We're Getting Them Back

Heroes of Townsville: Chapter 23

(No one's P.O.V.)

"The girls and I knew that this would happen someday, I just didn't think you'd be here until my last breath."

"I miss her already..."

"KAORU!!!"

The green eyed teen shot up from his bed, his raven hair messed up, his pale face with droplets of sweat and tears showed fear. He was messed up. He didn't know what to do. It pained him to remember the sight of her, falling down into the glowing lava.

"My head hurts..."

He got up from his bed and went to the bathroom to bathe himself. He really didn't feel like fixing himself up today, but he needs to have a talk with Kaoru's family to explain and to sort things out with them. He turned off the shower and got out. He put his clothes on and fixed his short ponytail to his usual style, his fringe covering his right eye. After that, he went downstairs to eat some breakfast.

Toast. Just toast. The lab has been very quiet since the massive quake in which the girls became 'missing'. Very little words were spoken since then. The brothers just sat there, not uttering a word to each other, they don't need to, they know what each other is thinking about, literally. They just sat there, communicating telepathically with each other, and not even bothering to eat their toast properly. It was a miserable sight for the professor.

It's been two days since the supposed 'death' of the three girls. The horrid memories were still fresh, and so was all of the calamity damage from the quake. It's been hell for everyone, especially the Ruffs. The families of each of the girls are worried sick because of their absence, and the Ruffs are taking the heat for it.

"Why? Katsumoto, you practically said you would protect my daughter! And where is she now?!" Kaoru's mother cried.

"I knew we shouldn't have trusted you..." Dai muttered darkly while holding his younger brother Shou close to him.

Katsumoto just looked down sadly. He can't explain what happened, he wanted to, but he's afraid that it wouldn't resolve anyhting, explaining won't bring Kaoru back. He's just lucky that Tokio is not there. The great and prideful Matsubara family is now sitting there in front of him, all sad and broken. Tokio, Kaoru's father, was not there, however. He left Japan for a month to compete in a wresling match overseas.

Katsumoto wants to make it up to them, but he knew that he couldn't do much either. He knows how they're feeling, he just lost the best girl for him, she was literally the first one he ever loved ever since he and his brothers were created. He was literally made for her, maybe initially to kill her, but after getting to know her, he knew that they could actually start a life together when Kaoru's the right age.

"Don't worry ma'am!"

The green curtains were blown as glass shards flew across the room. Two silhuettes of figures appear, one wearing red and the other one wearing blue.

"We're getting them back..." Momotaro said barging in with a confident look on his face.

"Huh?" Katsumoto asked confused.

"What the hell?!" Dai and Shou both yelled while looking at Momotaro and Miyazaki.

"M-my window..." Mrs. Matsubara said also staring at the two.

"And how are we gonna do that, genius?" Katsumoto said with annoyance on his face. He knows there's only a fool's way of saving someone who's probably dead by now.

"Yo, don't ya worry, bro. We'll find our own rowdy way of doing it," Miyazaki said with his mischievious smile.

And all of a sudden, everything came back to Katsumoto.

"I'm a Rowdyruff Boy and the Powerpuff that I love has gone missing. I'm not just gonna sit and do nothing about it. I'm a Rowdyruff Boy and I'm gonna do anything to get what I want with my own Rowdy way. I'm the green Ruff, Strong Butch, and I'm getting her back."

"Let's do it," Katsumoto smirked and looked determined to rescue the Puffs. He leaped to the window sill between his brothers.

"Uh, aren't you gonna use the door, I mean it's like, right there, and we're like, on the twelfth floor," Dai said as he himself was confused about what's happening right now.

"Doors? Never heard of it," Miyazaki said.

"No building's too high for us," Momotaro said.

" 'Cause we're the Rowdyruff Boys, and we're still too cool for doors," Katsumoto said as the three of them turned their backs toward the Matsubaras.

The wind blew and the curtain was blown. The blown curtains covered the silhuettes of the three brothers. As the curtains settled down on its place on the sides of the windows, the brothers were not there anymore and blue, green, and red streaks of moving light appeared in the sky.

"... Woah... are they really the..." Shou stared at the streaks of light amazed.

"If that green ponytailed guy succeeds in saving our sis, then I'm gonna have a superhero for a brother-in-law? That's kinda awesome," Dai says thinking about how he always sees Kaoru with Katsumoto.

"M-my window..." mrs. Matsubara muttered.

"Oh shoot! Mom's in a shock!" Dai and Shou yelled at the same time.

"What the hell's going on in there?! I'm trying to watch my television here!" their neighbor from the other apartment complained.

"Whatever, noob!" Dai yelled back.

(Meanwhile, with the Rowdyruff Boys...)

" 'Cause we're the Rowdyruff Boys, and we're still too cool for doors," Katsumoto said and the brothers proceeded to jump.

They looked at each other as they neared the ground and knew what each other was thinking and transformed.

"Hard Brick!"
"Explosive Boomer!"
"Strong Butch!"

Once they transformed, they flew to the sky.

"Hey, what you said back there, that we're still too cool for doors thing, that was a pretty cool outro," Boomer told Butch as they high high fived.

"Yeah, I'm awesome," Butch said being cocky.

"Not even, I was supposed to say that part, I am the leader after all, but no, you got all the spotlight. It would've been much cooler if I was the one who said that," Brick said annoyed.

"Whatever, bro. So, where are we heading again?" Butch asked.

"Uhhh,.... I don't really know."

To be continued...
