Ottawa and Manila Meet America

Somewhere in the city of Ottawa...

Ottawa: "Oh, this is saddening..."

"Ottawa! Hey, I am glad to see you!"

Ottawa: "Huh? O-Oh! Manila? What are you doing here?"

The Filipino capital dashes over to her looking like he's about to burst with excitement. He seemed so giddy and happy as something white floats down to perch on their noses. Both of them make awe-inspiring gasps as they looked around them.

Manila: "Wow~! I have never seen snow up close. So this is snow...amazing...!"

Ottawa: "Well...this is a bit early. DC doesn't even have snow yet."

Manila: "But you're more northern up, right Auntie Otter Pop?"

Ottawa: "Huh? Manila, you haven't called me that ever since you and your country was young."

Manila: "Lucky, isn't it? That my country has already known us capitals already? But, hey...did you call me Manila?"

Ottawa: "...That's...that's your name, isn't it?"

Manila: "Yes, right, but...you don't call me Vanilla anymore..."

Ottawa: "Oh, didn't you hear me say about you calling me Otter Pop?"

Manila: "Then what about Auntie Color?"

Ottawa: "Color...I still call her Color, so I guess for her it's okay."

Manila: "...Can't I at least call you Otter Pop? I mean, doesn't Aunt-I mean, Color call you that?"

Ottawa: "...Not anymore."

Manila: "What?"

His curious eyes bore over to Ottawa's sad expression. His forehead creased as he peers into her face, wondering what she meant by that. Tugging Kimijuri by the paw, Manila and Ottawa start walking over to someplace warm. As they were walking Ottawa was wondering how his country, Philippines was doing. Reason being is mostly because how close she is to DC which led up to them being close to Manila. Despite him calling them 'aunts' Ottawa believes that they're not in any way related to him in the form of countries or capital history or by his country. She just thinks that he's just close to them and that he's kind of short.

Manila: "Pearly? She's doing very well! We found this old sunflower maze deep behind the manor! Er...did I use the right word for...?

Ottawa: "Don't worry, you're English is doing well. I forgot...I haven't been seeing Philippines for a while. I forgot that her nickname was Pearly."

Manila: "She...has scarier nicknames back at home...she hasn't left that place."

Ottawa: "Really? I can't imagine someone so innocent and oblivious as Pearly to have a scary nickname..."

Manila: "Wouldn't...you also apply that to...M-M-Moscow...?"

Ottawa stopped and thought about that. According to what Vilnius said (which wasn't much, things kind of went back to normal, but not all the way), Moscow 'isn't exactly as bad as she seems'. Though Manila wasn't exactly invited to that meeting because his country came and went from the HQ and all the countries had some kind or neutral relationship with her. Well, for NEARLY all the capitals.

Ottawa: "W-Well..."

She decides to change the subject. She really didn't want her image of Philippines to morph into a shovel-wielding lunatic.

Ottawa: "Speaking of not leaving your country's manor, what are you doing here in my city?"

Manila: "W-Well, I've always wanted to see the snow. Pearly does too, but...you know why she can't exactly leave."

Philippines, as kind and cheerful as she was, sadly had a problematic issue with getting physically hurt easily and, for some reason, her skin gets cold for no reason at random times. DC had always been prone to be there for her, to the point where paperwork gets to be an issue too. As if her memory wasn't enough.

Ottawa: "Maybe she'll become stronger later on?"

Manila: "Hopefully...say, why are you here Otter Pop?"

Ottawa: "Well, this IS my-wait! It completely slipped my mind! I'm here to meet my country!"

Manila: "Really?! Oh! Oh! I bet Pearly might know who he is! He is Canada right?"

Ottawa: "Yes, but, I don't think he's seen Phil-I mean, seen Pearly."

Manila: "Haha, maaaaaybe~! Just maybe~!"

Ottawa: "...???"

Manila: "Let us just find ourselves a place to eat. Hey! There is a McDonald's near here!"

Ottawa: "No..."

Manila: "What? You do not like McDonald's anymore?"

Ottawa: "I...I prefer to go with Color..."

Manila: "...Oh, I see..."

They decide to go to a Starbucks and bought themselves a nice hot chocolate. It was warm in there and Manila was practically just sightseeing the snowy town. But just like in McDonald's, the place was packed and every table was occupied by at least one person. They spied a lone man at a far table in the back and decided to go there.

Ottawa: "Sir? Do you mind if we sit here?"

???: "Hm? Oh, yeah, sure!"

Manila: "Thank you!"

