Spamano S.S. (Part 1 + 2)

Limited 3rd person P.O.V.

Spain glanced worriedly at his close friend, former underling, and ex, Romano, who was hiccuping and drunk. "Dios mio... I leave for a hour and this is what I come back to...? Roma must be stressed." The Spanish country thought as his expression became more worried, without him knowing.

"Wha- *hic* What is wrooooong with you, silly tomaaaaato *hic* basterdo?" Romano slurred and hiccuped, looking at Spain with his usual pissed off expression "Y-You look like yo- *hic* your kid just told you they a- *hic* are failing math or something.". Spain let a small smile cross his face as he looked at Romano, but still was being nagged at by his thoughts.

He's usually a happy drunk... Maybe his sober state of mind still effects him?

Something is wrong... Lovi wouldn't get drunk in a hour unless something was really bugging him...

"Actually... Little Tomato? I'm fine, but what's wrong with you?" Antonio asked curiously as he still looked over Romano's current state once more. Messy hair, sleepy eyes, and smelling sweetly strong from all the wine he drank.

"Nothing is wrong! I f-feel *hic* fucking great!!! Do you have anymore- *hic* wine basterdo? Feli drank all mine..." Lovino said, making a pouty face at the end, to emphasize his point.

Antonio usually would've smiled at the cute little pout his former lover was showing off, but frowned instead. "Italy told me you drank all the wine at your house, you also drank all mine too." Spain pointed out. That's when it struck him, did Romano have a problem? This amount of drinking each day, day after day certainly wasn't normal...

Every time he asked Italy about it, the Italian would say "He drinks a ton, gets a huge hangover in the morning, gets the hangover away by sundown or sooner, then-a drinks again. The cycle repeats, the over and over. It's-a really bad ya know to-" Spain completely remembered the small speech Feliciano made, but didn't want to think about that now.

"I... I did not! He's a fucking liar and idiota!" Romano huffed, expression looking pissed.

"No need to get all defensive Roma..." Spain mumbled, absorbed in his thoughts.

"Fuck-a you! I'm not defensive, you're the defensive one, jerk. Getting all worried and shit... I'm not-a kid, and I don't need you being all 'I'm perfectly peachy, like always Roma~, what's wrong with you?'" Romano for sure acting childish but actually was doing a great job at imitating the Spaniard's voice.

The Italians face became more pissed off, along with his voice "Why are you so damn happy all the time anyway!?!".

Antonio was shocked as he still gawked at Romano, for a solid two moments.

"Don't just sit there with wide eyes like a idiot, answer me." Romano hissed out.

"Lovi... You're drunk." Spain bluntly said, still staring.

"No fucking duh." Lovino replied with a eye roll, then huffed again, looking away.

What's wrong with him!? He is never like this when drunk!

Antonio could almost sense it, the barely shown sadness on his little south Italian. After years and years of experience with his fiery brunette, he knew how to detect almost every emotion on him.

Spain hugged Romano from behind, nuzzling his shoulder, exactly like he always did while they were dating. Instead of getting the relaxation and calmness he had wanted from Lovino, Antonio felt the Italian tense up and shake.

"Let. Go. Of. Me." Lovino spat out in a angry voice and Spain slowly obeyed.

"Romano, please, what's wrong?" The usually happy Spanish man whispered cautiously, sensing the bomb he had just set off.

Romano whipped his head towards Spain, pure anger in his eyes "FINE! Want to really know what's wrong!? I still can't fucking get over you. I know you've moved on to that stupid Bulgarian but I still love you dammit! And that first week we split, you were perfectly fine, hanging out with friends, partying, then whoop dee do, not even four days after we were done, you get yourself a waffle girlfriend! Do... Do you even understand how much that hurt!?"

"Dating someone else so soon after a person who you were with, for THREE YEARS nevertheless, makes the person you left behind feel like shit, you know why!? It makes it seem like I was never going to be anything permanent and that you have a backup in a instant... And... And... I FUCKING HATE YOU!!!" Lovino's drunk vibe seemed to disappear when his anger came into full volume, but soon came back as the Italian harshly but shakily stood up from Spain's couch.

"Roma-" Antonio started but was quickly cut off.

