Chapter Six
Persephone took a deep breath as she sat beside Alicia in her room.
"I can't believe Madeline made us to such a thing!" Alicia cried.
"I can't either," Persephone said. "το μισώ."
"You speak Greek?" Alicia asked.
"Uh, duh," Persephone said. "Do I speak Greek and then not know it?"
Alicia chuckled slightly. "I speak Greek too."
"Really?" Persephone asked. "Είναι υπέροχο."
"Είναι," Alicia responded.

Alve started down at his hands in horror. He had for a while now, but he did have his reasons. He was absolutely disgusted with himself. He killed someone, their blood was on his hands. Alve took a shaky breath and remembered when he was young and promised himself to never purposely harm someone in a fatal way. Now he'd broken that promise, his family would be absolutely disgusted. He remembered running across fields of green grass with his sister. The memory was faint. His mind was twisted in that way, happy memories were faint while sad, scary and horrible memories were so detailed it was like watching a movie.
One of these detailed memories was of the school shooting. He had been in third grade, only 9 years old. He was drawing when the doors of the classroom had been kicked down and a man in black with a big gun stepped inside. He'd told them to come with him put his teacher, Mrs. Smith had refused so he shot her. Alve remembered how the red liquid that ran from her wound had disgusted him. It smelled terrible. He wasn't stupid, he knew that she was dead, and so did the others. Or they at least she was gone, so they'd followed the man to the cafeteria where they'd gathered the rest of the school. He remembered the fear in everyone's eyes.He felt so sick, he had never been so terrified. It took awhile for the police to get there and on that day Alve lost his best friend, Aaron. When the police had taken down the men and he was allowed to go home he remembered the fear and relief in her eyes. Her little boy was alive. Later that day, she said words that would echo through his head for the rest of his life.
Alve, whatever happens, please, for the love of God, don't become like them. Don't take someone life, especially if they're innocent. Promise me?
I promise, Mom.
Tears spilled out of his eyes, he had one rule to follow and he just broke it. One rule, that shouldn't be so hard, should it? No, it shouldn't. So, why didn't he follow it? Well, if you toss in a psychopathic bitch named Madeline into the mess, then you'll find that rule seems like a thousand rules. Unlike Alicia, Persephone and Blythe he had no one to comfort him, he was completely alone to his thoughts.
There was nothing Alve wanted more right now than to just escape from this. He desperately wished it was a nightmare, so that he could just wake up and find himself in his bed with no blood on his hands and his one rule still in tact. Sadly, this wasn't a dream. He had blood on his hands and his rule had been ripped into shreds. Not even duct tape could fix it now. He wished he could just forget everything, then he wouldn't remember that rule, then this might be easier. But, not remembering his family, life or anything? It sounded terrifying, but right now... it didn't. It sounded like relief, a way to escape from his broken mind.
But as of right now he didn't have a way to lose his memories, and he certainly wasn't going to Madeline for help. He'd never forgive himself if he did, even if he wouldn't remember it. He was sure that he would feel some type of feeling nagging at his mind all of the time. He'd either find his own way, or just stay like this. In this terrible world with these terrible memories. But losing all of his memories? Maybe he was just in shocking, not thinking straight.
A knock on his door tossed him out of his thoughts and into the cruel reality. "Who is it?"
"Haily," a female voice answered. "I punched weird hood person and I sparred with you, if you don't remember my name."
Alve stood up and walked over to the door and opened it.
"Good to know you opened it. I would've kicked it down if you didn't," Haily said. "How're you doing?"
"Good," Alve shrugged.
"Liar," Haily sing-sang.
"Yeah, I'm not doing well, why don't you come in?" Alve said.
Haily walked inside and sat down on his bed and he sat down beside her.
"Sooooo," Haily started. "Did you remember my name?"
"I did," Alve smiled.
"Good, cause otherwise this would've been awkward," Haily laughed.
"It would have," Alve said. "Do you remember my name?"
"Alve," Haily said. "It's a type of name you don't forget, unlike Madeline. There's a reason I call her Weird Hood Person all the time."
"I must say, punching Mad- Weird Hood Person in the face? Amazing. Ten out of ten," Alve laughed. "I wish my exit was that cool."
"Oh, what did you do?" Haily asked.
"I just ran out of there," Alve said.
"You should've cartwheeled out of there," Haily said. "Kicking Maddy in the face."
"I should have," Alve laughed.
"You still get a three."
"A three? I feel so honored," Alve said.
"You should," Haily said.
"Well, what's a one?" Alve asked.
"Not leaving at all," Haily said, hitting him lightly on the arm.
They continued like this, talking about random things and enjoying it. They talked about their lives before Weird Hood Person, for that was Madeline's new name, took them. Alve didn't mention the promise or the school shooting, though. But he had to admit that he had a great time and he hoped that Haily did too. They talked the day away and before they knew it Agatha was at his door and lead them down to the dining hall for dinner.
They walked in to see Blythe talking to Loukas who was pushing food into his mouth and nodding every now and then. Persephone picked at her food and Alicia ate at an average pace, unlike Loukas. Alve sat down beside Loukas and Haily sat down beside Persephone.
"How do you eat so much?" Blythe asked.
"It's simple, I fucking eat," Loukas said.
"But how?" Blythe replied.
"I have a stomach," Loukas said. "Don't you?"
"I do, but that doesn't mean I can eat that much!" Blythe said.
Loukas shrugged and continued to eat. "Madeline! I'm nominating you for worst fucking kidnapping psychopath!"
Madeline who was caught by surprise and said, "What?"
"You heard me," Loukas said.
Madeline rolled her eyes and ignored the nominations.
"Come on Maddy! Don't be rude!" Haily said.
Once again Madeline ignored her, knowing that this would pay off in the end. If she had to suffer through their annoying comments to achieve her dream, then she'd just sit through it. Nothing was going to stop her now.
----------------------------
After dinner Blythe headed up to her room and sat down on her bed and thought about all that had happened during the day. How she had actually killed someone. Killed. Murdered. Dead. Blood. The words ran through her head, taunting her. It was hard, but she was glad to have such understanding teammates. She knew that they deserved a better teammate. Blythe was so weak and vulnerable right now. She had to strong for them, for Ava. She had to rebuild walls, not ones that blocked others out. No, ones that locked out her sadness, so she could show her team all that she was. That she wasn't some weak girl, she was strong.
