Appearance: long wavy dark coal black hair and bright smiling sunset orange eyes with flecks and streaks of lilac are her most notable features, along with her near ever-present smile and tattooed lips and chin. Iolana has a dark complexion deepened by long exposure to the sun and a slightly heavyset frame that stands at about 5'3. She isn't fat (and woe to any who call her so) though she isn't in between; more somewhat of in the middle of the two. This is due largely in part to her low metabolism though not entirely as a good bit of her weight is pure muscle obtained from repeatedly climbing rocky cliffs and volcanoes.
Despite this she still holds a somewhat curvy figure and lets it be known by wearing a bikini at nearly all times. Though she is quite modest and uses cover ups. Find of bright colors she tends to wear bright 'in your face' hues. Her bikini is blue with prints of "Hawaiian grass" all over in lighter blue. Over the bottoms she wears a neon orange wrap around that is tied into a knot at her left hip, it comes down to about her knee in the right and the left slits up to the knot where it is tied. However, when by herself or around family she tends to change this out for a traditional grass skirt and bright red wrap around top (for modesty).
She can always be found with flowers adorning her hair and ankles as well as occasionally on her wrists and donning a lei, though not always. Not only does she have traditional tattoos on her chin and lips but also on the outside of her calves as well, predominantly a sea turtle on each, an addition that was made well after she received the tattoos on her face.
Iolana's natural tan isn't perfect though as she bears a few scars (as most nation beings tend to) most notably a small vertical line on her bottom lip where it was badly busted long ago and a diagonal gash line along her right thigh from hip to knee.

Personality: energetic, spirited, and always up for exploration Iolana isn't one easily put down unless you know to hit where it hurts, yet even then she will find a way to pull back up and finish the race. With a bubbly and kind disposition she would seem to make friends easily, however, her shyness towards strangers manages to get in the way. But she won't let that stop her if someone is truly in need of help or guidance.
With a sometimes upside down view of things accompanied by her overeagerness Iolana can often be misunderstood and her thoughts lost in translation but she means well and likes to say that "it's the thought that counts". Not one to add up the bad times she prefers to look forward towards the future and live in the present than dwell on the past. She is deeply devoted to family and insists on showering you with affection and at least one gift of she happens to find out she's related to someone and didn't know it. And to those she is already familiar with be prepared for pranks, hugs, giggles, cooking, and laughs galore.
Iolana admires those who have been through tough times but have managed to not only survive but pick up the pieces and find a way to strive on through life. As she was only half able to do so herself.
She has a deep respect for nature and despises seeing it destroyed or used in waste and isn't afraid to show her mind when confronted with such. Poachers beware: she has a nasty reputation for giving any unlawful or unjust hunter a good beat down. Stature matters not when the matters of the heart and martial arts are concerned...

She gives any and every family (and close friends) member a personalized and handmade lei should they visit her.

Iolana is a professional dancer and choreographer and is always quick and eager to learn new dances (her favorites are olden traditional dances and face paced storytellings).

She received her name because she loves to jump off of cliffs and dice down into the water below (that she makes sure is deep enough first) and always seems to fly gracefully while doing so.
On that note she is also a self-professioned diver.