"Don't you dare 'Roma' me! I'm done with your bullshit!" Romano's words were almost venomous. The Italian put on a bold face then left Spain's house.

I didn't get to explain...

(Part 2)

Antonio gave himself five minutes to think.

What am I going to say? Will the truth be enough?

The Spaniard refused at this point to get his hopes up, but a small bit of his mind did want Lovino back, even though it was nine months since they split. Ah forget it, at this point he for sure wanted Romano by his side but didn't want to be shot down and feel awful.

After a good time thinking, Spain got up and out the house. As he walked down the cold street, his mind raced even more, to thoughts he wish he didn't think.

I miss being the one he always came to, since he usually doesn't have anyone else...

Does he really hate me?

His whole mind was striking himself hard, but Antonio managed to shift over to where Romano might be instead. Eventually, he figured it out. The park. That one park Lovino always strolled in and his away from people in the summer, then come up with excuses to go to it at all the other seasons.

Spain's route went towards the park, trying to keep his nerves down the best he could. At the park he saw Romano.
Lovino, forever his little tomato, whether the Italian wanted the name or not. The younger country was sitting at a bench, tears going down his face but glaring forward instead of speaking.

It was obvious the Italian saw the new arrival but decided to ignore him. Antonio took a breath in and sat beside Romano, then started to say "Lovino...".

((Three endings. I just really liked writing this))

Dramatic ending

Antonio was quickly cut off by the fiery brunette "No.".

"Lovino. Listen, please. I can ex-".

Romano calmly, almost too calmly cut him off again, looking at Spain "Explain? Fine. Explain everything. I must be a idiot and not see what you're seeing, so tell me basterdo, what was the whole deal? The fuck am I missing?".

Lovino's voice was challenging and sharp, like he was daring Spain to say it.

Antonio was shocked but quickly got over it, taking a deep breath and starting what he repeated to himself would be his answer. The air was tense and almost frozen, and the coldness of the night was not helping but Spain broke it.

"I truly thought you didn't care anymore. When we broke up, you seemed to be drifting away from me, no matter how hard I tried to keep you close. The partying was to keep me from feeling down, since I don't like feeling anything but happy. Belgium was just a petty attempt to keep me from... From missing you. I'm sorry I didn't see how upset you are and were earlier, but you kept avoiding me! I'm so, so, so sorry Romano. If you never want to see me again, that's fine... As long as you get happy." Spain topped it off with his most realistic happy smile, in attempt to forget the last sentence he said.

Never see Lovino again... Oh god...

Romano's face went emotionless as he looked at the ground, thinking. The air went more tense then before, Spain worried as hell at what the response and reaction might be,

After a couple minutes of that, Lovino looked up at Spain slowly then smacked him on the head.

"I understand but....Why didn't you say something sooner you idiot!?" Romano mumbled with a obviously fake angry tone and Spain smiled.

He for sure convinced his Roma to stay around.

Sad ending

Spain kept talking but before he could get past a few words, Lovino stood up, tears in his eyes.

"No Spain. Just..... Just no." Romano walked away without another word, Spain giving in and not saying a word.

From that day forward, Lovino successfully avoided Antonio, for a long time, before Spain just stopped trying to get in contact. Who could blame the Italian? The last person he could trust hurt his life, just like everyone else...

Antonio really couldn't blame anything on his tomato ever anyway...

Simple and happy ending

Romano looked at Spain, listening to his explanation calmly.

"Lovino, I love you more then anything, I truly do, and if I had known you were upset, I would've said something sooner. Please forgive me. I know I don't deserve it, but I promise that if you give me a second chance, I'll make your world the best it can be, or try my very best to get it happy. I never liked Belgium. The only reason I accepted her request for a date in the first place was because I was trying to escape my emotions. Please forgive me." Spain said quickly and Lovino's eyes lightened up in understanding.

"Fine. I forgive you... But how much do you love me now?".

Spain smiled and then took Romano's hand, starting to lead him back to the house. "I'll show you.".

then they got home and the love/hate lemony smutty frickle frackle happened, just like they did when they were dating and they got back together again and lived happily ever

FUCKING

after, until Germany started World War 3 with Isis.
