People thought that Romania was Vlad the Impaler and a vampire because of his blood-red eyes, torturing him. Stabbing him with stakes all over his body, especially the heart.

They tied him to a wooden pole, trying to burn him alive. It didn't work and so they proceeded to lashing him. Romania felt undeniable pain like never before, the pain is second to war.

Unable to kill him with their methods, they left him to die in the hot sun. No food, water, shelter, nothing. He was even lucky that he still has his clothes.

During those days, he lived in pure misery and humiliation.

He was only freed when Bulgaria came to rescue him.
