₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ THE PLAN WAS ... in motion.
Dally and Liam were walking beside Noah, a kid that they had meet when they were brought back to the makeshift camp that Rick and Daryl had. Noah had just fired a shot into the air, knowing damn well that it would attract someone from his former group — he knew they would send someone. And they did, because only a little while later, a car pulled up and two people dressed as cops got out with their guns raised. This was the plan, for these cops to think they had Noah and the two others with him.
"Put it down, Noah." The woman said, her hun raised and trained on Noah who was slowly turning towards the two people he knew.
"You two, put the weapons down." The male cop spoke, his own gun trained on Dally and Liam. He saw the gun tucked into Dallys hands, and the machete tucked into Liams.
The three placed their weapons on the ground, just like they had been ordered too. Only they knew that they would get their weapons back and that in the shortest amount of time, the power would be in someone else's hands.
"Hands up. Turn around." The woman ordered, slowly walking towards the group with her gun ready to shoot. The three kids listened and held their hands our behind their backs. The male cop strolled forward and pulled zip ties from his pockets, zipping everyone wrists together. Once he had everyone's wrists tied together, he stepped away. "I thought you were smart, Noah. You think we wouldn't hear you?"
A small smirk formed on Dallys face. Maybe she was enjoying this too much, or maybe it was because she was a step closer to getting the revenge on the people who had caused pain.
"Where are those rotters you were shooting at?" The male cop asked, his face twisted in confusion as he looked around. Something wasn't right, the puzzle pieces weren't fitting together and he was figuring that out.
"Hands." Rick whistles. Arms outreached with a gun held in his hands. He stood tall, and with narrowed eyes and the smallest tilt of his head he stopped walking.
"What do you want?" The woman asked, both her and her partner whirling around to look at the group of people who had their guns raised and intimidating expressions on their faces.
"Whatever this is, we can help." The male cop spoke, trying to come up with a way to get back home safely without dying.
"You do what we say, we don't hurt you." Rick spoke lowly, the words rolling of his tongue with venom behind each word. He was scary like that, intimidating and overall, had the ways of a leader.
"Okay." The male cop stepped forward, his gun that he had once held now ready for someone to take.
"Good, now turn around." Rick said slowly, walking forward and not letting his scary mask fall. "Put your guns on the floor and kneel." They did as told, kneeling and letting someone from Ricks group tie their hands together. "We need to talk. There's water if you need some and food."
"Mind if I ask you something?" The now handcuffed male cop said, his eyes darting towards Rick who tuned and looked him in the eye. He steadied himself. "The way you talk ... the way you carry yourself ... we're you a cop? Believe it or not, I was, too."
"That's Lamson. He'll be down for this." Noah whispered to Rick. "He's one of the good ones."
Noah was interrupted by a car skidding towards them. When Rick shot his gun, Dally follow in suit, shooting hers at the car with hopes it might stop. It came to a stop and the two handcuffed police got into the car and it was off.
Everyone chased after them. Dally and Liam were hurrying to catch up to the group, having stopped because someones shoelace was undone. Turning the corner, the two heroes saw Rick and his people walking slowly.
In front of them was a burnt down area with zombie littered along the pavement. Some where groaning, and others lied still.
"Oh." Liam muttered as he looked around, his eyes locking onto a zombie that was melted to the ground. He wondered what had happen to cause this, what had happen before they had shown up to the scene.
"Be careful, Li." Dally whispered and she knelt down and plunged the knife she held into a zombie. When she pulled the knife back, blood coated the silver.
₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ KAT AND ADI ... had gone with Glenn, Rosita and Tara to find some more water that they could use. They were running low and if they didn't find anything, they would run out quickly. Lucky they had found water, and well it was filtering through a homemade filter that Adi and Rosita had made, they were scavenging for anything useful.
Plunging their knives in the zombies by the shore, they let the blood soak the silver before they wiped it on their pants. The plan was to take the clothing, the backpacks, the weapons, anything that they might be able to use.
"Jackpot." Kat muttered as she grabbed ahold of a bag covered in mud. They had to tug for it to come free, but shortly after they held it up and showed the group. Kat smiled.
"Nice!" Glenn congratulated them, sending Kat two thumbs up.
They walked back to camp, Adi and Kat side by side chatting away about how they thought the mission was going. They wondered, and liked to stay positive, but deep down they had a gut feeling that didn't sit right.
"Almost." Glenn muttered to Kat as he held one side of the net he and Rosita had made. They were trying to catch a fish, or anything that swam by. "Now." He said and the two pulled it up with big smiles. Inside was a smallish fish, one that might be able to feed two.
"Yeah!" Kat cheered, laughing as she held up the net holding the fish. They were happy, and in this moment it felt like everything was going right. "It worked!"
"Know how to clean these things?" Glenn questioned and Kat shrugged, not knowing how to clean them.
"I do," Rosita yelled out from where she was standing near Adi and Tara.
Glenn and Kat moved out of the water, handing the net of fish to Rosita as they cleaned up and gathered up everything they had grabbed. They would head back to camp soon before they would travel again. They'd go and meet Ricks group of people at the hospital, with big hopes that everyone was alive and well.
They would find a way to get the fire truck up and running, and then they'd drive it to the church where they would meet up with Carl, Gabriel and Michonne. Maggie would learn that Beth was still alive, and that she was located at a hospital. Kat and Adi were informed that all their friends were alive still, that the ones who had been kidnapped were okay.
Everyone spent some time together, chatting and catching up before they would get back on the road and travel to the hospital.
₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ CHARLI ... he could always get himself into trouble.
Somehow he had landed himself in his own room locked away before Dawn, the woman in charge, had caught him wondering the hospital trying to find a way out. He wasn't in any harm, and Dawn liked to think that he was just in time out.
