Moscow Nears Death

Belarus looked like she was itching to fight her. She personally was wondering who this scary person was and why she resembled so much like her older brother. But unlike him, she couldn't bring herself to like her. Moscow and Belarus launch themselves at each other eyes both wide with anger and rage. Moscow seemed to be the most energetic concerning how fast and powerful her attacks were. Being a capital, she wasn't going to be entirely effective against a country like Belarus. Despite that, some of her attacks were able to penetrate her defense.

Russia: "That's...Moscow?"

Vilnius: "Well, yes, that is."

Russia glanced down at the determined looking, but once scared, a girl who he had initially thought was his disappointing capital. For some reason, Vilnius, who was supposed to be outright scared of her, was looking hopeful and in awe at Moscow. Russia could practically feel it off of her. He also had a feeling that he's met someone like her before. But much taller, maybe?

Russia: "...Have I met you-?"

Vilnius: "W-What...? No, of course not..."

She finally took acknowledgment of Russia's dark towering form. She unconsciously started inching away from him, which Russia painfully noticed. Meanwhile, Moscow was able to pin Belarus next to Minsk and she passed out from exhaustion.

Moscow: "Hah...urgh...my, your nails can really scar one, can't they..."

Vilnius: "M-Miss Moscow...!"

Moscow: "Vilnius!"

Stumbling to her feet, Moscow struggled toward Vilnius with this most brilliant smile on her face of pure happiness and relief. But the bubbly expression was instantly replaced by a painful flash of exhaustion as Moscow plummets to the floor. Vilnius screams as she falls face-flat right in front of her and reveals a sickening horrific surprise. A deep gash ran down her back. A small sound of creaking peeped behind them, which apparently was Rome.

Rome: "Is...is it-? OH! What happened in here!? AGAIN!?"

Rome's voice started out jokingly annoyed, but then her breath gets shot back in her throat and she falls to the ground choking pale, tears instantly pricking her eyes and falling at the same time in a matter of seconds. Her entire body was shaking at the bloody sight before her. Russia's eyes widen at this. It was like Rome was very close to the scary capital.

Rome: "Moscow...? V-Vilnius...what happened to...?"

She slowly crawled up to her still as a stone friend and felt a large hand slowly grip her shoulder. Rome slowly turned toward Russia, who was kneeling down next to her. Her eyes were big and wide, something that he didn't expect. He was so used to her and Italy's closed yet seeing eyes. Over in the corner was Vilnius who couldn't bear to look at Moscow's body. She was mentally blaming herself for everything. Rome was too. And Russia could see that.

Rome: "Mr....Russia....I...could've done...something...couldn't I?"

Russia was confused for a little while but after some thought, he realized that she was talking about maybe fighting off Belarus instead of letting her chase her. Russia chuckles which make Rome flinch with a small bit of anger.

Russia: "Sorry, but I don't think you'd really stand a chance against-"

Rome: "BUT I COULD'VE DONE SOMETHING!!!"

Russia is taken aback by Rome's uncharacteristic flame of rage. She was so twisted in anguish about someone who he thought was terrifying to all the world. Just like him. But she actually had someone close to her. But he wondered if Moscow knew. He wonders if anyone secretly cared besides Ukraine and Belarus.

Rome: "Mr. Russia. Moscow wasn't as scary as you saw her, I swear."

He stared at her listening intensively.

Rome: "T-To be honest...I've been really terrified of her sometimes. That's...well, she just says what she says, she can't help it. Somewhere...somewhere everyone knew that. But her scary exterior had...been an issue for ages."

Russia: (....)

Rome: "B-But...deep down inside! She's...a sunflower, I guess. She can be really nice...when she wants to be. But it was just because of how she was raised! Moscow, she...*mumble, mumble*"

Russia: "...What?"

Rome: "Mr. Russia...just think, why would a person do something so terrible. What would drive them to do such a thing? Maybe if we would've just...looked at why they do it rather than what they did, then..."

Russia: "I know what you mean."

The sudden sound of his frighteningly calm and slightly childish sounding suddenly assaults her ears. A freezing cold chill runs up her spine and now refuses to look back up at him. He notices this instantly as usual, but that didn't stay his mind like it used to, at the moment.

Rome: "W-Well, whoever her country was. It's kind of sad that she didn't get to meet him once. Now her city is probably wiped off the face of the-"

Russia: "She isn't dead. Just severely injured. The storm's died down, we can bring her over to my place. We can fix her up there."

Rome: "W-What?"

