Puffins

Robin took a run down the hill closet to her house. Her little set of islands were beautiful, with rolling hills, high mountain peaks, and the prettiest flowers you could ever see. Though she could say, she liked Green Road's place better. But this was home, and it will always be home. She stood up, twisted in the air, and then fell backwards.

At any moment, the young Iceland was supposed to meet her here. Since they were both younger countries, they'd been close together ever since she got to meet Uncle Denmark. She was sixteen, and he was seventeen and they could never get any older. That didn't bother her, even though Saint Andreas is twenty one, and Uncle Denmark just turned twenty three, she liked being younger.

Iceland didn't like it though, because he was younger and geographically farther than all four of his brothers. She shrugged it off. He should like it, but he often complains about it, sending strong hatred vibes into her skin.

She sat up, hating how the grass tickled the edges of her cheekbones. He should be here by now, she looked behind her just in time to see the albino taking a couple steps closer. He sat next to her, and stared off into the sunset. Behind him, Mr. Puffin and Lava played happily in the grass.

"You scared me for a minute!" Robin broke the silence with her usual, happy sounding voice and a quick laugh. Iceland trained his purple eyes on her brown ones before looking back down. He wasn't talkative today, let alone, he never really was a talking type, but normally he'd speak to her.

"I'm sorry." Iceland looked back to her hair, more trained on it than he was with her eyes. The eyes were once chosen by humans as the window to the soul, and since he won't look into her deep brown eyes, she couldn't look at his glassy purple eyes.

"No no no!" Robin's heart began to race, she didn't want him to think she was upset with him. "It was fine!" She stood, shaking the grass and dirt from her pants, and the boy quickly stood up with her. She looked at him, smiled and then began to watch the birds play.

"They seem to like each other, don't they Robin?" Iceland pointed out, watching how the birds would fly over each other, jump around and often nuzzle each others necks.

"I think they," Robin lifted her fingers into quotation marks. "Like like each other!" Robin blushed as the little birds looked at them both. Lava flew up to her shoulder and began to mess with her hair.

"Maybe we," Iceland glanced down to the floor, witch was a dirt mess. "Should get together too..." Iceland looked up at her with his cute big eyes.

Back To The Past!

Denmark elbowed his little niece in the side. She looked up at him, made a growling noise, and then looked back down. "Somebody's got a crush....!" Denmark began in his little teasing voice. Robin looked into his dark blue eyes, blushed heavily and looked back down.

"You're wrong." She pulled her hair back behind her ears. Denmark had been teasing her about this ever since when she hugged Iceland the last time, he began to blush, but she didn't have any feelings for her.

"Iceland likes you a lot." Denmark ran his arm behind her back and laughed.

Robin grinned as he spoke of it. When she was younger, she loved thinking of herself with him, but now, she's given it up. Norway wouldn't approve of her anyway, she's not good enough for his little brother.

"Norge approves of you." Denmark lifted his hand from her back, and ran it through his blond hair. That's something she's noticed about the Nordic's, they always have blond hair. Though Iceland's is a very off white, she would've never guessed sooner or later his hair will become an complete white at some time.

"Really?" Robin looked up at him with hope, wishing he wasn't making a joke to really bother her. She didn't know him to do so though. His hand was still locked into his golden hair, silently pulling each strand out with stress he's accumulated.

"I promise you, and trust me, some day you will both like each other."  Denmark gave a small grin as he stood up, coughed, and walked out of the room.

Back To The Present!

Robin's face had lit up. His had too, but she was sure that freckles carried heat much better than his did. She ran her fingers down her sides, trying to think of how to handle this, what to think, what to do.

"I think we should." Robin concluding her answer, trying to stop the smile from spreading to her face. Iceland had to smile too, and he looked at her with those glassy purple eyes she adored so much. He jumped forward, hugged her, and then leaned back, smiling at her blushing face.

"You have no idea how much I've longed to do this..." Robin didn't have much else to say before he pressed a kiss to her. She backed up almost immediately, but still allowed him to finish what he'd just started. Finally he moved backwards, and before running off, whispered, "Been waiting all of my life for that."
