him about bring bullied by Gilbert.
Today you were entering the school with your umbrella because the forecast called for rain in the afternoon, and you didn't know if you'd get caught in it on your way home. So it was just a precaution.
But someone else had seen you carrying your umbrella, and just your luck it was Gilbert.
"Hey _____, what's with this thing, it isn't raining!" He said grabbing it from you hand and looking it over.
"Gilbert, I-I need that." You whimpered.
He laughed before hitting you upside the head with it, then walking off with it.
It was only from the dollar store, you thought to yourself, trying not get get to upset. And with that you went to your locker.
You bumbled through your day till math class, dreading what was to come.
"Hey loser! Where have you been!?"
"Around." Your grumbled.
He let out his annoying laughter, as he put pressure on your shoulders, walking you to class.
Math was normal, you were being pelted with paper wasps, and trying your best to ignore it when...
*SNAP!*
A paper wasp flys right into your eye!
"Agh!" You cry, your eye gets watery and red, and the skin around it starts to swell already.
The teacher sprints over to your desk, and you tell him that you hit yourself in the eye with your own pencil, but he already spotted the rolled and folded piece of paper laying near by. But he told you to walk down to the nurse.
And that's where you spent your entire English period. Which you were kinda upset about because you were looking forward to seeing Vash.
The nurse let you out when the lunch bell rang, and you headed to your locker.
Once you grabbed your lunchbox you headed directly out to the courtyard, an you were surprised to see Vash already there.
"V-Vash!?"
"There you are _____, I was worried when you weren't in class."
"How'd you even know I was at school?"
"I saw you walk past my house this morning, I had to help my little sister and brother get ready for their middle school field trip, so I was running a bit late today."
"Oh," you laughed, sitting next to him.
"So where were you, during English class?" He asked.
"I had hit myself in the eye with my pencil and had to go to the nurse." You said taking a bite of your food.
He nodded, believing you, causing you to feel guilty.
The two of you had a great time talking about different things, and he even gave you the work you missed in class. But once again lunch came to an end and you had to go to history, and Vash had to go to biology.
You were walking towards your class when someone grabbed your arm very tightly and pushed your back into the lockers.
You looked up into the scarlet eyes of your ambusher. "W-What~?" Was all you could mutter.
He squeezed your forearm tighter, making you squeak.
"Because you couldn't keep your mouth shut in math, I got in trouble!"
You stayed silent out of fear.
He only sneered, in disgust before shoving you back into the lockers and leaving.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
The events of the terrible day kept replaying in your head, the only thing that kept your mood in an up swing was seeing Vash.
Which coincidentally is whom you were going to see now. Because it was club time.
"Ready to go?" He asked as you shut your locker.
"Yep!" You smiled.
As the two of you started walking home and you were talking about what you had learned in Chemistry class that day, you caught him looking at you with a soft expression that you hadn't seen on him before.
"Is everything ok!?" You ask him.
"Yes! I'm sorry, my mind must have wandered off again." He said with an adorable blush staining his cheeks.
You giggled in response.
Then a clap of thunder made you jump, and it immediately began to rain.
"Drat!" You said lifting your bag over your head to shield you.
"Where's the umbrella you were carrying this morning?" Vash asked holding his own bag over his head.
"Must have left it in my locker." You lied.
"My house is right here you can come in until the rain clears."
"Okay." You say following him.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
((Sorry it seams like you have more interaction with Prussia in the story so far... D: ))
Once inside the house he led you to his room. "I'll go get you a towel." He said before leaving.
You take off your uniform jacket which was wet, but it had protected most of the rest of you, being almost dry, apart from your feet, bag and hair, and goodness were they drenched, especially your hair!
Vash came back holding a plush towel out for you. You took it and started to dry your hair.
"So this is your room, it's pretty tidy for a guy's room."
"My Vater likes things clean, and pretty much everyone is everyone that way except Roderick, Theodo, and I guess Julian forgets sometimes too, but he's just 11 so I guess he's allowed to be a bit sloppy."
You laughed. "It has just now occurred to me that you haven't really mentioned your siblings a lot before."
