Note:

So there is DenNor mentioned/implied here but that is not the main ship this story focuses on.

Also sorry if Norway acts a OOC but there are times when it is necessary.

Warning, this is long.

Narrator's POV

Emil is a slave.  Now he wasn't born into it, no, he used to live in a nice sized home in a quaint village with his parents.  Though they weren't rich and living in a huge mansion with a bevy of servants, they were still well off enough that they could live a comfortable life.

Life was happy for Emil with his parents living in a quaint village...

...That is, till vikings came...

The vikings came upon the small village suddenly, catching everyone by surprise.  Emil watched as his home and village were ransacked and burned to the ground.  He endured the screams and yells of terror as his fellow villagers were killed.  And oh how Emil sometimes wished he had been one of those who had been killed.

Instead, he was captured and stared at lecherously by the vikings.  Him and a few young maidens from the village were tied up and taken, no doubt to be taken to be sold as slaves.

And thus Emil was right.

They were taken to a large town filled with unsavory characters.  From here, they were taken to an underground dungeon of sorts and all were thrown into different cells, hands still chained, a blindfold covering his eyes, further preventing them from escaping the dark cell.

For how long Emil was trapped in the dark he didn't know, but he felt like it was a while.

When a viking finally came, he forced Emil to his feet, forcing him forward towards the auctioning stage.

"And now for a rare beauty,"  A gruff voice said.  Emil stood still as he felt eyes on him.  "This boy was captured off the coast of the land of Ice.  Not only is his hair such a light color and his skin fair and smooth as a wench's but his eyes are rare in color."  Soon the blindfold was removed, revealing the lustful stares of hardened men and criminals alike.  Emil felt uncomfortable with the looks he was being given but tried not to show weakness.

"Beautiful and rare, as beautiful as an amethyst, right boys?"  Men wolf whistled and hollered, disgusting Emil more.  "Now then, let's start our bidding with 200 silver coins."  Soon voices rose up in chorus.

"300 silver!"

"400 silver!"

"450 - no 500 silver for that slave!"  Higher and higher the bids went as Emil felt worse and worse.  Emil made a silent vow to himself that if he can not escape from whomever buys him, then he would kill himself to avoid being treated as these men wished to.

"And we have 1000 silver!  Going once... Going twi-"

"1000 gold!"  A loud, obnoxious voice said in the back.  The auctioneer slammed his hammer down.

"Sold to the man in the back for 1000 gold!"  With that, Emil was forced off the stage and led into a back room where he met with a man with gravity-defying spiked golden hair.  He gave the sack filled with gold to a gruff viking.  After the viking had counted the gold, he left, leaving Emil with the blond.

The blond walked around Emil who remained still, like a rabbit sensing danger.  When he was done the blond stood before Emil, placing a metal collar with a chain around Emil's neck.

"So I'm your new master, Mattias.  You may refer to me as Master or as Master Mattias."  Mattias said.  Emil remained still.  Mattias frowned a bit and tugged the chain, forcing Emil forward, but still, Emil gave no sound.

"Hmm... gonna have ta train ya."  Mattias said.  He began leading Emil off like a dog through a series of tunnels.  "Can't have a disobedient slave, especially if I want ta give ya to my future conquest as a gift."  Mattias said, making Emil's ears perk up.

'This idiot is not going to be my owner?'  Emil thought to himself.

"I just know that if I give ya to Lukas he'll let me just have a taste of him."  Mattias said out loud as Emil felt disgusted.  He thought for sure that this 'Lukas' character would end up being a snob if he wouldn't accept a man as wealthy as Mattias who just payed 1000 gold for Emil.

But this made Emil feel even more worried; what if this 'Lukas' ended up being extremely abusive?  Emil shook his head slightly.

'No Emil, remember, don't resign yourself to this.  First chance you get, escape.  If that is not an option, then die, don't let yourself become a toy to these rich idiots.'  Emil thought.

Eventually the duo made it out of the tunnel as Mattias turned and blindfolded Emil.  Emil gave no protest, seeing as how he was still restrained.

