Introduction

In my first book, I wrote a side chapter about my thoughts on the U.S. territories as Hetalia OCs. In summary of those thoughts, I originally didn't create them due to a lack of understanding of the subject at the time which prevented me from writing stories about them.

But since then, I've gained an understanding of the U.S. territories, enough to create OCs and have their character profiles in this section. Admittedly, they won't be shown as often as my 50 States OCs, but they'll make appearances in my stories.

These OCs are obviously not official, nor are they perfect. Even so, please understand I don't mean any offense to people from these regions. Despite the research I've done on the U.S. territories, I'm prone to mistakes and open to criticism as long as it's proper. I'm also open to making changes for these OCs to better represent these regions. Overall, I hope anyone reading these profiles likes these OCs and the stories they're featured in.

American Samoa

Nickname: Motu o Fiafiaga (Samoan for "Islands of Paradise")

Human Name: Manuia Poyer Jones

Age: 18 Years Old

Gender: Male

Historical Background: The Samoan Islands were inhabited by Polynesians before European intrusion in the 18th century. Throughout the 19th century, various European ships would come to value the islands as a refueling station. In the 1899 Treaty of Berlin, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom agreed to divide the archipelago; the eastern group of islands went to the United States while the western islands went to Germany. On July 17, 1911, portions of the eastern islands were officially named American Samoa. On a side note, American Samoa is an 'unorganized' U.S. territory, therefore those who were born on the islands became American nationals; not American citizens.

Eye Color: Seal Brown

Height: 5' 10" (177 cm)

Notable Traits: In the past, he had long hair until he decided to cut it when he began his military service. Tan skin. He sports a muscular build. Outside his job, he'll usually wear a lava lava (clothing). He has pe'a tattoos on his upper legs and left shoulder.

Favorite Foods & Drinks: Fa'ausi (aka Samoan Coconut Caramel Bread), Oka I'a (fish salad), Palusami (similar to laulau), Panikeke (aka Round Pancakes), Sapasui (chop suey)

Likes: American Football, Samoan Wooden Slit Drums, Siva Afi (dance), Spacecraft, Tuna

Personality: Brawny and Driven. From a young age, he went through tough military training to become a strong, U.S. naval officer. Whenever he's not doing military service, he loves spending his free time in all sorts of sports. He can come off as intimidating, however, he's actually a bit of a softie, especially when it comes to cute things. On a side note, he still keeps in touch with 'Western Samoa'.

Guam

Nickname: Tano y Chamorro (Land of the Chamorro)

Human Name: Guillermo "Gill" Aquino Jones

Age: 15 Years Old

Gender: Male

Historical Background: In 1521, Spanish explorers arrived on the island, naming it Guam Islas de las Velas Latinas ("Islands of the Lateen sails"). On January 26, 1565, the island would be claimed by Spain as a part of the Spanish East Indies. Guam was later transferred to the United States after the end of the Spanish American War in 1898. On December 11, 1941, the island was occupied by the Japanese, however, the island was later liberated by American forces around the end of the war. After World War II, the Guam Organic Act of 1950 established the island as U.S. territory.

Eye Color: Golden Brown

Height: 5' 5" (165 cm)

Notable Traits: Spiky hair. Tan skin. He tends to wear short-sleeved, buttoned shirts and khaki shorts. He walks around with a carved walking stick (even though he has no trouble walking on his own). He likes to get up early in the morning.

Favorite Foods & Drinks: Chorizo Breakfast Bowls (he likes to add Tabasco sauce for some spice), Guam-style Chicken with Red Rice, Guyuria (cookies), Rosketti (cookies), Spam

Likes: Chamorro Pottery, Football (aka Soccer), Playing the Belembaotuyan (musical instrument), Sailing, Weaving

Personality: Resourceful and Respectful. Despite his young age, he tends to act like an old man with his polite manners. Typically, he'll spend his time weaving all sorts of crafts; sometimes he'll give out his handcrafts to tourists for free. Overall, he's a selfless, easygoing person. On a side note, he holds a bit of a grudge against the Northern Mariana Islands.

Northern Mariana Islands

Nickname: Håfa Adai (Chamorro for "Hello")

Human Name: Mariana "Mari" Aquino Jones

Age: 15 Years Old

Gender: Female

Historical Background: In 1521, the Spanish arrived on the island of Guam and claimed the archipelago for Spain; in 1565, the islands were made a part of the Spanish East Indies. In 1668, the islands were renamed Las Marianas in honor of a Spanish regent. After the Spanish American War, the islands were given to Germany in 1899 as a part of German New Guinea, however, they would later be given to Japan after World War I. After World War II, the islands were administered by the United States until they officially became a commonwealth in the United States in 1976. On a side note, there were attempts to reunite the Northern Mariana Islands with Guam, however, the citizens of Guam vehemently refused to reunite the islands.