Russia stoops down and effortlessly picks the somewhat smiling Moscow into a threshold carry. He sees how happy and relieved she looked even though there was blood leaking down from her head and mouth. Then you can't forget her back, which he was trying hard to keep in one piece, his ears painfully picking up the small cracking of her brittle, but still the whole spine. Behind him, which never fails to surprise him, was Rome picking up Vilnius with equal effort. He wonders how strong Rome really is and if she's probably in league with Moscow, but right now, he's trying not to purposefully snap and crush his own capital personally with his own bare hands.

Rome: "Vilnius is kind of in shock right now, Mr. Russia. So is...um, Mr. Lithuiania, Mr. Latvia, and Mr. Estonia..."

They've arrived at Russia's house and set Moscow and Vilnius in separate beds but in the same room, Rome was in earlier. Russia still couldn't understand how Rome was scared of him completely one minute but then supportive and providing the other. He felt like she was trying to find something in him, but wasn't entirely sure it was in him, to begin with.

Rome: "Mr. Russia?"

Russia: "Yes?"

She tenses a little at the sound of his voice and his appearance when she turns to face him.

Rome: "...W-Will Moscow...will she be okay...?"

Russia: "...She will be. Don't worry."

He plasters the best smile he could in his pain. This was his capital and she was hoping that when he met her that he would be her friend because all she had was her brothers and Rome. He bets that she and Vilnius could've gotten along but...no, he couldn't think that way.

Vilnius: "R-Rome...?"

Rome: "Ve?"

Vilnius: "Did...you..."

Rome: "Ve, ve, they don't know anything."

Russia: "What?"

Rome: "Riga and Tallinn. I had to tell them that they had to go back under Moscow's orders. Getting something from Moscow has to distract them more. They...might think that Moscow's doing something to Vilnius, though."

Vilnius: "...What would they think if I came back and Miss Moscow didn't...?"

Rome: "D-D-Don't say that! Moscow, she...she had another shot! She needs to at least use it!"

Vilnius: "Yeah...she didn't...see him...yet."

Rome: "...I wonder, what's he even like?"

Some of her expected innocent curiosity charms were back and she was tapping her chin, pouting sadly as she did so. This was the point were Russia felt like he was going to snap. It was night and irritation was a rack. He slowly stepped up to Rome as the Baltic States paled, shaking a frightened finger in his direction. A firm grip was slapped on Rome's shoulder which causes her to make an Italy-worthy yelp.

Russia: "Rome, capital of Italy, is it?"

Rome: "V-V-V-V-Ve...???"

Russia: "I can see you are definitely his capital. You have the same level of density as him."

Rome recognized that wide smile. His eyes were gleaming a dark aura of malice and his shaggy bangs shadowed his face just like Moscow's did. Plus, she had a feeling that he apparently had the same fuse level like she did at nighttime. One thing she knew about Moscow was that she worked like a werewolf. Neutral and pretty much harmless...unless she saw something that she deemed punishable. But during the night, most of her darkest fears take the opportunity to cloud over her. And fast.

Rome: "M-M-Moscow, calm down, you're doing it again...!"

Russia's breath catches in his throat. Her eyes were the same as Italy's were normal and she was like Italy when Germany got angry at him for doing something wrong or being lazy.

Rome: "Okay, okay, remember! Happy thoughts! Happy thoughts! I could make you pasta or sing you a song-Maddy taught me a new one! I tried singing it to Ramina, but that didn't work. Right! Right! Sunflowers! You've always like sunflowers! Think of sunflowers~!"

Russia: (She's...broken, too, isn't she. But...strangely, it's helping.)

No one had stopped and tried calming him down when he started near the edge of insanity. But judging what Rome was saying, it seemed that she did this plenty to Moscow when she could. That could explain why she was a little more meek, but still pretty damaged herself. He finds himself calming down.

Russia: "...But thanks..."

Rome: "Huh?"

Rome: (Oh, right this isn't Moscow...what was I thinking!? Ah, I hope I didn't hurt him-!)

"...so...I...wasn't...the only...one...was...I...?"

Rome/Russia/Vilnius: "-!!!"

Rome: "Moscow~!!!"

Moscow: "Rome...haha..."

There it was Moscow's trademark glassy stare and creepy but petite smile. It was dang weak but packed some power.

Moscow: "Rome, where's Vilnius...?"

Vilnius: "I-I..."

Rome: "Haha, she's speechless! But you're okay! You...you...well, ve, we're going to have to go back before Riga and Tallinn figure out anything."

Moscow: "Da, I know. Well, too bad I couldn't..."

Russia: "...He...would've gotten along with you just fine."

Moscow: "...?"

*DING-DONG, DING-DONG, DING-DONG, DING-DONG, DING-DONG, DING-!!!*

Madrid: "Ramina, you don't need to ring-"

Ramina: "ROME!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO MOSCOW?!?!"

Rome: "Ah, there's our backup~!"

Russia: "..."

Vilnius: "W-Well...I guess we have to go."
