Train ride

To me, the days past like seconds and when Friday came, I was ready. I was ready for answers. Like, who kept sending me and my friends the exact same text message and why did this anonymous person want to meet us specifically? I was going to get those answers and so were my friends, Xander, Jeremy, Tia and Daniel. Xander, Jeremy, Tia, Xander and I all arrived at the train station at around 10:10 pm at night. The night was bitterly cold. As cold as the void which sucked the air from your lungs like a vacuum cleaner, taking your breath away. The five of us got on the train. It was much more different on the train. A warm place of comfort and relaxation. We were the only ones on the carriage due to how late it was. The carriage is still and silent. The warmth is shattered by a breeze which blows through the open doors of the train carriage. I pulled one of the seats forward so that we were all facing each other. We all sat down on the comfy seats. My thoughts drift away as I sink into the comfy seat, and eventually, the train leaves the platform.

With the wheels in motion and the pistons pumping, we're off. The platform fails to keep up with us as the whistle blows. The platform fades away. The world around me is suddenly a blur as the train continues to build up speed. I can not focus on one particular thing for more than half a second, because then it's gone. Left behind like an abandoned puppy. As we pass the next station, I can't help but admire my wonderful surroundings. In the distance is a vast array of majestic trees. The blur of green comes to a stop as we arrive at the next station and quickly depart again after 5 seconds wait. It is night. It is the time of night when it's just after dusk. The sky is a nightly dark shade of blue. The waxing moon gleams like a mirror reflecting the suns bright rays of light. It shimmers like a silver coin floating over the depths of the ocean.

I close my eyes and pay close attention to the noises coming from out side the train. I hear the train clattering and clacking on the metal rails. I hear some sort of zappy sound which I assume is made by a vast crowd of nocturnal insects. The insects sing out of time with zooming noise of passing cars. The cars sound like waves crashing over one another. Each one louder than the last. The sky is now grey, night is moving ahead of us. Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, we begun to open the lolly bags. First we opened a bag of hard passion fruit lollies. Then we opened a bag of watermelon  Bon bons. They had a much different texture to the passion fruit lollies. Unlike them, they had a thick gooey texture that formed when placed in the mouth creating a sensational experience for the tongue.

The sky is now almost black and the first star of the night shines bright for all to see. I take in a whiff of the air through my nose. A gentle breeze washes through a small crevice in the gap of my window. The breeze is cool and odourless. The sky is now black and night has almost dawned upon us. The light gush of wind whips my face with it's cold rushing gusts of air. It is not an overly cold wind, but it's still something. I've been cramped in this train for almost an hour and I can't feel my legs but despite all we've been through together, night has finally come. The train pulls up at Penrith station at exactly 11pm where there is a guy waiting by a metal pole. The five of us get out of the carriage and walk towards the guy. He looks the same age as the rest of us. Around fourteen. His eyes are bluey green, he has white skin and ginger hair. He is wearing black pants, black leather shoes, white shirt, black waist coat, purple tie, black suite jacket, grey fedora with ace of Clubs pinned to it. He is also wearing a dark cape which trails him from behind like a ghost.

NO CAPES! (Sorry, I had to do that)
