Narrator's POV
"Wwwaaaahhhhh!"
"Chun-Yan, it's not the end of the world," You said, patting her back as she cried into her pillows and plushies.
"Y-yes i-it i-is, aru!" She cried back. You sighed.
"Chun-Yan, listen to me; it's not your fault your ex cheated on you, it's that a**hole's fault for thinking with his d*ck and not his heart." You said, making her look up at you from her pillow.
"R-really, aru?" She asked. You smiled.
"Really," You said. She sniffled and gave you a weak smile as she sat up and wrapped her arms around your torso.
"[m/n], what would I do without a friend like you, aru?" She said, making you happy, yet still making your heart twinge with pain.
"Yeah... what would you do..." You said.
-------------- Time Skip To A Few Months Later ------------------
Chun-Yan sighed as she laid her head out on table as you put some tea for her.
"[m/n], can I ask you something, aru?" She asked.
"Go right ahead." You said, taking a sip of your tea.
"Am I unlovable, aru?" She asked, making you choke a bit. You put the cup down and beat on your chest.
"What makes you say that?" You asked, when you regained some air. Chun-Yan sighed loudly again.
"It's just, aru, lately I've been going on a lot of dates, but no guy wants to go on a second date, aru." She said.
"Really?" You asked. "Did something like bad happen during those dates maybe?" You suggested. Chun-Yan shook her head.
"I don't really know, aru. From what I can tell, it's either nothing particular happens or just some bad luck, aru." She said.
"Then please describe some of them for me." You said, watching as Chun-Yan sat up and began blowing on her cup of tea.
"Well, aru... There was that date I went on two weeks after my ex and I broke up aru..." She said.
------------- Chun-Yan's Flashback -------------
"I hope you like the food here," The man said, making Chun-Yan smile.
"I'm sure I will, aru." She said, peeking around the fancy but excellent restaurant.
"Hi, I'm your waitress, and how can I help you handsome?" A busty waitress asked, her cleavage practically showing, making Chun-Yan's date drool a bit as his eyes widened.
"I'll... uh..." He just continued to gawk at her, making the waitress laugh.
"How about I recommend dessert instead~?" She asked flirtatiously, Chun-Yan getting mad as her date nodded his head.
"I can see when I'm not wanted, aru." Chun-Yan said bitterly, standing up to storm out of the building, not that her date heard her since he was too busy looking at the busty waitress.
------------- End of Flashback -------------
"Ouch..." You said, gulping back a smirk that you had as you remembered that night as well.
------------- Your Flashback -------------
"So let me get this straight; you want me to dress in this slutty waitress top, and seduce that guy over there?" The woman asked, pointing to Chun-Yan's date.
"Yep, that's it exactly," You said.
"And I get $200 for this?"
"Exactly," You said, holding out the roll of money. "All you have to do, is seduce him enough to make his date never want to see his face again." You said, making the woman grin as she took the bag with the clothing and went to the restroom.
After a few minutes she exited and winked in your direction as you gave the thumbs up and watched as she walked over to take their orders but was quick to seduce the guy and infuriate Chun-Yan. You chuckled as you watched Chun-Yan exit the scene, the actress you hired soon following back over to you, taking the $200 before heading back to change into her clothing from before, both of you planning to exit the scene.
------------- End of Flashback -------------
"Yeah, that sounds like a bad rebound date," You said, scratching the back of your head as Chun-Yan sighed again.
"I know, aru," She said. "But it wasn't even the worst, aru."
"What was worse than that?"
"Well, there was that date from last month, aru... at the amusement park, aru..."
------------- Chun-Yan's Flashback -------------
"Man, this has been great." The guy said, making Chun-Yan giggle as she held onto a cute plushie he had won her.
"It was, aru." She said. It was then that a particular ride caught her date's attention.
"Hey, I just thought of something fun," He said. "How about we both go through the haunted house over there separately, and the one who can make it out without being scared wins, loser has to buy the winner ice cream?" He said.
"You are so on, aru." Chun-Yan said, already heading inside.
After about ten minutes she managed to make it to the end, not really bothered by the really fake looking things.
"Guess I should wait here, aru," She mumbled to herself, waiting at the exit. After a few moments she heard the shrillest shriek ever before her date came running out, as if he were running from something terrible.
"Aiya! What happened, aru?!" Chun-Yan cried, seeing her date having a white face. His eyes landed on her before he shrieked again and ran off, leaving Chun-Yan very confused.
But one thing was certain; there was not likely to be a second date.
------------- End of Flashback -------------
"Yeah, that guy sounds like a real nut." You said, holding back you laughter by taking a sip of tea.
------------- Your Flashback -------------
You grit your teeth as you shadowed Chun-Yan and her date, so far having been unsuccessful in ruining her date. It was then that you overheard their little bet and came up with a plan.
You carefully snuck in through the exit of the haunted house and waited behind some curtains as Chun-Yan passed before acting;
You dragged over a dummy dressed in a hockey mask holding a bloody machete and "borrowed" his costume, taking the dummy's place.
After a few frustrating moments of waiting, Chun-Yan's date appeared. You grinned as you were quick to grab him and hold the machete to his neck.
"If you ever go near that girl again I will kill you." You said in the darkest, scariest voice you could, making the guy scream like a girl, surprising you long enough to let go of him. He was quick to run out of the place, still screaming.
You quickly dumped the costume for your disguise and peeked out of the exit, satisfied to see the guy running away from an obviously confused Chun-Yan.
------------- End of Flashback -------------
"I never knew a guy could scream so shrilly..." You muttered.
"Yes, aru, I kn - wait a minute, aru." Chun-Yan said, lifting her head from the table.
"What?" You asked.
"How did you know he screamed shrilly, aru?" She asked suspiciously. You gave her a blank look when inside you were panicking.
"You did say in your flashback that he screamed shrilly." You said.
"Hmm..." She continued to give you a suspicious look as you tried to be as innocent as possible. "[m/n], aru?"
"Yes?"
"Are you hiding something from me, aru?" She asked.
"No, not particularly." You said with a shrug. "And if this is a ploy to find out what your birthday gift is, the answer is I'm not telling." You said.
"Aiya! You already have it, aru?!" She said excitedly. "Where is it, aru? Can I have it now, aru?" She asked.
"I told you; you can't know what it is and you can't have it right now." You said, standing from your seat and placing your cup on the tray. "I'm getting some more tea, would you like some?" You asked, but Chun-Yan just pouted.
"No, aru, I want my gift, aru." She whined, making you chuckle as you picked up her cup.
"More tea it is then." You said, carrying the tray to the kitchen, a grin on your face from succeeding in your goal of having Chun-Yan to yourself, and having her none the wiser to your plans and actions.
'She can be so naive sometimes,' You thought to yourself. 'But that's what I love about her.'
