California

Mac the Miniature Australian Shepherd (Male): This particular canine has blue eyes and a black-and-white bicolor coat. Their favorite activities include disc dog, agility training, and dog surfing; they also know how to ride a skateboard.

Sushi the Ragdoll (Female): This particular feline has blue eyes and a seal bicolor coat. They're a pampered kitty that suffers from depression whenever their owner is away for a long time. In such cases, California makes homemade cat-friendly meals as a way of apologizing.

Jin the Golden Hamster (Male): A fancy hamster with a solid golden coat and a love for nature. They'll sometimes sneak out of their cage to go on adventures with other hamsters. Sunflower seeds are their favorite treat.

Holly the Californian Rabbit (Female): A white doe with red eyes and black markings on their ears, nose, feet, and tail. Holly formerly starred in Hollywood, eventually getting adopted by California after their retirement. Strawberries and lettuce salads are their favorite meals.

Poppy the New Zealand Rabbit (Female): A doe with a broken black-and-white coat. They were adopted to be a companion for Holly. Carrots are their favorite snack.

Goldfish: A large aquarium full of goldfish of several varieties. The numbers in the tank fluctuate over the years, yet California rarely notices the changes. Sushi likes to watch them.

A/N: California once had a Californian grizzly bear cub as a companion before the bear went extinct, leaving her heartbroken for many months. She still misses them.

Minnesota

Goldilocks the Striped Gopher (Female): Truth be told, this burrowing rodent isn't a true gopher; they're a thirteen-lined ground squirrel. Despite causing problems for Minnesota's yard, she can't help stay mad at them, unable to stop herself from giving this squinney a big hug. September 23rd is their birthday.

Oregon

Tabitha the LaPerm (Female): A brown ticked tabby with hazel eyes and curly fur. They were Oregon's first and only foster failure. Salmon is their favorite flavor of cat food.

Benton the American Beaver (Male): A long time ago, Oregon rescued the orphan from getting swept out to sea. Nowadays, Benton always accompanied Oregon, often carried inside her backpack with sticks to chew on; they're often tempted to chew on wooden furniture. April 7th is their birthday.

Puddles the Golden Cascade Duck (Male): Puddles was a rescue animal Oregon initially brought home for rehabilitation until she became attached and adopted them. Despite their cute appearance, they're quite bold and naughty to get into fights, especially with Benton. Donald Duck is their favorite Disney character.

A/N: Oregon does have a dog, however, I haven't specified in anticipation of the state possibly naming a state dog sometime soon. When that happens, I'll make it a proper addition. Thank you for understanding.

Kansas

Terry the Cairn Terrier (Male): Kansas wanted this brindle dog to be her state dog, however, opposition defeated the proposal. Even so, she still loves Terry very much. They have lilapsophobia (a fear of tornadoes).

Dorothy the Munchkin (Female): A cream colorpoint with blue eyes and a ruby red collar worn around their neck. Their favorite color is blue, so Kansas always gets them blue toys to play with. Like Terry, they also have lilapsophobia (a fear of tornadoes).

West Virginia

Dusty the Black and Tan Virginia Foxhound (Male): This black-and-tan hound has been by West Virginia's ever since they first met. Their bloodhound lineage has given them an excellent nose for tracking animals—both alive and dead. It takes all of West Virginia's strength to prevent them from eating roadkill.

Monty the Mountain Cur (Male): A black-and-white cur that's happiest when hunting for its owner. They get anxious when there's nothing to do. Pup-Peroni is their favorite brand of dog treats.

Nevada

Lucky the Domestic Short-Haired Cat (Male): A solid black tomcat with yellow eyes. Nevada found them diving in dumpsters for buffet leftovers. Despite being given plenty of cat food, Lucky is still food-obsessed, getting into trash cans when given the opportunity.

Trixie the American White Rabbit (Female): Nevada got them as a birthday gift from California. He sometimes has her assist in magic tricks, however, they've proven to be difficult to work with. They dislike kids for reasons unknown.

Ajax the Bearded Dragon (Male): This particular beardie is a zero morph whose coloration varies from gray to white depending on how cold or hot their environment is. As odd as it sounds, Ajax likes to play with cat toys, particularly teasers. But unlike cats, they like weekly baths.

Leopard Geckos: Nevada has several geckos that come in various colors and patterns. His favorite morphs are Mack Snows. He'll periodically post photos of his geckos online wearing silly hats.

Nebraska

Doesn't Own Any Pets: Nebraska doesn't mind animals; however, she has no plans to have a pet of her own. Time and energy are her reasons for not getting one. She'll occasionally care for Kansas's and Iowa's pets, but that's about it.

A/N: I tried finding animals that could serve as a pet for Nebraska, however, I couldn't find any. Plus, another reason I decided to give no pets to Nebraska is that they supposedly have the least number of pet owners in the nation, at least according to one site I found.

Colorado

Rocky the Aussie Collie (Male): An Australian Shepherd-Border Collie mix sporting blue eyes and a blue merle coat. Colorado adopted them from an animal shelter. Lamb is their favorite flavor of dog food.

Doobie the Nebelung (Male): A blue-longhaired cat with green eyes. They're a reasonable cat that likes to remind Colorado of things such as cleanliness and responsibilities. With that said, they often like to get high on catnip.

Bronco the Colorado Ranger (Male): A brown leopard stallion Colorado mainly uses nowadays for ranch work and pleasure rides. They've also participated in rodeos around the state. Cantaloupe is their favorite treat.

North Dakota

Buttons the Flickertail (Male): A North American ground squirrel that inspired the state march of North Dakota. Otherwise, they're a common pest to farms and homes. They may or may not be a cannibal.

Hinto the Nokota Horse (Male): A blue roan stallion North Dakota personally tamed and rode in the past. Some time ago, North Dakota released them, allowing them to return to the wild horse herds roaming the badlands. Once in a while, North Dakota would check on them, and Hinto would still recognize them.

South Dakota

Rosebud the Coydog (Female): South Dakota found the shy canine snooping around her house and decided to adopt it. She didn't know it was a coyote-dog hybrid until she took them to a veterinary clinic. There was some difficulty getting Rosebud accustomed to the environment, but South Dakota remained patient and doting of the young pup.

Shappa the American Paint Horse (Female): A cheeky mare that has brown eyes and a mostly white coat with a patch of chestnut hairs at the top of their head called a Medicine Hat. South Dakota found them roaming among the wild horse herds of the Great Plains and tamed them after getting bucked off multiple times. Some time ago, she released Shappa back to her herd, visiting her on occasion.
