Sweden x Reader
((This is the very first reader insert I have ever written so I hope it's not too bad. I just love this big guy! <3))
You're on your way to Finland's house to do more paperwork. This time you were finishing the renewal of the agreement between the Baltic states and the Nordics, as you approach the house (Finland) Tino runs out to meet you.
"Hello, _____. You're here early!" He says embracing you in a hug. "Yeah, I finished work ahead of schedule." You tell him smiling.
That's when you noticed Berwald (Sweden) slowly walking out of the house. "Good morning _____." He greeted you with his deep voice tickling your ears. "Morning." You responded turning a light shade of pink, you hoped he was too far away to notice. "Come on inside." Tino said grabbing your wrist leading you into the house.
You sat down at the long table in the dining hall, spreading the documents out in front of your seat. Tino sat across from you, and Berwald chooses the chair beside you. You jump a bit as your heart flutters.
When you first met Berwald it was at Mr.Denmark's house. You were there on diplomatic matters between Mathis (Denmark) and Arthur (Britain). You mostly there to act as secretary, you remember the first time his eyes piercing azure eyes met your (e/c) eyes. Some would have called it a glare, but to you it was more like an inquisitive look. It seemed like he was trying to read you, who you were, what you were like.
He did look a bit intimidating, but you got a more of a protective vibe radiating from him, and to admit, you were a bit intrigued by him yourself.
You were snapped back to reality when Tino spoke up. "______, which papers do I have to sign?" "O-Oh, uh, just these." you said pushing a few towards him. "Is there any for me?" Berwald asked. "Um, no I believe we finished those up last time."
He nodded letting out a grunt. You wish you sometimes wouldn't get so nervous around him, otherwise you might have told him about your crush that you developed.
"How are the Baltic states?" Berwald asked being more chatty then usual. "Oh they're doing fine, they were sorry that at at least one of them couldn't make it." He nodded understanding. "How is living with them?" Tino asked. "Well it's not bad, I'll only be there for a few more days, and I'll be needing to find another place to stay, I hate intruding on people's lives like that, I just hope the repairs on my place will be finished soon." You say with a sigh. "You don't need to bounce between different country's houses like that, if you want you can stay here. Right Mr.Sweden?" "Ja."
They looked at you waiting for an answer. You waved your hand around nervously. "Aw, you guys I could never inconvenience you like that." "No _____, we insist, we really don't mind." Tino pressed. "Ja' we would enjoy your company." Berwald added.
Your face grew a little warm, "Well..." "And you did say that you didn't have a place to go after you left the Baltic's." "It's not like we're making you move in permanently."
When Berwald said that in his monotone voice, you practically fell out of your chair, and started to choke on the air. Just the idea of him mentioning living with them took you by surprise. "_____! Are you ok?!" Tino asked standing from his seat. "I'll get a glass of water." With that the Finnish man ran from the room. Soon your coughing subsided, and you turned to see Berwald looked at you with concern only showing in his bright blue eyes and his tense muscles. "I'm ok now." You tell him remembering how to breath. He grunts letting you know he heard you.
You remain facing him as he turns back to the table. There is a bit of silence before he speaks again. "Do you not want to stay here because I scare you?" "What? No!" He turns his head to look at you. You slightly jump and feel your heart racing. He raised an eyebrow. "No seriously I'm not scared of you, really, it's no-"
He didn't give you time to finish, because he swiftly brought his giant hands down, one on each side of you one on the table and the other on the opposite armrest, he hovered only a few feet above you. "I know you are. Finland used to act similarly. You can just say it." He thought you'd go pale from pure terror, but instead your whole face and neck turned beet red. "I-I-I'm not l-lying, i-it's a-actually the c-c-compleat o-op-opposite, I a-act-actually r-re-real-" growing tongue tied you swallow really hard the knot in your throat.
"I-I l-love you." You managed to squeak just above a whisper.
Suddenly realization set in and spread across his face, softening his features. And a subtle pink appeared across the bridge of his nose, cheeks and ears.
You brake eye contact, embarrassed. Soon a shadow covers you and you look back. As you do Berwald leans in and brushes his lips against yours. Your eyes widen with shock, before fluttering closed. Soon he pulls away ever so slightly, to give you room to breathe. "_____, I love you too. But it made me disheartened when I thought you were scared of me." "I, I'm not, I just get really nervous and forget how to express my feelings." You tell him him almost giggling.
The corners of his mouth curve up slightly into somewhat of a smile, before you move in and kiss him again.
At that moment Tino came sprinting back into the room, with a bottle of water. "It took me awhile before I could-" he stopped at the sight of you two and smiled. "Well why don't you look at that. It took you long enough Mr.Sweden." Berwald's face grew warm. And you could only smile.
"Does this mean that you'll be temporally be staying with us?" Tino asked. "Yeah, somehow I feel like I wouldn't be imposing."
