Chapter 19

Erin was on cloud nine and he felt like he was a part of a brand new world. He hurried out of the arena that was closed now due to preparations for the upcoming swim meet his handsome face aglow.

He never thought he could love Lisa anymore than he did, but here he was tumbling head over heels and he was happy that Misty had stepped in and sent their love in another direction.

He had to admit he had no trouble waiting on Lisa where sex was concerned. He had respected her choice of celibacy and was content with the other ways that Lisa had incorporated to fill that void. He was no saint mind you, there were times when it took a lot of will power to restrain himself around Lisa. Also he loved her beyond the mere physical perks that came with being in a relationship. Last night was just a change in events and he was nevertheless happy about it.

However he had to know that she was not now the following day regretting what they did. After all Misty did spin the events that lead to one of the glorious moments in his life, not telling what the end result could be he was worried, and also there was the matter of the unused condom.

He had to determinedly pull his mind away from the thoughts of Lisa and last night events, there was the other matter at hand.

The matter of him finding his missing phone. He knew it made no sense searching for his phone there in the swimming arena but he just had to look anyways. He so wanted to speak with Lisa, to hear her sweet voice, to just have her with him in some way other than those sweet secret thoughts he kept having of the night before.

There he was going back to last night again. He smiled to himself as he walked down the steps that led from the bleachers. He had to head on home, he needed to speak with his girl. He couldn't wait to Skype her. To tell her just how happy she made him and how he loves her deeply.

"Hey Erin, did you happen to find your phone?," Liam, another member of the swim team, asked as he now approached the back exit of the lower corridors of the school.

"No," he replied then slowed down when he realized that the other guy was also stretching to him a pink envelope, with a sly smile on his lips.

"Looks like you have a crush," he teased as Erin took the envelope from his outstretched hand.

"For all I know it could be you guys pranking me," he said turning the envelope over to see that the only thing that was written on it was his name in neat bold stylish hand writing. His teammates were known to pull a few notorious pranks.

"Ha! where would we get perfume like that," he laughed. "Man this all you babe," he teased.

"Whatever Liam," he smiled and pushed the envelope in the side pocket of his blazer as he bid his teammate farewell.

It did not once dawn on him that the letter might not be from Lisa or that he did not get around to telling her he had misplaced his phone. As he continued to his car he hummed basking in the sweet cocoon of love. It was obvious from Lisa's pink envelope that she was not having any regrets.

Misty removed the phone from her shirt pocket and brought up the conversation she was having with My Girl.

"Baby, it's been only a few hours but I miss you so much."

She sat in her car and watched as Lisa came down the steps of the Elders home, she paused to take her phone from her shoulder pack.

She could see her smile as she read the message, but when she looked away from Lisa to read the returned message her dark eyes burned with hatred.

Lisa was just like her father. He took her mother away, then he took her innocence and soon her home was taken away.

They took away everything that mattered to her. They were parasites that fed off her happiness and well being. She was not going to lose Erin like her mother, no way!

She was going to save Erin and keep him with her forever and love him. He was Hers Only even if he had made Lisa overshadow their attraction and sauntered her way into what they could have had.

Her mind drifted to the day they had all met Erin, it was shortly after he had moved to town. He had shown her how sweet and charming he was, complimenting her and seeking to converse with her the day they had both waited for their order at the counter. However as soon as Lisa had pushed her sweet, petite, blonde way into the mix he had lost his way to her. He was going to find his way back though, as soon as she got Lisa out of the picture.

"I miss you too."

"Remember to meet me at LookOut Point."

"Should we really though? It's quite a few ways out of town."

"I don't want to be creeping around in the eyes of everyone. There we won't have anyone to worry about, and I really have a great surprise for you."

Misty watched as she frowned down at the phone and for a minute wondered if she had sounded judgemental in that reply. Lisa was indeed a well rounded, firm minded girl who was not easily propelled into other people's ways. She was focused and strong willed and when she replied she let out the breath she hadn't realised she was holding.

"Six you said?"

"Yes."

"Ok, and wear something sexy."

"O Erin you're such a guy."

"A guy who wants to show you just what he thinks of you."

"I bet," she giggled.

"Coach is here so see you at six baby."

Misty watched as she began to type her reply but she had already replaced the phone in her pocket. The die was cast and pretty soon Lisa would be a game that was once played.
