Kiku was a typical gamer teenage boy.

He was a bit of a shut-in with few friends and minimal social skills. Most people ignored him, including bullies like the BTT gang. He got surprisingly good grades in class, so teachers never really got on his case about focusing in class.

Despite his personality, Kiku was very attractive. He had short raven black hair and stoic dark chocolate eyes with pale flawless skin. He actually looked a bit feminine at first glance and was a tad short for his age, but he cared not.

Arthur, on the other hand, was a typical  high school nerd.

He had next to no friends, but didn't spend much time looking for friends because he was usually studying or reading. Since he was a nerd, he often got bullied, especially by the BTT gang. Being a nerd, he was always top of the class on tests and such, so teachers loved him.

He, like Kiku, was also quite good-looking. He had messy blond hair and pale lightly freckled skin. His most shocking features were his giant black eyebrows and brilliant emerald green eyes.

Both boys were in the same class, but neither liked talking, so they never introduced themselves to the other.

(Onto the actual story!)

Kiku sighed. He liked math, but today was Friday, he wanted to go home and try out his new online game he found last night.

Most people loved Fridays, but not Kiku. School seemed to go even slower than normal (which is saying a lot LOL).

Finally, he heard the bell and Naruto ran out of the class room.

He actually ran all the way to his house, 

He unlocked his front door and took off his shoes, quietly walking into his house. He found a note on the table from his mother.

It read- Kiku,

Your father and I are out. I had an emergency at work and your father is working overtime tonight. Sorry about the short notice. See you tomorrow morning.

-Mom

Kiku sighed, deciding not to text his parents right that moment.

Se went unto his room and checked his social media before logging into his new game.

He smiled as he designed his character. 

Character name: Japan>9000!

Occupation: Treasure Hunter

Skills: Archery, Shooting, Liquid Water Magic, Knife Throwing

Weaknesses: Summoning Magic, Charisma, Boomerangs 

He clicked enter, ready to start the game.

Usually, Arthur would be studying right now, but, he was having a bad day. He needed a pick-me-up.

A new online game? Why not?

Arthur made an account and personalized his avatar.

Character name: SconeMage13

Occupation: Wizard

Skills: Lightning Magic, Summoning Magic, plant Magic, Light Magic

Weaknesses: Charisma, Dark Magic, Reflection Magic

He checked his work before starting the game

(With Kiku)

The game started. Kiki noticed that he needed money to buy equipment and food, so, being a treasure hunter, he had to look for treasure.

About an hour went by and Kiku finally found something. A large glittering blue vase, it looked expensive. That was good enough for him.

He noticed that someone else wanted to go on the same mission. SconeMage13? 

Kiku shrugged and decided to let him come along.

(An hour later...)

A dragon was guarding the vase so it took a long time to defeat it.

SconeMage13 was a big help, so Kiku sent him a message via the game.

Japan>9000!: Hey, good job out there, you're really good!

SconeMage13: Eh?! Really?! Thanks!

Japan>9000!: Want to partner up on missions?

SconeMage13: Sure!

Kiku sighed. If only befriending people in real life was this easy.

SconeMage13: I have to go! I have a lot of studying to do.

Japan>9000!: Will you be online tomorrow?

SconeMage13: I don't see why not. What time do you want to play?

Japan>9000!: Does 10 AM work?

SconeMage13: Yes, see you then!

Japan>9000!: Bye!

Arthur smiled. That was really fun! He looked forward to tomorrow.

(Time-skip a month later)

Arthur walked to school with his head down. Yes, he loved school, but the BTT were always cranky on Mondays and usually took it out on him.

Unfortunately, he bumped into Gilbert.

Gilbert turned around, glaring at Arthur, his ruby eyes seething.

"Oi, Brit, watch where you wander."

"Sorry, Gilbert, I was spacing out."

Gilbert sighed. "I guess it's fine."

"R-really?"

"NEIN! Fran, Toni, let's teach him a lesson!"

(With Kiku)

Kiku frowned. Sure, he was in chemistry, one of his favorite classes, but something was off. Something was MISSING.

Of course, he knew what it was, a certain Brit wasn't here.

Kiku tended to be very observant, so far since seventh grade, Arthur had never missed a class.

He patiently waited for class to end before swiftly leaving, avoiding the strange looks from his classmates.

He found the Brit laying in a pool of blood, his face bruised and his eyes closed.

Inside Kiku was furious, but being the stoic teen he was, he just said in quite a calm voice. "Ah, there you are, Arthur-san."

He picked him up, and went to the office.

He hid the Brit's body in the corner and told the office that he felt sick, so they lithium leave.

Luckily, Kiku's parents weren't home, he didn't want to explain why there was a random guy sleeping on his futon.

Kiku played the brit down and cleaned up his wounds the best he could, though, he was pretty sure Arthur's leg was broken, and didn't know what to do about that.

(One hour time-skip)

Arthur woke up in a room he had never been in before.

The walls were so covered in anime posters that he couldn't see the actual wall. The floor was stone tile and he was laying on some sort of mattress... thing.

He sat up, wincing slightly. He saw a boy playing silently on the computer.

Arthur cleared his throat.

"Em... where am I?"

The boy flinched in shock and turned around.

"Ah, you're awake Arthur-san. How do you feel?"

Arthur shrugged. "Okay I guess, except for my leg."

The boy nodded. "As I suspected."

"Sorry... you are?"

"Please excuse me, I am Kiku Honda. I found you passed out in the hall at school, so I brought you to my home."

"Oh... thank you, sorry for bothering you."

"I do not mind."

Kiku noticed his eyes. They were beautiful and so full of life.

Kiku frowned at his computer.

"What is it?" Arthur asked.

"My partner hasn't logged on yet."

"Wait... what game is it?"

"Anime or Bust."

Arthur had a realization. "What's your partner's username?"

"SconeMage13."

"Kiku... are you... Japan>9000! ?"

Kiku's eyes widened.

"Arthur, I-"

"I never thought my partner would have been so handsome." Arthur realized what he said. "A-ah! I'm sorry, I-"

Kiku slammed his soft lips onto Arthur's before immediately pulling back. They were both red in the face.

"What in the world was that?! I'm so sorry! Please-"

"Kiku," Arthur interrupted. "I think we feel the same way."