"Oh~   I see, you're behaved, but maybe you're one of those special ones that can't talk!"  Mattias said in a voice actually believing what he thought to be true.  Deciding to play this off to his advantage Emil nodded, getting a laugh of recognition from Mattias.

"Ha!  The future King of Scandinavia is always right!  In this case I don't have ta train ya as much but still better, ta make sure I can get ta Lukas."  Mattias said.  Emil just nodded as he was led like a dog to a ship and thrown into a room.  The last thing he heard was:

"And don't ya worry, if you behave nicely with me, I won't do too much damage.  And if ya be good to Lukas, I bet ya he won't do much damage either!"  Mattias said as he slammed the door shut and walked away laughing.  Emil shivered and sat in the corner of the small area he was put into.

Quietly he listened, hearing only the sounds of waves and distant yelling of men on the deck.  Slowly, Emil took the blindfold off one of his eyes, letting him see where he was.

He found himself in a very dim room with only one door that was no doubt locked.  Emil gulped when he heard the sound of Mattias yelling angrily at another person, followed by the sound of whipping and someone begging Mattias to stop.  Upon hearing footsteps heading towards him, Emil moved the blindfold perfectly back in place and put his hands down on his lap.

The door opened and Emil flinched as he heard footsteps approach.  Emil sat as still as possible.

"Hmm..."  A deep voice said.  Emil felt eyes stare at him.

"Hey Sve, I see you're checking out the gift I'm planning ta give ta Lukas!"  Mattias said, bounding inside the room and up to this other person.  "So, what do ya think?  Ain't he perfect?"  Mattias asked.

"Hmm..."  Sve said, taking a few steps forward till he was right in front of Emil.  Emil sat as still as a stone as he felt deep piercing eyes staring at him.  All was silent.

"Well?"  Mattias said impatiently.  Sve backed away from Mattias and must've made some sort of sign for Mattias because Mattias shot up.

"Yes!  The future King of Scandinavia always picks the best gifts!"  Mattias said as he left with Sve.  Emil breathed a sigh of relief as he felt he was completely alone.

-------------------------------------------------------

For 3 days Emil was locked up on the ship.  When they finally landed on land Emil was quite happy.  Honestly, the constant rocking made him a tad sick.  Emil was led off by Mattias who pulled him along by the chain, chatting like there was no tomorrow.

"-and ya need ta know how to do this and that and that and this and-"  Emil just nodded as he listened to what he was told, wanting to avoid as much 'punishment' as possible.  During those 3 days on the ship, someone received some form of punishment every few hours.  The sound of the whip was sickening and very frightening to poor Emil, who by the end of the trip would flinch and shake violently at the sound of a whip being cracked.

"And here we are!"  Mattias yelled.  He undid the blindfold, allowing Emil to see a huge mansion.  Mattias grinned at Emil's wide eyes.  He led Emil inside and showed him to a plain-looking room with a small bed and a small bared window, barely big enough for Emil to fit through.  Mattias locked the chain onto the wall, making it so that Emil couldn't even reach the door, no less the window.

"Okay, you stay here while I go decide when we should leave ta go see Lukas!"  Mattias ordered.  Emil nodded and sat on the bed, staring at a wall.  Mattias nodded with satisfaction and left, locking the door.

Upon being sure that Mattias was gone, Emil moved slowly towards the end of the chain, trying to see if he could undo it.  Somehow, he managed to get it off the wall lock.  When Emil tried the half on the heavy collar, he was disappointed to see that he couldn't.  But at least now he could reach the rest of the room.

He quietly gathered the chain and walked to the door, quietly testing it, finding that it was indeed locked, from the outside, with a wooden beam as extra measure.  Frustrated, he tried the window.  Just as he was about to test it, he heard the loud Dane outside, obviously returning.

Quickly, Emil went back over to the wall, re-hooked and locked the chain and sat on the bed in the exact same position Mattias had left him in.  Just as Emil returned his gaze to the wall, Mattias began undoing the locks on the door.

