–––––––––––––––––
At the age of thirteen, everyone had permanent words inscribed on their left wrist.
Everyone (Name) knew had those special words.
So, why didn't she?
Her parents told stories of how the inscriptions were your soulmate's first words to you. When (Name)'s mother met her father, his first words to here were: 'You've taken my breath away.' That matched (Mum)'s inscription. (Dad)'s permanent words were: 'I will when I punch that grin off your face.' Those were (Mum)'s first words to him.
(Name) looked at her bare wrist.
Nothing.
Why?
She didn't understand.
At thirteen, you were supposed to get those special words. She was now nineteen. She's lived six years without having any clue of who her soulmate could be. (Name) sighed, pulling he covers over her face. "Whyyyyyyyy," (Name) groaned, slapping her pillow. "After a long, painful week, I have to go to morning classes." She tilted her head, so she was looking out the window, and lay there. The (Nationality) girl gazed at the sky.
Her eyes focused around the rising orb. The orb, that provided Earth with light and warmth. The orb that painted surrounding clouds with colours of orange, yellow and pink. It was welcoming, and nostalgic. Not the good kind of nostalgia. It reminded (Name) of the promise she made to herself.
(Name) and (Ex's name) walked along the rocky path, hand in hand. "Tell me where we're going," (Name) pleaded. Her lover hummed in response, and turned to the girl. "Wait and see," they teased, before whistling a tune. The fifteen year old groaned, following the steps of her special one. "You know, if you were someone else, you'd be dead," (Name) bluntly stated, swinging her arm, "I mean, you woke me at half-past-four, and it's nearly five-twenty, so..."
(Ex's name) chuckled. "Yeah, I know. I just wanted you to see something. You'll love it. We're nearly there, anyways." Abandoning the rocky path, (Name) followed (Ex's Name) lead. True to their words, the couple shortly made it to their destination. "We're here," (Ex's name) exclaimed, (eye colour) eyes glimmering. There, the lovers stood, embraced as one, on a grassy hill, with a beautiful view of the town. "Beautiful..." The (hair colour) haired girl murmured.
"If you think this is beautiful, just wait for a few minutes." And so, the show started. An array of warm colours lit the horizon, like multiple chalk balloons exploding on a canvas of navy. (Name) always had an artistic eye for such things. "You're right. This is stunning. If only beautiful things lasted forever..." The girl exclaimed, eyes darting from colour to colour. This is the time to be smooth, (Ex's Name) thought. "Well, if time was a beauty, you would be limitless." A grin jumped on (Name)'s face, as they both watched the sunrise.
"Yeah. So beautiful," (Name) sarcastically remarked, "I should start getting ready... I have morning classes." The salty girl pushed the covers off herself and slumped. From the corner of her eyes, she noted the time. 5:54AM. "I have plenty of time," (Name) sighed. "I guess I should get started with my routine."

It didn't take long at all. Doing the same routine everyday soon became a habit. It was almost like second instinct. For a routine that consisted of changing clothes, washing and cleaning, you'd expect (Name) to complete it effortlessly. However, the girl was a heavy procrastinator, and a perfectionist. The girl sighed, "Now that everything's done, I should get going." Grabbing her bag, wallet and breakfast, (Name) made haste.
(Name) bolted through the door of her small apartment. Running down the stairs, at lightning speed, (Name) slammed into the lobby doors, tripping on some tangled chords. "What thE SHIT!" Apart from (Name)'s groans, the lobby was dead silent. Everyone stopped and turned to see what the commotion was about. Then, a chuckle broke the silence. "Oh dear, (Name). This is, like, the eighth time it's happened in three days. You should be more careful, ya' know."
