Tino made his way to a small restaurant. He had a small smile on as he admired the snowy scenery, his dark gray shoes clicking softly on the pavement. He wore a maroon-ish purple coat with a greige scarf and gray pants, as it was a bit chilly out(translation for non-northerners= very very cold). He entered the restaurant and felt a warm gust of wind welcome him as he stepped inside. He was a regular there, so the owner, who also worked the cash register, greeted him happily.
"Why hello there, Tino! How are you today?" he said. Tino giggled.
"Hello! I'm doing alright, how's the shop been doing? Has it been growing the past week like you predicted?" he replied, stopping by the register and smiling warmly. The owner huffed a laugh.
"Yeah, a bit! Though not as much as I had hoped, but that's alright though. There's always a next week!" he chuckled. That's right, today was Saturday, and things were relaxing a bit around town, as people were taking breaks from work and staying at home more. "Well, I got a friend of yours here. Said he was waiting for you to come, why don't go join him? It's been a while," the elderly-looking man offered warmly. Tino nodded in agreement and looked around at the tables. He saw his 2p, Thurston, leaning against the wall at the table in the corner between the wall and the wall-sized glass window. He had a dark red coat on with the hood pulled up, asleep. Tino went over to him and nudged him awake. Thurston woke up with a hum of confusion, before looking up to glare at the person who had disturbed his precious sleep. Upon realizing who it was, his face softened, and he sat up and patted the seat next to him, to which Tino happily obliged.
"Sorry for being so late, Thurston! I woke up a bit late since my alarm didn't go off.." he explained quickly, not wanting to upset him. Thurston simply nodded and folded his arms, leaning back against the cushioned seat.
"It's fine. At least I got to take a quick nap before you got here," he replied monotonously, though Tino could still tell he wasn't upset. He sighed in relief.
"Well that's good! Do you want me to order anything real quick?" Tino offered. Thurston nodded, as he had fallen asleep almost immediately upon sitting down. Tino waved his hand up and gestured the old man over. The owner came over not even a minute later. Tino looked up at him with a smile. "Can we get something to eat? Just the usual," he said. The man nodded.
"Sure thing!" he said with a grin and turned toward the kitchen. Tino turned back to Thurston who was already watching him back. Thurston had immediately looked away. Tino held back a chuckle.
"So, Thurston, how are you?" Did you have a good morning?" Thurston shrugged.
"Okay, I guess. Bernard's being a clingy ass as usual and Lokki almost set the entire kitchen on fire again," he replied stagnantly. Tino felt a bit worried but nodded nonetheless.
"Well, Peter's off on a play date with Wendy today, so the others have a day off now. Though I can only imagine what sort of nonsense Matthias is getting himself into right now," Tino finished with a chuckle. Thurston let out an breathy snort and rolled his eyes.
"I bet that must be pretty tiring for poor Lukas, huh?" Tino made a small giggle and leaned on his hand, still facing his companion.
"Yeah, but he's used to it by now 'cause they're dating now and all," he replied with a smile. Thurston rose a brow.
"Someone finally confessed? Who was the coward that finally decided to be slightly less cowardly?" he asked, half joking of course. Tino grinned.
"You wouldn't believe it, it was actually Lukas who did! Matthias had a bad case of cold feet so we had to nudge them a bit." Thurston chuckled.
"Sounds about right." They chatted for awhile more even after they received their food. Now Thurston was walking Tino home.
Tino turned to Thurston when they reached his home. "Well, I best be seeing you!" he smiled brightly. Thurston nodded curtly with a small smile of his own. "It was fun talking with you. We should do this again some time!" Thurston followed him to the front door.
"Yeah." Tino unlocked it, but before opening it he turned and quickly pulled his counterpart in a hug, preventing him from escaping. Thurston gasped softly but slowly returned the hug. Tino pulled away, looking more happier than ever.
"This is a goodbye for now, okay? I'll see you later!" he exclaimed. Thurston nodded and simply stared, in a slight daze. Tino turned back and opened the door then Thurston watched as the house swallowed him up.
"...Bye, I guess..."