"Hey!  That's impressive, ya didn't move an inch did ya?!"  Mattias said as he roughly patted Emil on the head.  Emil gave a quiet nod and cast his eyes down, trying to pretend to be obedient so as to get Mattias to lower his guard.

"Hmf, not lookin' a master in the eyes.  That's good!"  Mattias said.  He then sat on the bed and hugged Emil from behind.  Emil flinched and stiffened but held back his screams of protest.  Mattias rested his chin on Emil's head.

"Not sayin' or doin' anything against whatever I do to ya."  Mattias observed.  Mattias then moved over and untied Emil's wrists, looking at the reddened skin.

"Strip."  Mattias said in a commanding voice.  Emil was bewildered for a moment but begrudgingly did as he was told.  He stood up and took off his shirt.  Just as he was about to take his pants off, Mattias stopped him.

"Stop, it's obvious you're going to listen ta orders given to ya, no matter what it be."  Mattias said.  Emil simply looked down, wanting to put his shirt back on.  Mattias got up and walked to the door before turning around.

"You can put your shirt back on, and we leave for your new master's at dawn."  Mattias said before shutting and locking the door.  Emil let the breath he was holding out as he put his shirt back on.  He glanced out the window and decided to rest for now till night when Mattias would be asleep.

-------------------------------------------------------

Night had fallen when Emil woke up to the sound of loud snoring.

'Mattias.'  He thought to himself. He quietly undid the lock of the chain and walked over to the window, trying his hardest of find a weak point in the bars.  He failed every attempt he made.  It was during one of these attempts that he heard a 'thump' come from somewhere above, followed by clumsy footsteps.

Quickly, Emil once more redid the lock on the chain to the wall and crawled into the bed, pretending to be asleep, just as a hatch in the door was opened and two sleepy but wary eyes peered into the room.  After waiting a few moments, the hatch closed again as Emil opened his eyes.

"Must've been hearin' things..."  Mattias said sleepily as he went off.  Emil laid there silently.

'No way to escape here.'  Emil thought bitterly as he bit his lip.  He shifted a bit and looked around the room.  'Guess I'll have to wait till I go to this new "master's" home to see if I can escape.'  Emil thought as he let his eyes close and let himself drift off into an uneasy slumber.

-------------------------------------------------------

Emil inwardly grumbled as he sat in a carriage with Mattias who was talking about anything and everything.  Emil nodded but stared out the window blankly.

'No way to escape on the journey there.'  Emil thought, feeling a great deal of annoyance, mixed with touch of despair.  Eventually they arrived at a large mansion, even bigger than Mattias's.

"That's the place,"  Mattias said in a giddy voice, practically bouncing in his seat like a child.  "That's the place Lukas is and where you'll be working."  Mattias said.  Emil just nodded and stared at it.

'There's bound to be some hole in security here.'  Emil thought hopefully.

Soon the carriage pulled up to the mansion and Mattias led Emil inside, tugging the chain every few seconds.  When they arrived at a large room, a man, dressed in a long royal blue and purple robe with accents of gold, greeted them.  Emil didn't see his face, just kept his eyes down.

"Lukas!  It's great to see you!"  Mattias said in a ridiculous voice, reminding Emil of a love-sick teenage girl.

"Yes, yes Mattias,"  A bored voice said in a neutral, unfeeling tone.  "So who is this?"  Lukas asked boredly.  Emil could just picture a stupid grin on Mattias's face as he tugged on Emil's chain.

"A gift for you elsker [love]~"  Mattias said.  Emil kept his eyes downcast as he heard soft footsteps near him.

"Isn't he neat?"  Mattias said.  "He's obedient, good-looking, hasn't got any big ugly scar on his body, and he can't talk back!"  Mattias boasted.

"Can't talk back?"  Lukas questioned.  Mattias rapidly nodded.

"Yep!  Check it!"  He said.  Mattias then tilted Emil's head to the side and showed an old scar from when Emil was little and had fell into a river, cutting his neck on a crescent-shaped rock.  Though the wound wasn't fatal, it did leave a scar that looked like one of those that were meant to make people mute.

