A Job With PrimaTech Pt. 2

Rose woke to the sound of someone knocking. She jumped out of bed and quickly opened the door. "I'm terribly sorry to wake you miss, but a man came here last night and told me to give these to you at 9am," a quaint little room keeper said apologetically in a thick hispanic accent as she handed a pair of car keys to Rose. Rose took them and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
"Did he happen to tell you when I'm supposed to meet with him?" Rose asked wearily.
"He said to be there sometime before noon...I think," she answered.
"Good, that gives me some time to try to go back to sleep," Rose muttered as she tiredly closed the door. She set the alarm on her phone and slowly went back to sleep, but only for 3 more hours. Rose dressed herself in a nice business suit and went to find her rental car. Following the GPS, she was able to find PrimaTech without a problem.
"Hello, I'm here to meet with a Mr. Noah Bennet?" Rose told the receptionist. A middle aged man with glasses that was working behind the counter perked up.
"That would be me," he said as he greeted Rose with a smile and shook her hand. "My office is this way," he gestured as he led her down a hall.
"I just have to say, this isn't my area of expertise at all," Rose warned as she sat down in front of Mr. Bennet's desk.
"Is that so? Mr. Banks assured me you were the one for the job," Mr. Bennet questioned.
"Assassinating, yes, but meeting other people to do their dirty work for them, no."
"I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable Ms. Wellington, I only needed someone I could trust," Mr. Bennet remarked. Rose cocked an eyebrow and at that reaction, Mr. Bennet pulled out a stack of files from his desk drawer. Rose eagerly looked through them, but was confused by what they were.
"I don't understand, these people have powers?" she asked in disbelief as she glanced up.
"Yes, we've only just discovered them ourselves here at our 'private' agency, but we want them gone. My boss sees them as a threat to our society and thinks that we'd be safer without them," Mr. Bennet explained.
"There's so many of them," Rose thought aloud.
"I talked with Mr. Banks and we came to an agreement; If you could prove how useful your skills would be to us, he said that he'd hand you over to us. I know it might not pay as much, but you wouldn't have to work the weekends at all unless you wanted to and you could pretty much make your own schedule."
"That does sound nice," Rose agreed, "When do I start?"
"Today and I also understand that you requested some time off for next week?"
"Is that ok?" Rose asked, feeling suddenly pressured to do so much work.
"As long as you prove you're worthy to PrimaTech, then yes," Mr. Bennet reassured her.
Rose smiled, "Then what am I waiting for?"
Rose returned to her hotel at almost 4am Wednesday morning. She had spent most of her night trying to find these "threats," or at least the ones that were found throughout Texas and a few that were close to the neighboring borders of the other states. Rose was so tired that she didn't bother putting her equipment up and gladly welcomed her pillow.
She didn't wake up until close to lunch time and realized that she had slept in her assassin suit from the previous day. Rose hopped in the shower and put on a simple, but pretty sun dress. She was starving and drove around until she found a Subway and got several stares as she munched down on not one, but two footlong sandwiches. After that, Rose found the nearest shopping mall to find something to wear for the weekend get together. She looked through several racks and found some very short, sparkly, figure flattering dresses that were definitely clubbing material. After trying everything on, Rose wanted to find some accessories to match the occasion. "Going out somewhere?" a tall, blonde woman asked Rose as she eyed her cart.
"Yes, but I'm not quite sure which shoes I should wear," Rose admitted as she looked at her options.
"Perhaps I could help?" the woman offered, "What's the occasion?"
"I got invited to a girl's weekend with some old friends of mine that I haven't seen in awhile. We're going to go clubbing, catch a movie, eat out, and who knows what other trouble we'll get ourselves into," Rose informed her.
She smiled warmly, "It sounds like fun; I'm jealous that I don't have friends like that."
"Work keeps me busy and sometimes, we don't always have time during the day to talk," Rose said.
"I'm Nikki by the way," the woman introduced herself.
"Cassandra," Rose lied.
"What a pretty name!" Nikki exclaimed. An hour later, Rose had found everything she wanted with Tracy's help. "I'd love to stay longer, but I have a plane to catch," Nikki said bye.
Rose looked at the long list of names and decided to take out the four that were hiding out in New Mexico later that night.
The following morning, Rose's hotel room phone rang as she was finishing her breakfast. "I'm impressed! Mr. Banks wasn't kidding when he said that you were the perfect assassin for the job," it was Noah Bennet.
"I don't like to wait around for things to happen; if I want something to happen, I find a way to make it happen," Rose stated.
"I wouldn't doubt that for a second. I know Mr. Banks would normally mail your money to you, but here, you'll have to come to my office to pick it up."
"I'll be there in ten," Rose hung up and hurried to clean up breakfast.
"We've never had anyone around here like you before," Mr. Bennet commented as he handed Rose her stack of cash.
"I get that a lot," Rose said.
"Are you ready for a bit of traveling?" he asked.
"Isn't that kind of what I've been doing?"
"Yes, but I mean you get to travel more that just a few hours away," Mr. Bennet said.
"I'm listening," Rose said interested.
"We've got a family of 3 living in New York, all of which have powers; they'll be your main targets. We have others to of course, but these 3 need to go," Mr. Bennet stressed.
"I understand," Rose nodded. "Is this coincidental? I'll be in New York anyway to visit friends and you thought you could add it to the trip?" she asked.
"Do you have a problem with that?" Mr. Bennet asked innocently.
"No, not at all," Rose answered with a tight smile.
"Good, here's your plane ticket; You'll be leaving tomorrow after lunch."
