She was a soldier (Fem!Germany/Italy)

Louise Beilshmidt wasn't an emotional person. And she prided herself on that. Being a soldier, she really couldn't stop to think about what she was doing. Or about who died in the process.

With a sigh, she sat down cross legged on the floor of her bedroom. There was nothing there: a bed, a desk, a closet full of starch white shirts. But the desk drawer was pulled open and on the floor.

Had someone broken in? For a moment she was mildly concerned. Then again, nothing in her room was really worth stealing. It was probably just Feliciano looking for her keys to the pantry again.

She had to resist smiling. That boy would be the death of her.

Louise started rifling through the papers that had been pulled out. Official looking documents that she had by now forgotten, letters she received from her brother... Photographs.

One of them made her pause. She didn't smile; she didn't smile a lot in general. But she propped her chin up in her hands, blistered fingers buried in her short hair, as she remembered.

"Lou!" Feliciano Vargas cried out when he saw her. His smile was as wide as the moon. "I haven't seen you in ages! I want to hug you!"

"W-what?!" Oh no. He wasn't actually going to hug her, would he?

Feli wrapped arms around her neck and nuzzled her. "Louise, carry me back to camp. 'M sleepy. Grazie~"

She stopped walking stubbornly. "Nein. If I carry you then tomorrow I won't be able to load the guns into the back of the tank. You'll hurt my back."

"I thought you were supposed to be all big and strong, hm~?" Feli lifted his head off her shoulder slightly.

"..." She just crossed her arms. He'd get off of her, she was positive. He was not that persistent. He'd get bored.

"...will a kiss make you change your mind?" Feli asked slyly, before pecking her cheek.

Her mind froze. Did...did he just really...?

"...Louise?! Ve~ I'm sorry, please don't decide not to give me lunch! I'm just hungry! I--"

And for some reason Kiku had brought his camera with him to training that day. Lucky for him, and maybe for Feliciano -- but unlucky for her.

Louise put the photograph down on her lap with a sigh. She remembered that day like it had been yesterday.

She hadn't spoken to Feliciano about it since then though. It didn't matter. They were soldiers, anyway.

Even if she didn't have completely platonic feelings for the man, she knew nothing could come of it. Louise turned around from the photograph, from the memory, and walked back out of the room.