This explained why Emil was never gagged and why Mattias had thought he was mute after putting the collar on him; because of that scar.

Emil was snapped from his thoughts as he felt an ice cold yet smooth finger run across his scar, making him flinch, but he still stayed still.

"See, Lukas, told ya he's obedient!  Didn't even give a sign of protest!"  Mattias boasted as Emil gagged internally with disgust.  Emil internally breathed a sigh of relief as the cold hand had withdrawn from his neck and he was allowed to right himself.  Once done he continued to look down.

"So~  Do you like your present?"  Mattias asked.  Silence was heard.

"... I guess I'll accept it from you..."  Lukas said.  Mattias jumped and fist pumped.

"Yes!  I, the future King of Scandinavia have achieved victory!"  Mattias said like a child as both Emil and Lukas rolled their eyes without him noticing.

"Yes, yes,"  Lukas said with an annoyed voice.  "Now please leave, I need to show this one the ropes and then get back to my work."  Mattias nodded.

"Don't ya worry Lukas, I'm going!  Anyway, I'll be back in a month or two to see how things are going!"  Mattias said happily.  Emil gulped and stayed in his spot as Lukas pushed Mattias out.

"Yes, yes, have fun on your raids with Berwald."  Lukas said before slamming the door on Mattias.  "Stupid Dane."  He muttered to himself as he walked back to the room Emil was in, still standing in the exact same spot, having not moved.

Lukas carefully approached Emil and looked down at the other end of the chain.

"Hmm..."  Lukas thought as he walked around Emil, inspecting him.  When done Lukas only stared.

'I must say this has to be the best gift that that stupid Dane has ever given me.'  Lukas thought. 'Soft looking hair, rare colored eyes, pale skin that seems to be free of any natural blemish.  He is indeed a prize, costing any person a fortune to obtain.  But then again, that Dane is rich so he won't mind losing all that gold.'

Lukas eyed the clothing that looked rough and worn, the dried blood staining some areas and the ropes and collar causing Lukas the most concern.

'I need fix him up and make sure this one is alright.'  Lukas thought to himself.  He picked the chain up.

"Follow me."  Lukas said gently.  Emil nodded and walked a little behind Lukas.  Lukas internally frowned at this, wanting Emil to stand closer to him but refrained from reprimanding him.

'No,'  Lukas thought to himself. 'This one has probably been through a lot and no doubt that Dane did some form of damage to him, whether it was physical or psychological.'

Soon the duo arrived a large set of doors.  Lukas muttered something under his breathe, making the doors open.  Walking inside, Emil found it was a room filled with jars filled with strange things and things handing from the ceiling.  There was even a large pot that was filled with a bubbling liquid.  Lukas had Emil sit on a chair and removed the bindings from his wrists.

"Take your shirt off."  Lukas said.  Emil felt a tad annoyed but followed suit, keeping his eyes downcast as Lukas inspected him.

'What is it with people wanting me to take off my shirt?'  Emil thought to himself.

'What a lovely body and luckily free of any serious injury.'  Lukas thought to himself.  He gently removed the large, gaudy collar Mattias had put on Emil.  Lukas then snapped his fingers, making a jar of salve appear.  Emil stared, fascinated, as Lukas continued to conjure things up till he made a horrifying observation and conclusion.

'He practices magic!'  Emil thought, panicking on the inside.  'That must mean this whole place is covered in protective charms and barriers!  I'll never be able leave nor even die!'  Emil thought despairingly.  This time, when he cast his eyes down, it wasn't because he was waiting for Lukas to lower his guard, no, this time it was because he now had to resign himself to a life of misery.

Once Lukas had brought everything he needed to treat Emil's minor wounds, he turned to Emil himself, startled to see a depressing aura radiating off the boy who before had acted emotionless like Lukas.