"Oh, I have some pictures hold on." He says grabbing a leather bound book. "This is my journal, I always keep a recent family photo in here." He said opening up the front cover, letting two photos fall out onto the bed. You sat down next to him.
The one photo was definitely older, and the other very new. He handed you the newer one. And he took notice to a bruise on your forearm. He was about to say something when you said, "Wow you weren't kidding you do have a big family."
"Yeah, vater, me, my eight brothers, and my one sister. This is my vater," he said pointing to his father who had long blond hair with a braid in it, he had bright green eyes like Vash.
"This is Roderick, He's the oldest of us, also the messiest." he said pointing to a kid you knew from school... And you were pretty sure he was brothers with... "then there's me. The second oldest, then Gilbert-"
"Gilbert's your brother!?" You ask a bit shocked.
"Yeah, ya know him he is in our grade, he can be quite the jerk. Ya know what, it's better off you stay away from him he hasn't been the same since-" he gulped, "freshmen year. He's gotten a bit angry at the world." Vash sighs.
"Then after him, there's Ghristoph, he's in a grade below us." He also had long blond hair, his was pulled up into a bun, and he had a scar running over his eye and down his face.
"Then there's Gisil," this brother also had long blond hair, and had triangular features.
"Theodo," he had short brownish gingerish hair and blue eyes. He seemed more burly.
"Ludwig, you might know him, he's an honors student in the same grade as us because he's so smart he skipped a grade, otherwise he'd be with, Ghristoph, Gisil, and Theodo. Then we have the two youngest Lilli," she looked like a younger female Vash, almost down to a T.
"And Julian. He's a little esentric if you ask me." He had long wire hair pulled into two braids and glowing violet eyes.
"And that's our family as you see it today." Vash smiled at you warmly. You looked down at the older picture. "What's this?" You ask turning you head to try and see the photo.
Vash picked it up, and looked at it nostalgically. "This was our family a few years ago." He said handing you the picture.
Again he started pointing to people. "This was my vater, my mutti, Roderick, me, Gilbert, Ghristoph, Gisil, Theodo, and the youngest one here is Otto."
You look at him confused.
"This is my freshmen year, before Otto died. Gilbert, Ghristoph, and Otto were in the car, when... Something went wrong. Uh, I'd rather not talk about it right now." He said biting his lip. Trying to refrain from getting emotional.
You looked back at the old photo. Noticing Ghristoph didn't have a scar either, you could make a pretty good guess that whatever happened that day wasn't a pleasant memory. You put you hand on Vash's back and whispered, "it's ok." To let him know that he didn't have to talk about it. And you gave him a heartfelt smile, which made him smile back.
You heard the faint sound of birds chirping. "Oh, looks like I got to be going." You said standing and grabbing your things.
Vash stood and followed you, to let you out of the house.
You both reached the foyer when the door opened reveling a tall muscular built man you recognized to be Vash's father, or vater as he called him in his native German tongue.
"Guten Tag Vater" Vash greeted.
"Nachmittag, who's this?" He asked his son in his very thick German accent. You blushed.
"Oh, vati this is my friend _____, I told you about." He responded.
He talked about you with his dad? This made you blush more.
"Ah, nice to finally meet you _____." He said sticking out his hand.
"Nice to meet you as well." You said, shaking his hand. He seemed to glance at your bruised forearm, making you slightly uncomfortable. Maybe you should have put your uniform jacket back on to hide it. "Um, I have to get home, I'll see you tomorrow in English, Vash." You say exiting the house.
You sigh, feeling a bit calmer as you walked home.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
(Meanwhile at Vash's house)
Alaric stared at his son. "I got a call from the school today." He started.
"About me!?" Vash asked surprised.
"No about Gilbert."
Vash groaned. "What did he do this time?"
Alaric raised an eyebrow. "He's been bullying a girl at school."
"Why would he do that!? He's so stupid sometimes I swear!"
"He's been bullying a girl named _____." He deadpanned.
Vash's eyes widened, and his blood began to boil. "That explains everything, and it makes sense why she freaked out when she found out he's my brother! Oh mein gott, once he gets home I'm going to shove his flute so far up his ass that he-!"