Zay and Kohana ( along with Charli ) had made friends with Beth Greene, a teenager with blond hair and hope in her heart. They learnt that she a really friendly girl, one who invited them along with her where ever she often went.
Today Beth had invited them with her to a hallway where there was an elevator shaft they could dangle their feet into. It was quiet there, and peaceful. Or it was until Dawn showed up.
"Percy's going to be okay." Dawn said, leaning against the wall. Earlier Beth, Kohana and Zay had seen one of the higher ranked people push him to the ground where he was insulted and pushed around.
"Nothing's okay." Beth muttered as she lifted her head from the cool metal and looked down at her feet.
"Are you going to jump? Are any of you going to jump?" Dawn questioned, watching the three carefully. She wouldn't admit it, but in some twisted way, she needed them to keep herself strong.
"We just wanted to be alone." Beth answered for the three of them, eyes drying towards Kohana and Zay who were already looking at her. "You left your elevator key where it was."
"Well, I know you three aren't not going anywhere." Dawn replied, her lips pressed into a thin line.
"Neither are you." Beth snarked back quietly. "You... you keep telling yourself you have to do whatever it takes just until this is all over. But it isn't over."
"This is it." Zay said, turning towards the older woman who was staring at the three of them. It seemed in this moment that she didn't like them and that make it was a mistake bring them here to her hospital.
"This is who you are and what this place is until the end." Beth finished, the words rolling of her tongue with meaning in each word. She wasn't wrong, this was it, this is the world now.
"This place saved you." Dawn started, her eyes darting between them all before they landed and stayed on Beth. "I saved you. I saved you all. The others don't know what you did, Beth. They think Joan was trying to get back at me and that Gorman and Jeffries were in the wrong place at the wrong time."
"That's what happened." Beth defended herself, quickly forcing the words out as he turned her body around so she could face the older woman.
"Bullshit." Dawn exclaimed unhappily. "I saw the smashed jar. I closed up my office and I fixed it before it could be a problem. You're a cop killer."
"I would never kill somebody." Beth exclaimed back, growling more and more defensive.
"But you did." Dawn muttered before she turned towards the other two sitting with Beth. "And you two, how would everyone like to know that your friend Charli is wondering around causing all the trouble he can?" Dawn paused before she continued, standing tall with authority. "What do you think would happen if the others found out everything?"
The door opened and closed, someone stepping inside the small area where the four of them where. Whoever it was didn't look to happy, eyes narrowed and lips pressed into a thin line. He stayed there, standing at the door.
"What are you gonna do?" Dawn asked, her hand hovering over her gun.
"No, Dawn, what are you gonna do? Starting with them." The man asked taking a small and simple step forward.
"They're my workers. Its my call." Dawn replied, possibly saving their lives.
"Fine, but your people deserve to know who they're working for. So, you gonna tell them or am I?" Whoever it was tried to sound intimidating, like they had all the power. They didn't though, and it would show right away.
"You don't get to threaten me." Dawn said lowly, eyes narrowed as she stepped in front of the three kids.
"That's not a threat. But these are the facts. You look like shit. The guys are talking. They think you're cracking. This is Hanson all over again. It's time to make a change." The man turned around and headed for the door, ready to go and tell everyone he could. He would start the fire if no one stopped him.
"O'Donnell. You're wrong. I'm nothing like Hanson. I was the one who killed him, remember that? I was the only one who could go through with it." Dawn spoke as she stepped forward and raised her gun, aiming it right at the man who wanted take away her power.
"Lower your weapon, Dawn. All I have to do is shout." The man said, standing tall and steady despite the fact that he had a gun pointed right at him.
"All I have to do is say you came at me. You three, get out of the way." She said, looking over her shoulder towards Day, Kohana and Beth.
"You're not gonna do this." The man shook his head in disbelief.
"You're not giving me a choice." Dawns shoulders tensed as she moved her arms and gestured for the man to walk towards the side where he could access the door as easily.
"We were rookies together. You knew my wife. You were here in this hospital having cigars with me in the parking lot when my kid was born." O'Donnell said, hopping that dawn would lower the gun and let him go, let him live.
"Don't." Dawn snapped, her voice wavering. "That guy is gone. We're supposed to protect people. To help them. But look at you. You're beating the old man. You're laughing with your buddies about that poor girl getting raped. That's who you are now."
"So who the hell are you?" The man asked, tilting his head and taking a step forward.
"Somebody who's not gonna let it happen anymore." Dawn tilted her head too.
Beth grabbed ahold of both Kohana and Zays hand. It's like she was the one protecting them, the one making sure they were safe by her side.
"That's not what this is about. It's about holding on to what you have." O'Donnell gritted his teeth. She had power, she had it all.
"What the hell do I have?"
"This isn't you. After Hanson, you changed..." The man charged forward, slapping the gun out of her hands and pushing her against the wall with a grunt from them both. The two continued to fight, pushing and punching each other until the man got his fingers wrapped around Dawns throat. "You think you're better than us?!" When Beth stepped forward and tried to help, he elbowed her and pushed her back, turning his head to yell at her. "Stay in your lane, bitch!"
Dawn punched O'Donnell in the throat causing him to gasp and stumble back. Zay took a step toward him hesitantly before he looked towards Kohana. The man slowly recovered, moving towards Zay to use him as leverage.
Kohana had a different plan and charged forward, pushing him over the edge and down the elevator shaft where the body landed with a thud.
"Ko." Zay hugged the Kohana, wrapping his arms around her and thanking her.
"Zay, it's okay, you're okay." It wasn't okay. Kohana had just killed someone, she had ended their life.