'Perhaps he is only now coming to terms with what had happened to him recently.'  Lukas thought with sadness.  Lukas decided to begin trying to heal the minor injuries on Emil's body.  Taking the salve, Lukas swiped some of it and tried to apply it to Emil's injury, only to have Emil violently flinch.

"Calm down, I am just trying to tend to your wounds."  Lukas said gently.  Emil remained silent.  Lukas sighed and just continued to apply the salve on a few cuts and bruises on Emil's skin and on his wrists to help the rope burn, and every time Lukas touched Emil, Emil flinched, worrying Lukas more.

When Lukas was done he stood up and moved over to the gauze.  He found it was stuck to itself and sighed.   He then whipped it out, making a loud cracking noise, similar to that a whip makes.  Emil jumped from his seat, landing on the ground, shaking with fear, remembering the sounds of all the people on the ship screaming with pain as Mattias cracked his whip.

"Calm down,"  Lukas said, worried immensely for Emil who was shaking uncontrollably.  Emil just continued to shake.  "Shh, you are alright,"  Lukas said gently, walking over slowly to Emil.  He sat down in front of Emil and held out the bandages.  "It's just some bandages dyrebare [precious one]."  Lukas said soothingly.

Seeing that Emil was not calming down, Lukas quietly used some magic to help soothe Emil, without Emil noticing and becoming alarmed again.  Now that Emil had stopped trembling, Lukas quietly and calmly got to work bandaging Emil's wrists.  Emil flinched from contact, but that may have been from pain.

When Lukas was done he stood up and motioned for Emil to sit on the chair.  Emil followed suit, looking rather pale, making Lukas worry more.

'Just what did those foolish vikings and that stupid Dane do to this boy?!'  Lukas questioned.  He resolved to ask Berwald about this when he returns from the raid with Mattias.  Lukas shook his head.

"Let me get you some good clothes."  Lukas said.  Emil just sat still as Lukas raised his hand up and waved it.  Emil closed his eyes, feeling terrified of the magic, when he felt something warm and soft wrap around his body.

A few moments later, Emil opened his eyes, looking down to find himself in a robe similar to Lukas's but with shades of magenta and light violet and accents of gold.  Emil lifted his arm, finding that the sleeve was a bit long, but then again, it was only the style.  As Emil got used to this new look, Lukas began to admire him.

'A beauty indeed.  Such light yet muted colors suit him well.  Definitely a good match with someone who has such beautiful eyes and pale skin and soft pink lips-'  Lukas shook his head, feeling a bit shocked from the thoughts beginning to form in his head.

'No, no, no Lukas, this one has been through enough, let him rest.'   The good in Lukas thought.  But of course, there is always that other voice in the back of his head saying something very irresistible.

'Lukas, you have the power and it is obvious you desire this one, why else would you care to attend to his wounds and dress him in the finest clothes.  A little magic to help things move a little faster along the path you want things to go on is not a bad thing.'  It said.

'No,'  The good in him said.  'That will not do, forcing yourself on him like that.  That one shall suffer.'

'No Lukas,'  The irresistible voice purred.  'If you want him to get better, then use love to heal him.'  It said.  And Lukas had to agree with it.

'When one goes through tragic or traumatizing events as this one has then love and patience are the best solutions.'  Lukas thought.  He walked over to Emil.

"Young one, come with me, let us get you something to eat and then let you rest."  Lukas said in a calm and gentle voice.  Emil just nodded, looking down.  Lukas sighed softly and led them out and to the dining room where a nicely set meal was waiting for them.  Lukas motioned for Emil to sit down.  Lukas waved his hand making a variety of foods appear before Emil.

"Please do eat."  Lukas said gently as he watched Emil from his seat.  Emil glanced at the food set before him and gazed back down at his lap, feeling miserable and missing his parents terribly.  Just seeing the food reminded him more of it.

Lukas, observing Emil's sad aura increasing, got up.  He stood beside Emil.

"Please try to eat, you need your strength after all you've been through."  Lukas said softly.  Emil remained silent but listened and picked up a simple loaf bread, giving Lukas a bit of hope.  Emil took a few small bites before sipping a bit of water.  Lukas wore a ghost of a smile.

