Chapter Two

Haily sat criss crossed on some roof, not that she knew which. She ran her hands through her black feathered wings. She'd let her run all the way from the top of her wings and all the way to the purple fringe, making sure she didn't miss anything. This was a daily thing for her, after every flight she had to clean her wings, making sure that something wasn't there. Then, when her and was in the middle of her left wing she felt something metal and hard. It seemed pretty small, and when she pulled it out she found that it was indeed a small, metal device. "What's this?"

After a few minutes of analyzing it she put it down on the ground as she hadn't found anything harmful with it. Even though she hadn't found anything harmful on or in it she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. She stuffed the device in her pocket and golde down from the roof. Her curly brown hair seemed to fly all over the place, as always. She landed on the ground and tried her best to hide her wings, it would probably wouldn't go so well if someone saw them.

She walked down the street and luckily found no one out at this time of day, not even any cars. The cold wind whipped at her, making her hair flow everywhere. Then she heard a soft sound, it was weak but it was still there. She turned towards it as quickly as she could and caught whatever was coming towards her. She examined it and realized that it was a tranquilizer, this put her on alarm- it would with anyone. She scanned her surroundings with her violet eyes. She wasn't about to ask who's there, because that would be all too cliche.

Then a hooded figure stepped out of the shadows as if this were some horror movie, which, spoilers, it isn't. "Hey, weird hood person!"

The hooded figure seemed to glare at her, but Haily couldn't actually tell due to the hood. The hooded person didn't respond at all, she just stood there, looking really creepy. "Are you just gonna stand there and look creepy, or?"

The hooded person threw themself at Haily who definitely didn't see it coming. Haily let her wings guide her up to the air, but after a while she fell for some reason, maybe her wings were just tired.

"What's your problem, huh?" Haily asked. "No, don't tell me... is it because I called you a weird hood person?"

The figure groaned and threw a swift kick to her stomach, which sent her flying. She hit the ground and groaned. "So it is because I called you a weird hood person."

The figure let out one last groan before they jumped onto her and injected her with the tranquilizer. Haily, after a minute, found herself losing the fight against unconsciousness and gave into the darkness.

Loukas walked down the dark street, his hands shoved into the pockets of his loose jeans. He glared at the bright lights for no reason. He knew it wasn't the best idea to walk down some street in the middle of the night, but he didn't care. Besides, if someone did attack him or something he knew several fighting styles and he wasn't unfamiliar with death, more specifically killing. He wasn't some goody-two-shoes superhero who never killed, no, he was an anti-hero.

He scowled as the lights started to flicker, but only a moment later they returned to shining brightly. He continued to walk down the street as he slowly got a feeling that someone was following him, stalking him. Being a symbiote he had a sense of when something was going to happen, or if someone was following him.

(By symbiote you do mean like Venom or something?)

He didn't quicken his pace, he wasn't in some horror movie. He didn't even bother to look over his shoulder. Then his senses sent an alarm to his head and he quickly turned around only to see some metal device flying towards him. He didn't have time to act before it landed right on his shoulder. "What the fuck is that?"

He tried to pull it out of his shoulder as any reasonable person would've, but it wouldn't budge. "Fuck."

Then he let out a long string of curses in different languages as the world started to blur. "Fucking tranquilizer."

He tried again to pull it out, but just as before it was completely stuck. He let out a few more curses as the world only continued to become blurrier and blurrier. "Hey! Tranquilizers don't come from thin air, so why don't you fucking show yourself!"

A woman stepped out of the shadows with a blowpipe in her hands. The hood of her black hoodie was ripped off and nowhere to be seen, otherwise her clothes looked intact. "Loukas Google Karma Johnson. What a name."

Loukas rolled his eyes. "Like you've got a better one."

The woman completely ignored his comment, and started right into his eyes. Her green eyes were truly green like the forest and her blonde hair was kept in a neat ponytail. He didn't have time to glare at her for long as he fell unconscious and- probably- hit the ground.

----------------------------

Blythe sat in her room, staring at the computer in front of her. Essays were the worst. She glanced at the clock, it was almost midnight and she was stuck finishing up an essay that's due tomorrow. She looked away from the screen for a moment and blinked several times. She was tired, but she really had to finish this essay. The rest of her family, her two younger siblings (who were twins) Ava and Jones, and her mother were probably asleep.

Blythe really wanted to be asleep as well, but here she was, typing away at her computer. When she typed down the final period her body seemed to scream in relief. Blythe turned off her laptop and placed it on her desk. She grabbed her pajamas from her bed and changed into them. She lay her old clothes on the desk next to the chair, she'd take care of them tomorrow. She was just too tired right now.

Then, right before she was going to climb into bed she felt a gust of wind flow past her cheek. She looked at the window and found it open, and it wasn't open before. Then she saw a figure wearing all black climb into her room. "What the fuck?"

Her sudden shock, horror and whatever emotions her mind were composed of right now made her windows shatter into different sizes of glass shards. The figure seemed to smile, but Blythe couldn't be so sure, the hood was hiding their face. Blythe acted on instinct as she sent her leg flying at the figures head. The figure dodged the kick my going into a crouching position. Blythe concentrated and the glass started to float above the ground. The figure muttered something under their breath, but Blythe couldn't make out what it was. Blythe sent a medium sized shard at the figures face. They dodged it, but the shard sliced through the hood. The hood fell down in two seperate pieces and showed the persons face. They were definitely female. They- she had long blonde hair that was in a neat ponytail. Her green eyes started at her, and for Blythe it was like looking into a forest. She stood up and ripped the two pieces of her hood of her black hoodie and let them fall to the floor.

"What do you want?" Blythe asked, trying to hide her fear.

The woman ignored her question as she jumped at her.

"Shit!" Blythe cursed as she tried to move aside, but the woman still landed on her. Blythe fell to the floor and the woman fell with her. When they'd hit the floor the woman grabbed something from her pocket, some sort of device. Blythe didn't know what it was, but she could tell that is was not good news. As the device came closer to Blythe's neck she started to struggle. In the end Blythe was able to twist and turn so much that she flipped them, so that she lay on top of the woman.

The woman didn't seem to care as she took Blythe's momentarily distraction to stab the device onto Blythe's neck. Blythe flinched as the needle went through her skin. Instantly Blythe's vision turned to blurs of colors. She could barely make anything out so when she heard her door open she panicked. "Blythe?"

Blythe's eyes opened as she turned to the direction of the voice which belonged to her younger sister, Ava. "Blythe, who's that?"

Blythe tried to answer, but found that she couldn't. It wasn't that she couldn't open her mouth, she couldn't form words so all that came out was a bunch on nonsense. She felt the woman push her off of her. All that Blythe could think was: please don't go to Ava, please, please, please.

Now her vision had gone completely dark and the last thing she heard was her sisters high pitched scream.