A hand reached out to the fallen girl, however she just slapped it away. "I'm not in the mood, Christian. If you can't tell, I'll be late if I keep up the small talk." Christian, the receptionist, chuckled again. "Oh, how you hurt me," he stated, dramatically placing a hand over his heart, before continuing. "I just wanted to help a friend in need, yet I was just rejected like a broken toy. Oh, the agony." Picking herself up and gathering her scattered belonging, the girl snorted at the remark, before running past the receptionist. "I'll see you later, Chris! Don't work too hard today!"
"Dear me. She's awfully clumsy, yet all she cares about is others' wellbeing. Now-" walking back behind the counter and flashing his all-too-known grin, he resumed, "-how may I help you?"

"Hey, (Name)! Over here!" (Name)'s head shot to the direction where the sound came from. It was her friend (Friend's name). Picking up her pace, the girl tossed the empty drink box into the nearest bin. "Long time, no see," the (Nationality) girl declared, with a shit-eating grin. "You look as old as our English teacher!" (Friend's name) groaned, ignoring the statement. "Hurry up, you useless mandarin peel. We'll be late for roll call, and I don't want to be late because your arse couldn't run any faster." (Name) chuckled before running after her friend.
"What's got your panties in a twist? Did something happen, or someone?" The (hair colour) head teased. Snorting, her friend replied with a pissed 'no.' (Name) sneered, dropping her bag on the bench outside of her classroom. While walking in line, she tripped. "OH you eat vegetables and sadness for brunch!"
Many people gave her looks, in which she responded with glares. When her classmates didn't turn away, she growled. "Back up, hoes. People fall all the time. Just go back to whatever you were doing." (Name) walked in line, ignoring the stares. "You are very strange, (Name). Like, you're all pissy at everyone that annoys you, but you have infinite patience for you friends. Why?" (Name) snorted. "That's true. But that's for me to know, and you to find out."
A few minutes later her teacher arrived. It took long enough. Too long—all the other classes were in their rooms. "At least he didn't forget his keys this time," (Name) muttered as she walked into her classroom.
(Name) ignored the teacher until the bell went off, heading to her first subject. English. How she hated it because of her teacher. The girl cringed, remembering one of many spelling errors the teacher made. And she's the English teacher. She soon walked into the classroom, ignoring all the other students, until the teacher walked in.
"Students, we have a new student. Please make him feel welcomed." The way this teacher talked. The teacher would always say 'students' with an ear-bleeding hiss. It was absolutely horrible.
"Romano, please go sit next to (Name). (Name) raise your hand," the teacher ordered, getting her role and marking who was in the class. The boy did, scowling at (Name) when he sat down. "Stop being a little shit, Romano," (Name) sneered. Romano just looked at (Name), wide eyed, before looking at his wrist, and then flipping her off. (Name) was about to look as well, but she got caught up. "(Name), can you show Romano around school?"
The girl groaned, before agreeing. "When? Now?" The teacher nodded and shooed her and Romano off. Romano glared at the girl as he followed her out the classroom. When they walked further away from the class, (Name) turned around and pushed Romano. "What was that scowling bullshit?" She commanded.
Romano stayed silent, glaring and flipping her off again. (Name) growled and pinned Romano to the floor. She was about to slap his face but was stopped by a wrist. A left wrist, to be exact. She read the words.
Stop being a little shit, Romano.
(Name)'s heart skipped a beat. She held Romano's wrist, rereading it multiple times to make sure, until a tear dropped onto Romano's cheek. "Y-you're... mute..." Romano nodded, wiping the tear off the (Name)'s cheek. "And... that's why I don't have those words..." Romano nodded again. By the time (Name) finished her sentence, she was bawling her eyes out. Romano picked the crying girl up and walked her out of school.
Romano had walked (Name) to the place her Ex was; the same hill she watched the sunset. "Why'd you bring me here, Romano?" She asked with a tear stained face. Romano blushed, looking away before doing something that made (Name)'s heart explode with joy. He pecked her cheek and looked away with a tomato face. The girl's face was like a tomato, too. The tomato soulmates.
(Name) started crying again. "Thank you..." she murmured into Romano's chest. "Thank you..."