"That's it dyrebare, even if it is just a bit, it helps."  Lukas said encouragingly.  A few more bites later and the loaf was gone along with a glass of water.  After that Emil just sat in the chair looking down.  Lukas placed a hand on Emil's shoulder, making him flinch.

"Are you done?"  Lukas asked.  Emil nodded stiffly.  "Alright, now, why don't I show you to your room?"  Lukas said.  Emil just nodded and followed Lukas out of the dining room and down the halls of the mansion.

The duo remained silent as Lukas showed Emil to a grand bedroom.  The room itself was filled with blues and purples and violets, giving it an air of high class.  It had a large bed and large windows.  The bed had a large canopy and the room even had a large vanity mirror and set, making it remind one of a room fit for royalty.

"This will be your room."  Lukas said.  He led Emil to the bed and used his magic to put Emil in a white night gown and harmlessly float him into the bed.  Lukas then shut the curtains and placed the clothing Emil had been wearing before in the wardrobe.

"Rest dyrebare, and know you are safe."  Lukas said in a soft caring voice, using his magic to pull up the blanket over Emil, tucking him in.  Lukas then turned and left the room, turning out the lights except for a lone magical candle.  Lukas shut the door, leaving Emil to rest.

Emil stayed still in the bed, trying to believe if this was really happening.  2 weeks ago he was living a happy life at home, a week ago he was taken by vikings, only a few hours ago he was with Mattias, and now he was lying in the softest bed in the world in a room fit for a king.

'Did I die?'  Emil thought.  He shook his head.  'If I was dead mom and dad would be here... mom... dad...'  Emil felt tears fall down his cheeks as he buried his face in the soft pillow, letting his exhaustion and emotion go as he cried himself to sleep.

-------------------------------------------------------

Lukas sat in his magic room, trying and failing to find the particular potion he was looking for.  Frustrated he gave up and let his mind wander.

'I hope my dyrebare is getting some rest...'  Lukas thought to himself.  He turned to a basin filled with water and muttered a spell, waving his hand over the water.  The water soon showed the image of Emil, crying and shaking in his sleep.  Lukas watched, feeling an odd need to care for Emil well up in him.

'One little spell ought to help.'  Lukas thought.  He waved his hand and muttered something, making a soft yellow light envelope Emil's body.   Emil's shaking stopped as the tears vanished.  When the light faded away, it left the image of a peacefully sleeping Emil.

'Poor child.'  Lukas thought with pity as his anger towards Mattias grew.

'How dare that stupid Dane and all those stupid vikings (except Berwald) do this to this poor child!'  Lukas thought furiously.  He waved his hand, the image on the water shifting to show Mattias cracking a whip at a slave who was working on his ship.

"-and if you ever try to disobey me again like that I'll have you lashed 50 more times!"  Mattias yelled.  The slave just whimpered as Mattias let out a satisfied hum, turning and heading back to do whatever he was up to as Berwald came over and helped the slave.  Lukas waved his hand over the reflection, making the image disappear again.

'You didn't whip him, but knowing how whip-happy you are Mattias, it is no wonder dyrebare was terrified of the bandages.'  Lukas thought to himself with contempt and disgust.  Now feeling curious, Lukas decided to see Emil's past.

He watched as a happy child played with a puffin and fell into a river, getting a nasty looking wound.  He watched as Emil grew and began to work happily in a quaint village filled with happy people, making a small smile appear on Lukas's face.

But that smile soon disappeared as he watched vikings come and destroy the village, burning it to the ground and killing many people, including the two people who appeared to be Emil's parents as Emil and a few young maidens were captured and thrown onto the ship to be sold off.

'No wonder he is so miserable, anyone who would experience this would feel like giving up on life.'  Lukas thought as he watched Emil be taken to an auction and auctioned off for a hefty sum.  Lukas was disgusted further as he watched how Mattias treated Emil as anything less than a human and terrifying him with the sounds of whips and pain.