Hair Color: Dark Chestnut Brown

Eye Color: Olive Green

Height: 5' 0" (154 cm)

Notable Traits: She sports long, wavy hair. Tan skin. She's slightly short in height. She typically wears light clothing. She wears a plumeria flower in her hair. Despite her small stature, she's pretty strong thanks to an active lifestyle.

Favorite Foods & Drinks: Empanadas, Kalamai (pudding), Kelaguen (similar to ceviche), Pancit (noodles), Tinaktak (stir-fry)

Likes: Gambling, Mariana Fruit Doves, Mixed Martial Arts, Plumeria (flowers), Scuba Diving

Personality: Energetic and Thoughtful. Long ago, she was a territory for many countries before she decided on her own to become a part of America. She has ambitions to become a state like Hawaii, however, she has a long way to go before she can become a state. For now, she's settled on spending her energy on various hobbies. On a side note, she wants to reunite with Guam, however, he has rejected the possibility numerous times, much to her disappointment.

Puerto Rico

Nickname: Isla del Encanto (Island of Enchantment)

Human Name: Juan Ricardo Rana Jones

Age: 17 Years Old

Gender: Male

Before Territorial Status: On November 19, 1493, Christopher Columbus arrived on an island inhabited by the Taino, naming it San Juan Bautista; most sailors would later call the island Puerto Rico. The island was ruled and colonized by the Spanish as a New World colony throughout the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. In the latter half of the 19th century, Puerto Rico attempted to free itself from Spanish rule. Consequently, it became a target when the United States declared war on Spain; it was invaded by American troops in 1898. After numerous attempts to become an independent country, Puerto Rico ended up becoming a commonwealth of the United States on July 3, 1952.

Hair Color: Medium Brown

Eye Color: Tawny Brown

Height: 5' 7" (171 cm)

Notable Traits: He has tan skin. He has a stubble beard. Contrary to belief, he likes to be clean; he's a bit of a neat freak. He tends to clap his hand as a sign of gratitude. He has a couple of coqui (frogs) as companions.

Favorite Foods & Drinks: Alcapurrias (fritters), Arroz con Gandules (rice dish), Mofongo (plantain dish), Pasteles (similar to tamales), Piña Coladas (cocktail)

Likes: Baseball, Playing the Puerto Rican Cuatro (string instrument), Puerto Rican Bomba (music), Reggaeton (music), Vejigante Masks

Personality: Comical and Prideful. Most know him for his contributions to American culture; made famous for his memes. Other than that, it's easy to forget him because of his status as a territory which makes him depressed. Despite his hardships, he'll find the courage to pick himself up and find the good in the future. After all, it's thanks to his Puerto Rican Pride he's getting more recognition every day.

U.S. Virgin Islands

Nickname: American Paradise

Human Name: Agnes Jones

Age: 16 Years Old

Gender: Female

Historical Background: The islands were held by various European powers since Christopher Columbus discovered the islands in 1493; the most prominent to own the islands were Denmark and the Danish West Indian Company. In 1867, in fear of the island's diminishing economy, Denmark began to negotiate with the United States over the selling of the islands. The deal was finalized on January 17, 1917. The United States took possession of the islands on March 31, 1917, and the territory was renamed the Virgin Islands of the United States. On June 22, 1936, the U.S. Virgin Islands was able to form its own local government; the 1954 Organic Act would later revise the government.

Hair Color: Jet Black

Eye Color: Light Brown

Height: 5' 3" (160 cm)

Notable Traits: She sports short, curly hair. Dark skinned. She has a petite body type. She wears trumpet yellowbush flowers in her hair. She tends to be very loud and talkative with guests.

Favorite Foods & Drinks: Bush Tea, Callaloo (stew), Fungi (cornmeal-based dish), Passionfruit Juice, Pate (empanadas)

Likes: Bamboula (dance), Drinking, Foreign Snacks, Romance, Quelbe (music)

Personality: Noisy and Simple. She's currently in her rebellious teenage phase, ingrained with a sense of independence. Unfortunately, she's rarely taken seriously because of her giant debt which even then doesn't stop her from making a ruckus. Whenever she's not causing a scene, she tends to be laid-back with snacks and a glass of rum in hand (don't tell America that). On a side note, she's quite close to the British Virgin Islands.