"Vash." Alaric stopped his son. "I will be dealing with him, and he is going to apologize to _____, for everything he has done. Then he will be grounded."
Vash calmed down a bit before nodding and started going back up the stairs to go to his room.
"And why don't you ask her to be your girlfriend already?" Alaric teased his son, making him as red as a firetruck, then turning on heel, and bolting up the stairs.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
On your way to your locker the next morning you were thinking about the time you got to spend with Vash yesterday. A blush ran across your face. Oh no, you better not start developing a crush on him. After all he told his father you were his friend. But then again, he said he had that he talked about you with him before. This make you blush more.
You reach for your locker, when you hear a voice. "Hey... _____."
You freeze. What did Gilbert want from you right now!?
He stood next to the lockers close to you. "Um, this is yours." He says quietly handing back your umbrella that he stole yesterday.
You reluctantly reach for it, then take it from his hand.
You kept looking at him. Why was he so quiet?
"Uh, I would like to say sorry, f-for everything I've done to you. It, it was wrong of me to do those things to you."
"It's ok."
"No it's not. My vater said I should invite you to dinner, to show you I'm truly sorry."
"I, I don't kno-"
"It's no use, you're coming." Another voice said from behind you.
"V-Vash!?"
"Why didn't you tell me that my idiot brother was bullying you?"
You lowered your head and shrugged your shoulders.
Vash's gaze softened, and he put a hand on your shoulder. "_____, we're friends right?"
You nodded.
"Well, if anything like that happens to you again tell me. Because I care a lot about you." Both you and Vash's faces blush brightly.
You hear Gilbert snicker. Making the both of you blush more.
Vash coughed, "Alright then, I'll see you in English. Come on Gil." Then the two German boys left.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
(Timeskip to lunch)
You and Vash were sitting on the grass, munching on your sandwiches when he stopped, placed his lunch in his lap and turned to you.
"What?" You asked.
"How long has he been hurting you?" He asked in an almost pleading manor. "He said all this year and some of last year too."
"Vash, it's not that big of a deal, it's over now."
"But, I wish you would have told me. It makes me so angry that he would do something like that! It makes me, upset, you're so nice, caring, and not to mention beautiful, it doesn't make sense to me."
You blush at his compliments. "Well, thank you it means a lot to me." Then you do something you didn't even expect.
You gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
His blush returns, and so does yours.
"Uh- _____, do you like me?" Vash asks.
You put your hands over your face and squeak a "yes".
"Well, good because I like... Love you." He says.
You start to remove your hands noticing how close he has gotten to you, blush still covering his face.
You remove you hands completely, and he starts to lean in.
The bell rings. He quickly pecks you on the lips before running back toward the school. "S-sorry!" He shouted before leaving you alone, with a huge smile on your face.
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
You barely remember the rest of the day, all you could think about was Vash's kiss. And before you knew it it was already club time.
As you walked towards your locker you saw Vash, pacing back and forth, talking to himself.
"Hey!" You call to him with a smile.
"Oh, hey _____, and about earlier... Sorry, I shouldn't have ran off."
"It's ok." You said grabbing your things and shutting your locker. Then you planted a kiss on his nose.
Then the two of you walked out from the school. "You can just come over now so you don't have to come back for dinner." Vash said. "That's if you want."
"That's a fine idea."
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
(Yet another time skip brought to you by Vash and you making out on his bed till Alaric comes home, jk)
・ 。・ ゜・ 。・ ゜・ 。・
For dinner the whole family sat around the table, and you were sitting next to Vash. It was a little odd for you, but it seemed nice.
"So," Julian spoke "are you Vash's girlfriend?" He, Lilly, and Gisil, Theodo giggled.
"Y-Yeah, is there something wrong with that!?" Vash shouts.
Ludwig and Ghristoph smirk at their brother's outburst.
"Stop teasing your brother, just because he's the only one besides Roderick, and maybe Ludwig who's in a relationship doesn't mean you can laugh at him."
"Now," Alaric continued. "Lets continue with dinner."
Your life has made a turn for the better, Gilbert has stopped bullying you, even is bordering nice to you.
You and Vash interlock hands under the table.
And you have a new boyfriend who truly cares about you.
