Spain will sometimes just slip out of his forever happy zone, usually every twenty years and the longest this has gone was a month and the shortest was fifteen minutes. When he is out of the 'happy zone' he'll throw items (like books), sob, scream, ruin everything around him. This only happens when he is alone and there seems to not be any cause of it. No one knows about it, even with that one month period, since he acts like his normal self when around others at these times. The reason he does this is to vent.
He isn't clueless or stupid, as a former pirate and a former great, all the things get to him, like Romano's actions, being called a pedophile, being underestimated and so much more.
Letting all the emotions out at once is dangerous but he figures it's better then the other options.