But what really got Lukas upset was when the scene changed to Mattias hugging Emil from behind and forcing him to strip.  Lukas refused to watch anymore and waved his hand off, changing the image back to a sleeping Emil.

'That-that-that- Gah!'  Lukas was frustrated to say the least.  He banged his fist on a nearby table, making it shake.

'Breathe Lukas, breathe,'  He told himself, taking a deep breath, and then letting it out, trying to calm himself down.  'Alright, at least now I have an idea about what my dyrebare went through to get here, and I am not happy in the slightest.'  Lukas thought.  He then got up and went over to his potions.  Lukas grabbed two potions.

Using one of the potions, Lukas teleported himself to Mattias's ship, appearing right in front of Mattias who was drinking.  Mattias choked on his drink as he sat up.

"Lukas!  I wasn't expecting you elsker!"  Mattias yelled.  Lukas just growled.

"Mattias,"  Lukas said in a growl, catching Mattias off guard.

"W-woah!  What's wrong?  Did that slave I gave you do-"  Slap!

Lukas slapped Mattias, still very angry.

"Shut.  Up.  You.  Stupid.  Dane."  Lukas said, every word radiating anger.  Mattias held his cheek as Berwald walked in, confused but clearly feeling the anger.  Lukas whipped around and marched out of the cabin and onto the deck, dragging Berwald with him as Mattias followed behind, looking like a kicked puppy.

"Lukas... elsker... what's wrong?"  Mattias asked.  Lukas was still raging.  He turned to Berwald.

"Grab my shoulder and don't let go."  Lukas said, still mad.  Deciding not to add fuel to the fire, Berwald nodded and put his hand firmly on Lukas's shoulder as Mattias and his men watched.

"Mattias, I don't want to see your sorry face for a long while, not after what you and your stupid vikings put my dyrebare through."  Lukas said, his voice laced with venom.  Mattias shot up.

"Hey, what do you mean 'dyrebare', who's-"  Lukas cut him off by opening the second bottle, containing a wind storm which began to sweep away the ship and all those on board except for Berwald and Lukas who floated up.

After that, Lukas teleported back to his mansion with Berwald, landing back in the same spot in his work room.  Lukas sighed, still angry but feeling better.  Berwald let go of his shoulder and stared.

"... L'k's, wh't w's th't 'b't? [Lukas, what was that about?]"  Berwald asked.  Lukas shook his head and brought Berwald to the basin where he showed Emil's sad past with the vikings and Emil crying in his sleep.  Berwald nodded.

"Mmm,"  Berwald said, understanding why Lukas was so upset.  After a moment of silence, Berwald ventured to ask, "S' wh't w'll y' d' w'th h'm? [So what will you do with him?]."

"... I'm not sure..."  Lukas said, wondering what he should do with Emil.

There's no way he'd let Emil leave, that would result in Emil either dying or ending back up at an auction to be sold as a slave... And, if Lukas was being honest with himself, he really wanted to keep Emil by his side.

"K'p h'm h'r'. [Keep him here]"  Berwald said.  Lukas looked at him.

"But he doesn't seem to accept me at all, all he does is flinch and shake around me."  Lukas said, a bit of sadness ebbing away at him.  Berwald nodded.

"Mmm, b't r'm'mb'r wh't y' d'd f'r T'no? [but remember what you did for Tino?]"  Berwald said.  Lukas nodded.

"You mean the enchanted collar?"  Lukas said, remembering how Berwald had rescued Tino from remaining a slave but Tino was terrified of everything.  To cure him, Lukas made an enchanted collar that would calm Tino down and make it so that whenever he was around Berwald he would be even calmer than before.

"Mmm, y' c'n d' 't t' h'm t'. [you can do it to him too]"  Berwald said.  Lukas thought for a moment as the voices in his head spoke.

'Do it,'  Urged the irresistible one.  'Listen to Berwald, he is the voice of reason.'

'Don't Lukas,'  The one of good said.  'If you do this to your dyrebare, it would be abusing your powers to make him yours.'

