Singing Villains Part 1
Yes, this IS an excuse to make more chapters, but it's still relevant so READ!
Virgil's pov.
I sighed as I sat on a rooftop. I've been feeling more trapped lately… I told this to Piccani today. He suggested I "sing it out" or something. I didn't think it would work, but I trusted him, so here I am. I started to hum a song, starting it up on my phone.
Logan's pov.
I was patrolling on a lazy Thursday night, not expecting much. I had come to notice that ever since a fight between The Prince, The Duke and Paranoia two years, three months and seven days ago that Thursdays usually tended to be calm in terms of villain attacks. I didn't know why, but I never put much thought into it until three days ago.
Paranoia. I couldn't stop thinking about him. Something was familiar about him that I just couldn't process. Merely trying to figure him out made me doubt my own intellect.
Speaking of Paranoia, he was sitting alone on a rooftop a few meters ahead. I stopped as to not disturb him, as he seemed deep in thought. He started to hum a melody, leading me to come closer as he got up. Was he… Singing? And was there a song playing?
"I've seen a lot things in life that words can't explain..."
Shadows rose around him. Unlike his attacks, these had proper form. There were six of them, each seemingly representing a hero or a villain. Even a small amount of colored light was coming from each.
"See we ain't any different but we just ain't the same."
He looked around himself.
"They never listen when we tell 'em, tell 'emm"
He pointed at us heroes.
"All they understand is venom, venom."
He looked down at his hands.
"People only use you when you let 'em, let 'em..."
He looked at, who I presumed to be, Deceit and The Duke. What did that mean?
"Well if that's the case then I'm the one to blame..."
He started to walk towards the edge, the shadows surrounding him in waves.
"Cause there's a man over board
And the tide's gonna drag him down!"
He looked up at the sky.
"If there's a man in the clouds
Then tell me where the hell is he now?!"
He seemed angry, shouting up at the sky before looking down.
"Why is the silence so loud?
Have I thrown it all away?"
He turned around as the figures reformed, speaking to them.
"Lemme know, Lemme know.
Tell me, is that what happens just for having a good intention, tension ohh ohh..."
He looked at my figure
"Look what happened to my Good Intention, tension ohh ohh..."
He stomped his foot, mad.
"Why won't anybody answer my question?!
Why is the silence so loud?
I think I've thrown it all away…"
He looked at us.
"I don't know, I don't know
But lemme know."
He looked away.
"Hear me out before you label me the bad one..."
The other figures melted away, only leaving Deceit's. He hugged his arms and looked down.
"I'm walking through the desert but I'm drowning inside
No river runs deeper than the tear from my eye..."
He looked up at Deceit, speaking to him, in a way.
"You only went and made me bitter, bitter.
I wish I wasn't such a giver, giver."
He looked at my figure
"Apologise to my liver, liver...
Cause if that's the case then you're the one to blame!"
He shouted at Deceit's figure
There was a repetition of the main part before he started to pace, shadows surrounding him in waves.
"Am I wrong to think the worlds got it in for me?
And am I right to say I'm longing for some sympathy?
See I feel a sound, but I can't hear it.
That's my heart strings getting played like a symphony."
He turned to Deceit's figure.
"Yo, you know you turned me insane.
Why you staring at window when I'm the one with the pain.
You know you set me off the rails,
And you'll be to blame.
If you ever hear
I jumped in front of the train, we're both fucked in the brain!"
He sang a little more before he finished, sinking into the shadows. Huh...
