Canada (Matthew Williams) X Vietnam (Lien Chung)
Weird Author Note: This one-shot is set in a human AU, at a graduation. The song used in this is "A Closing Prayer" by Don Besig. My apologize for it being so late. If this was cringy, or bad, just give me the words, and I will rewrite it when I have the time to. I hope you enjoy it.

"...God bless us and return us, to this fellowship once again. Amen, amen, amen, amen."
Word fades away as the choir enter decrescendo. The piano accompaniment came to a pause. Loud clapping and cheering roared from the audience in front of the graduates of the school year 2016-2017. One of them was Lien Chung, the exchange student of that year eighth grade. Tears trickled down her eyes as she looked around at her classmates. Although it was a small class of seven students, they had bonded closely with each other through all the years studying together. Everyone was going different paths after this. Who knows when they are going to see each other again.
For the special occasion, the seventh graders had worked hard to decorate the gym. Blooming gardenias adorned the big room with their pristine white petals. Royal blue and gold ribbon hung across the stage and ceiling. Neat rows of chairs lined up across the middle of the gym for the audience. At the back table, two cupcake stands full of cupcakes looked as beautiful as a pretty tier cake. The sanctuary looked the same; however, a banner with "Congratulation 8th Graders for Graduating." hung across the balcony of the second floor. Everyone was dressed nicely either in a neat tuxedo, or in a nice dress for the formal event.
"I am going to miss--" Mei choked on her words, unable to say the whole sentence. She brought everyone--Lien, Matthew, Ivan, Alfred, Lily, and Elizabeta--together in a big group hug. Tear fell down their cheeks as the hug tightened. After wiping their tears away and saying their blessings to one another, the class started chatting heartily as they always did for one last time before the final goodbye...
Under the moonlit sky of that night, in front of the school, Lien, Mei, Lily, Elizabeta, Matthew, Alfred, and Ivan stood, waving goodbye to their guests. Their conversation was still going on. Alfred joked about how he would tell the students in his new high school about the monstrosity of Elizabeta's weird hiccups/burps, making the Hugarian girl flushed red. She tackled Alfred, shouting loudly: "I wish I wasn't in the same high school as you, you, you--" Alfred smiled as he tried to push the furious girl of him. The other stood around, laughing hysterical as they tried to separate the two before a fight broke out. Lien giggled at her two classmates. If only we did not have to say goodbye... If only this day would last forever.
"So, I guess this is it, then." Matthew gazed at the moon as he spoke softly to Lien.
"Yeah... You're going to back to Canada, the rest of us are pretty much over here in the U.S, just more spread out now." Lien nodded her head. Goodbyes always seemed so hard to her. It was difficult to let go and say goodbye for her. Matthew grabbed her hand and held them tightly, surprising Lien, making her turned to face him with a flushed face.
"M--Mathew?" She stuttered as she gazed into his violet irises.
"S--Sorry, I didn't mean to startled you. It's just--just--" Matthew's face turned crimson as he turned his head away. "I r--really l--like you." He whispered quietly. Lien's felt blood raced to her cheeks, heating them up. She tried to calm down her racing heart and heavy breathing. How should she answer? She was never ready for this. She just wanted to focus on her studies right now.
"I'm sorry Matthew. I can't accept your feeling. I'm just not--not ready yet--" Lien answered softly with her best composure after she had calmed down. A feeling of guilt nagged her as she spoke those words as she had to break Matthew's--her best friend's--heart. Matthew sighed and smiled sadly.
"It's okay, I understand. It's pretty sudden. I just feel like I need to tell you this before we all go away and possibly never meet each other again." He mumbled and turned away. Lien quickly grabbed his hands, making the boy faced her with a surprised gaze. She held his hands tightly between hers. Her sympathizing gaze stared into his sad violet ones.
"Maybe not now. But we can meet together in the future. Maybe then, it might just work out between you, and me. This is just not the time for me, yet. Maybe in the future, but not now. I hope you understand--" Lien smiled and explained softly just as a staff of the school told them all the guests were gone and they needed to return home.
"But, what if we never meet again--" Matthew asked but never got a chance to finish as Mei interrupted.
"You don't need to worry about that, Matt." Mei cheerfully said as she patted his back.
"Yeah. We will meet again in the future. I will make sure of that." Ivan smiled as he squeezed Matthew's shoulder.
"We just need to keep in touch, and things will work out." Lily stated confidently.
"Don't worry, bro. We'll make sure you love bir--I mean we all get together in the future." Alfred quickly dropped his jokes as Elizabeta pinched him on the arm with all her might. She then placed their hands on her left hand.
"This is not going to be our final goodbye. We will meet again. Like what the last song says, "God bless us, and--"
"Return us to this fellowship, once again."
-The End?-
