8. Stark Towers (Yet again!) * BEING EDITED
It took a while for Percy to wake up. Slipping in and out of consciousness, his mind was in a state of oblivion while his body floated in a sea of numbness. When he finally managed to open his eyes he was met with unfamiliar surroundings, if anything was to be judged from the soft mattress he lay on. Managing to sit up through the dizziness that seemed to constantly haunt him, he looked around, seeing nothing but grey walls and a small chair in the corner of the room. Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, he attempted to recall how he'd gotten here, what happened. Nothing. He couldn't remember a single thing. After a moment a thought hit him so hard he saw colors, his hand shot towards his pocket where Riptide should lay, only to be met by emptiness. He checked his other pocket, thinking that maybe he'd placed it in; however this miniature strand of hope dissipated when he felt his other pocket empty. Riptide was gone. With absolutely no idea how it's happened Percy frantically looked around the room in search of clues, anything. Anything that could help him figure out where he was, or more importantly why he was here. Then it hit him. Just like when his mom had been taken by the Minotaur, he felt his heart drop and his blood run cold. He remembered everything, from meeting Jack to Leo getting beaten up by his uncle. Tony. A surge of anger flooded through his body. Betrayal wasn't anything new, Luke had taught him that lesson well, but Tony hadn't just betrayed him (he'd barely trusted him in the first place), he'd betrayed his mom. The absolute only person who'd been there for him his whole life, the nicest most considerate person in the world. The thought of his mother crying for this asshole infuriated him, he doesn't deserve her tears.
With a new found strength uncovered by this explosion of emotions, he stood up and threw the small chair against the wall, hoping to get attention. When there was no response to his outburst he decided to feel for running water, that would not only help him strengthen, it would also help him escape. However, it seemed that these people had done their homework, as there was no running water within a hundred mile radius. The question was how they had known what to study for.
Taking a second glance around the room Percy was pretty sure that there was cameras, in this plain room, obviously for a prisoner. For the first time in his he was glad Annabeth hadn't been there with him, he couldn't stand the thought of seeing her hurt. But then again he was lost without his wise girl, quite literally, all he could do was repeat in his mind to think like Annabeth. He stood up and began to pace around the room, maybe that would confuse the people behind the camera into thinking that he was panicking (which he kind of was but he wasn't going to admit it so openly). What would Annabeth do in a situation like this? Well she would probably take out her dagger and skin them, but they had taken Riptide away somehow so that was out. Think like a child of Athena. His thoughts were interrupted by the almost invisible door opening and in came the redheaded woman.
"Oh it's you." He stated, not bothering to hide the displeasure in his voice. The woman showed no emotion at all. "Still mad about getting beaten up by teenagers?"
Although her face remained intact he could sense her annoyance at this comment. Ouch, maybe he hit a sore spot, maybe stay away from that topic? Or not.
"I mean I don't really blame you, I'd be disappointed too if I got my ass handed to me by someone half my age."
He was trying to get on her nerves but her face remained as rigid as stone.
Ignoring his comments she closed the door behind her and picked up the chair Percy had thrown earlier, smoothly placing it in front of her and sitting on it. Without a word she continued to stare at him, until finally Percy had enough.
"Look lady why-"
"Percy Jackson?"
Percy stopped, eyes widening slightly at her soft tone.
"I'm Natasha. And I'm here to ask you some questions." Percy continued to stare as she spoke.
That was when he noticed her hands. The fingers on her left hand were closed and tightly curled around her right hand, while the fingers on her right hand were straight and pointing towards the top corner of the room. Percy, out of the corner of his eye, looked where she was pointing and spotted what he'd been looking for just a minute ago, a camera.
"By law I must let you know that you are being recorded." She continued, "You are under direct watch."
Slowly, her thumb went down wrapping around the palm of her hand, followed by her pinkie finger. She was counting down.
"Stop it with the bullshit Natasha I know what you're doing." He said trying to figure out what she was doing. Wasn't she the enemy? "I just want to know what you and your clown-ass friends want from my friends and I?"
Momentarily Tony crossed his mind, how the asshole had betrayed them even after he shared his cookies with him. That was something he'd never forget, ever.
In a split second Natasha took a gun out of nowhere and made a shot, with quite the precision, hitting the particularly well hidden camera.
"You've got exactly two seconds to choose whether you trust me or not." She hissed before standing and heading towards the door.
Percy had no time to think, so instead he followed. What better choice was there, stay and wait for officers to raid him and lock him up again, or run away with an angry redhead? The option was kinda clear. About 5 steps out of the room Natasha stopped and flattened herself against the wall, her hand pressed to her ear. Listening.
"Where's Riptide?" Percy asked.
"Where's what?" She hissed. Wow she really enjoyed doing that. Her hand didn't leave her ear, good multitasker?
"Riptide, my pen!" He demanded, Natasha rolled her eyes.
"Your pen is frozen off in a bowl of cryogenic ice. It was the only thing that stopped it from appearing back in your pocket." She said. "I don't know what type of crazy spell you and your lunatic friends put on it."
"They are not lunatics, and don't ever say anything about my family. Natalia." He said glaring at her. *EDITING STOPPED HERE BEWARE WHAT IS NEXT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE* Her eyes were wide and her hand moved slightly towards her hip, where her pistol was. Percy retreated and opened the file. What he found shocked him but didn't let it show. Inside there was pictures of all of the seven, Nico, Thalia, and many more. There was sections each with the name of one of the seven. He opened up to his own file and effectually, there was all of his information from when he disappeared to when he was spotted in Athens. He closed it and handed it yo her.
"That's not me." He said blandly.
"Sure." She scoffed crossing her arms. "Sing little bird."
"Oh you really don't wanna hear that. Last time I did, I kinda broke an arch."
"Tell me the truth Perseus." She said venomously.
"Why." He said throwing himself on the bed, "Why should I when my friends and I are being held against our will?"
"That's exactly why you should speak." She leaned on the far wall. "The blond boy and the chick are sedated in a cell, your other one is half burning to death from a fever."
Percy stopped dead in his tracks. Piper and Jason were sedated. Leo. He had forgotten about his unwell friend. And he was burning to death.