'No Lukas, it wouldn't,'  The irresistible one argued.  'You remember how Tino is doing now don't you?  Instead of being terrified of everything, he is happy and carefree, living a happy ending with Berwald, especially now that Mattias is on the other side of the world.'  Lukas had to admit, he did agree with this one.

"Alright,"  Lukas said, turning to Berwald.  "I will."

"Mmm."  Berwald said happily.

"But first,"  Lukas said turning to grab a potion filled with powder.  "Let me send you home to Tino."

"Mmm, tack [thanks]."  Berwald said.  Lukas nodded and threw a handful of the powder at Berwald, hitting him and making him disappear.  Lukas turned to the basin and watched with a small smile as Berwald returned to his home, where Tino was eager to greet him along with their young adopted son Peter and a small dog named Hana.

'Now it is time for me to make the collar.'  Lukas thought as he turned to his work bench.

-------------------------------------------------------

Lukas worked through the rest of the day and all through the night, making the perfect collar for Emil.

Made from white gold, it was filled with pearls, violet amethysts, and deep blue sapphires all intertwined perfectly into the gold, giving it a dazzling look.  When done with the collar, Lukas let a ghost of a smile appear on his face.

'Now for the enchantment.'   Lukas thought.  He turned to the large cauldron and began adding ingredients into it.  The liquid boiled and bubbled turning from red to yellow to green to blue and only now was settling to a violet color.  Lukas nodded and began to chant.

"Gods of peace,

Hear my plea,

Let whatever touches this potion become

A tool to bring peace to the mind,

And peace to the soul,

Of whomever this tool was meant for."

After say the chant, Lukas saw the liquid glow and soon settle down into a lovely pink color.  Satisfied, Lukas then cut a lock of his hair and tossed it into the liquid.

The liquid bubbled and hissed as colors flashed and sparks flew from it.  Lukas shielded his eyes as the liquid gave on last bright flash before settling down, now the same color as Lukas's eyes.  Lukas nodded and used his magic to set the collar into the potion.

The potion glowed, infusing the collar with magic.  The glowing now shifted and focused over the spot the collar was.  When the glow in the potion had died down, Lukas used his magic to lift the collar out and dry it, giving the collar a magical gleam to it.

'Now to go wake my dyrebare.'  Lukas thought as he carried the collar in his hands.  He quickly reached Emil's bedroom and knocked before entering, finding Emil still peacefully asleep.  Lukas walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.

'Now I must be careful.'  Lukas thought.   He gently rolled Emil over, laying him flat on his back.  Then Lukas opened the collar and placed it around Emil's neck, closing it.

'Perfect fit.'  Lukas thought as the collar glowed, letting the glow spread to the rest of Emil's body before dying down.  Gently, Lukas shook Emil's shoulder, waking Emil up.  Emil's eyes fluttered open slowly as a strange sense of calmness and peace overtook him.

Lukas used his magic to pull back the curtains of the room, letting sunlight in as Emil rubbed his eyes.

"Good morning dyrebare."  Lukas said softly.  Emil looked over, wearing a look of surprise at finding Lukas sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Are you hungry for breakfast?"  Lukas asked.  Emil nodded, making Lukas give him a soft smile.  "That's good, now let's get going."  Lukas said, standing up.  Emil followed and found himself wrapped up in a soft yellow light.  When it died down, Emil was no longer in the nightgown, but another dress-robe similar to what he wore yesterday.

Emil followed Lukas down the halls and to the dining room where food was waiting for them.  They both sat and ate in pleasant silence, Emil fully enjoying the food as Lukas felt happier knowing that Emil was no longer suffering.

When done Lukas and Emil got up, Lukas showing Emil to the gardens where he watched as Emil approached the flowers happily.  Lukas smiled and walked over to Emil, hugging him tight.

"I'm glad you feel better dyrebare."  Lukas said.  Emil was surprised by the hug, but hugged back, feeling even better in Lukas's arms.

'This feels... right... just right...'  Emil thought to himself as he relaxed into the hug.
