TWO
Annabeth had only known her roommate for so long and she could already tell that would get along swimmingly. Her hair was red as fire and her eyes green as grass. She had pale complexion, and she reminded Annabeth of a certain characters in her favorite pieces of fiction. Two to be exact. But of course you shouldn't judge someone by a character which they shared some similarities with! That was just silly! Even the dumbest people know that.
"Where are you from?" the red hair teenage girl - whose name was Rachel Elizabeth Dare - asked.
"Well, I used to live in Virginia, but I moved to San Fransisco around a year ago," Annabeth answered. "And you?"
"Connecticut," Rachel replied.
Annabeth laughed. "You know what? I can kinda hear it."
"What?" Rachel asked. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She didn't have an accent, right? Maybe it was just light like Annabeth. She could kinda hear a southern touch to her accent.
"I did a project on accent not too long ago," Annabeth explained. "You have a clear Connecticut accent."

Jason was sitting down on his bed wondering how he ended up with his roommates. His roommates being a hyperactive monkey and a shy panda. Well, not literally. The hyperactive monkey was thankfully not a monkey but he might as well have been. The human monkey was named Leo Valdez and in reality a hyperactive Hispanic teenage boy with elf like features. The shy panda was too a teenage boy - just like Jason himself. His name was Frank Zhang and he was a baby faced, well built, Chinese man. Probably Chinese-American, he didn't know what term to use. And as the nickname suggested he was shy.
"Hey, Jason, right?" Leo said, a mischievous smile on his face.
"Yes," Jason hesitantly replied. "And you're Leo, correct?"
"Correct!" Leo exclaimed. "Since we're roommates we should probably get to know each other, blondie. And of course Ching Chang too."
"Excuse me?" Frank asked when he heard Leo utter the nickname. Of course it could've been seen as racist and Frank could have lunged at the short, Hispanic boy. But thankfully that didn't happen, and for that Jason respected Frank.
"Oh. Hey, Ching Chong. We're gonna do some team bonding wanna join us?" Leo asked.

At the end of the activity all three of the teenage boys were sprawled out in the floor. Two of them were laughing while the third was hiding his red face in embarrassment.
"Woah, woah. Let me get this straight: you tried to eat a stapler?" Leo asked, which was just a reworded version of a question he'd asked several times.
"For the last time, yes!" Jason groaned, his face warm from the pure embarrassment of the situation.
Leo burst out laughing again and fell to the floor once more. "I just- I can't believe it! A stapler!"
"Yes, a stapler. Now leave him alone," Frank said, feeling an urge to defend his new found friend. He was just all to used to teasing and bullying - even if now, it was in a friendly manner.
Leo said something in response, but Frank blocked out his annoying voice. His fists were clenched and his nails were biting into his skin. Frank had never stood up for himself, and it seemed he was always the victim. Now that someone else was, he wasn't going to let it stand. Franks eyes locked on Leo's annoying, smug smile. He just wanted to wipe it of his face. He'd seen the same smile on too many before. And they were never good people. Leo was sitting up now, starting at him like "what are you going to do?". So Frank didn't think, and for once just acted out of sheer anger. Franks clenched first flew forwards and hit Leo in the middle of his face. The smug smile was successfully wiped of his head and he fell backwards to the floor, but this time it wasn't in laughter.
Jason looked up and was surprised to see Frank red in the face, breathing heavily. Leo lay on the floor, but he wasn't laughing anymore. "What happened?"
Franks eyes widened as he realized what he'd done. He rushed over to where Leo lay and started bombing him with apologies.
"Ah, Ch- Frank, it's 'kay," Leo said. "I was annoying you."
"No, not directly," Frank replied.
"So, you just punched me for kicks? To be honest, dude, I totally get it," Leo responded.
"No, no, no! Absolutely not. I- I just thought you were... uh, you reminded me of..."
"Oh!" Leo exclaimed in realization. "You thought I was a bully or somethin'!"
"Yeah..." Frank replied quietly.
"Nah, I'm not. Sorry, I'm not really used to having friends," he said and laughed.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," Frank finally apologized.
"It's fine," Leo laughed and wiped the blood which trickled form his nose. "I'm okay."

"Annabeth!" Rachel called. "I've found out schedules!"
"Rachel, I'm right here," Annabeth said only a meter from where Rachel stood.
"Oh, right," Rachel replied and handed Annabeth her schedule.
"Thanks," Annabeth said as she grabbed the schedule and found that it was thankfully written in the dyslexic font. How a font could help her condition, she had no idea. But it did. "Wonder who I'll meet here."
