Dark Skies

Robin twiddled her thumbs in a very awkward wait. Because of the war that has been taking place in Cambodia at the time, and since Robin has an alliance with Cambodia, she was supposed to back Cambodia up in the war. Sadly, because of Saint Andrea's war with The United States of America, she was short on about a million soldiers. This, not only led her to back out of Cambodia's war, but to also be considered a liar before the countries. Robin assumed a good few of her alliances would be broken, but she couldn't dwell on that now.

Saint Andreas bounced into the room, her high ponytail moving with her. Robin never understood why she put her hair up that way, because Andrea had pretty and long hair. Though, it was best not the question the country who managed to kick America's troops with only two small alliances.

"So...." She sat down, propping her elbows on the marble coffee table in front of them. Robin had taken the small recliner that broke whenever you tried to push out the foot rest, and Andrea had sprawled on her, as she calls it, "love seat". "You got owned by some third world countries, eh?"

Robin had to take a strong liking to the Canadian accent in her voice. Her people, Saint A's as they were referred to, wrote like an American, had a British accent but threw just enough Canadian tone in there to really confuse people. Not like Robin couldn't tell the difference. She'd been friends with Saint Andreas for as long as she could remember.

"Eh? Didn't know you were that Canadian." Robin teased slightly, trying to get Andrea off the subject that she had to back out of a war. Saint Andrea cares a lot for her people, and if that meant breaking an alliance than she wouldn't hesitate to do so.

Andrea lifted her blue eyes to meet Robin's brown ones. "Stop being stereotypical." She added a small laugh at the end, easily showing Robin that she was joking around. Not like Robin would've taken it offensively anyway, she knew that Andrea never meant to offend her. "Like you know..." She said it in such an American teenage girl voice it already made Robin laugh. "All people from that place that I like....well nobody can like...pronounce.....have the weirdest accents like ever....." She paused for a small hair flip. "And they like...can never...say the word despicable...." She stopped, Robin's uncontrollable laughter filling the room.

She paused in-between her heavy breathes, trying to speak. "I....I can....I can say....di-c-pis-a-bile." She buried her head  into her knees, her spine sticking up from her shirt and shaking each time she tried to take a breath. She was out of breathing room already, Andrea always cheered her up.

Andrea, who was managing to keep a straight face, killing Robin even more, pressed on. "What? I didn't hear you."

Robin made choking sounds as she tried to say it, only managing to fail even more. "Dis-pis-a-nile" She began laughing even harder at her own fail, burying her face further into her jeans. Andrea was loosing her straight face, giggles escaping her almost closed lips. Smiles were threatening to come up and break her concentration.

Suddenly, they both had their heads in the rough material of their jeans, desperately trying to suck in oxygen. Saint Andreas lifted her head, her bright blue eyes focusing on Robin. "All jokes aside...." She started, giving Robin a sudden tense filling. She stopped laughing, and returned the nations gaze. "Why did you drop out of Cambodia's war?"

Robin thought about the best way to respond. "I didn't have enough soldiers. My population isn't high anyway, but it's gone down way too much since your revolution, I didn't want to loose anymore troops, so I had to back out." Robin paused. "For the sake of the people." She added, quietly hoping Andrea would understand.

"Yeah that sounds like you." Andrea lifted the mood with the light sarcasm, reminding Robin of Denmark, just because of the way she sounded. Andrea was barely related to Denmark anyway, so why did she act so much like him.

Robin glared at her playfully. "Oh shut up." She pushed back her bangs and let them fall over her cheekbones, lightly forming around them.

Saint Andreas closed her eyes, tilting her head up to the ceiling. "So what are you going to do now?"