As they sat down, across from the blonde-blue-eyed, glasses-bearing man, Ottawa gently hugged Kimijuri, who was sitting on her lap as her hot chocolate steamed the air. The stranger was doing something on his phone while a half-eaten burger sat in front of him. He took a bite every now and then but didn't really pay attention to them. Until he reached for his burger again and his eyes fell on Ottawa and Manila.

???: "Whoa-!!!"

Ottawa/Manila: "!!!"

???: "Haha! Whoops! Sorry, I didn't think you were on a date, Vanilla!"

Manila: "Huh? Oh!"

Ottawa: "Hm? Do you know him...?"

Manila: "Tatay!"

Ottawa: "What....?"

Manila: "Oh, right, Tatay, Tatay, listen, remember when we were talking about Otter Pop? This is her!"

???: "So you're Otter Pop? Wow, you're...wow."

Ottawa: "W-What?"

Manila: "Tatay, ang kanyang nakatatandang kapatid na babae ay DC."

???: "...Really? So...does that mean?"

Manila: "Yeah."

???: "You...she's a capital?"

Ottawa: "Is he a country!?"

Manila: "Wait, you did not know that Otter Pop?"

Ottawa: "W-Well...I was just thinking..."

Manila: "Oh, no! He's not Canada, Otter, this is America."

Ottawa: "Wha-?"

America: "Ah, haha! She looks so confused! Vanilla, dude, where's your country?"

Manila: "Oh, she is..."

Ottawa just sat there and watched their conversation progress. Kimijuri looked up at her, whining a little. Ottawa murmured a few more apologies and pats her head for squeezing a little too hard. Kimijuri snuggled up into Ottawa's coat and drifted off a little. Ottawa, herself, was indeed confused. Manila knew another country besides his own. And he was DC's country nonetheless. Why didn't he say something about this earlier? Well, it wasn't like the capitals didn't know anything about the countries existence, but besides Philippines; Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Germany, Italy, and Japan had just figured out about them. But apparently, America seemed to know about them too.

Manila: "Why are you in Canada's place, Tatay?"

America: "Well, I was supposed to come down with my bro, but I didn't see him, so...meh, I was just hanging around and stuff."

Ottawa: "Bro...ther?"

Ottawa: (Oh, right, he's the older brother of my country, Canada!)

Ottawa: "W-Why were you coming to see your brother...?"

America: "Um...uh...what was I coming here for? Well, I guess it isn't anything important if I can't remember. I'm gonna go back to my place tomorrow."

Ottawa's face pales as she recognizes this situation.

Ottawa: "U-Um, can you...tell me your brother's name?"

America: "Well...uh, haha, sorry, can't."

Ottawa: "W-What do you mean, you..."

America: "Eh, I mean, I can't, haha, remember, sorry."

He scratches the back of his head sheepishly, chuckling awkwardly like a playful child. Ottawa, on the other hand, felt like she was going to cry. She bolts up from her seat and dashes to the bathroom, hauling Kimijuri with her.

Manila: "Otter Pop-!"

Ottawa: "I-I-I-I need to g-go..."

........

America: "...What was up with her...?"

Manila: "I do not know..."

.....

Ottawa: *sobbing*

DC: "Y-Y-You...wait...no, wait, you...she...she couldn't be...you can't be..."

America: "...Is she okay?"

Canada: "Miss? DC? Wait...your name..."

Manila: "...I do not...think she knows..."

Author's Sister Note:

Pardon the pun in the title, but I really wanna use it~! (love ya, sis!)

I had recently come across an interesting Wiki page of the Philippines that I found really surprising. My sister Ki-chan has some Filippino inside of her and since I've never heard of the country I decided to incorporate that into this update! Unfortunately, Philippines is a fanmade character that many cling onto. I was really sad about that, but there are some other reasons.

Philippines, as Manila mentioned, does this terrible nickname that's secretly spread out by other countries, but it kind of died out a couple centuries ago. I'll give you a hint, think of the typhoons they get and Manila's personality.

If you guys get the nicknames, yay, Philippines nickname actually more applies to Manila, considering that the capital is called 'Pearl of the Orient'. Though I liked how 'Pearly' and 'Philippines' looked, sorry!

Oh, and if you guys are curious...I am not going to put the translations to the Tagalog (Filippino language, there's also Bisaya, but sis is from Mindanao, so she says it's kind of complicated...?) yet. And all you Filippino speakers out there DON'T SAY ANYTHING. IT COMES IN LATER. I ASSURE YOU. SO PLEASE DON'T SPOIL IT YET.

So, sorry this was made up of mostly dialogue. Haha...*awkward*
