North Korea, or Im Hyung Soo, stared out the window of the taxi. He had taken a plane to Canada to visit his beloved Matthew. You see, they've been together for three years, and only recently engaged. Hyung Soo was known for being protective of Matthew, and frequently going off on his brother, America, for being insensitive toward him and forgetting him, as usual. He also loves to show the Canadian much affection, though not as much in public for reasons only a shy person like himself would understand.
The taxi had stopped at the end of the street that Mattie lived on. Hyung Soo paid the driver and thanked him curtly before grabbing his things and stepping out of the bright yellow car. He watched as it drove away before turning and making his way down the sidewalk. It was a nice day out, though it was to be expected since it was in the middle of spring. A soft breeze blew past him as he reached the small two-story house near the end of the street. He reached the front door and knocked on it gently, but loud enough for Matthew to hear. I hope he's doing okay, he sighed as he heard the door unlock. I heard Alfred really did it this time in upsetting him. The door opened and a tired-looking, lavender-eyed Canadian peeked through the crack. Hyung Soo smiled.
"Hey, thought I'd visit you after hearing about your brother insulting your country's habits again," he said. Matthew smiled back and opened it more.
"Thanks, Hyung. Come on in," he yawned, guiding the North Korean inside and shutting the door behind him. Hyung Soo took his shoes off by the front door and stepped into the living room, sitting on the soft, beige couch. He looked around. It wasn't too much different from the looks of his winter house, which happens to be a cabin in the middle of nowhere, so he saw. Matthew came in with a plate of muffins, which he sat on the coffee table before sitting down next to his fiancé and sighing.
"Thanks for showing that you care about me, really. I wasn't expecting you to come all the way here from across the Pacific," he said, giggling a bit. "A phone call would've been sufficient." Hyung Soo pouted and hugged him tightly.
"But dear, that isn't enough for me. I must make sure you're truly okay and if I need to beat him up again," he protested into Mattie's shoulder. "I got enough missiles for it." Matthew giggled and hugged back.
"Now, I'm sure that'll be unnecessary. But a good scolding and flipping him off at the next meeting would suffice for me," he whispered gingerly, though Hyung Soo could clearly tell he was still angry at the American. Hyung Soo took a muffin and bit into it, relishing its taste.
"That'll be fine too, my love," he said, taking another bite and leaning on the armrest. Matthew smiled and laid his head against the other's chest.
"I'm just glad you came to check on me. It's one of the many reasons why I love you so," he mumbled. The latter smiled and finished his muffin before holding the Canadian closer to him. They stayed like that for a while, just cuddling silently. It wasn't awkward, just comforting.
