Chapter 25-Response

"Lukas!" I got up and ran over to him to notice that he wasn't alone. Once I got closer to him I saw him carrying someone on his back. It was his brother. He struggled to carry him  and once he got fully got inside he slowly lowered to the ground and let his brother slide of his back. After that he stayed down on his knees on the ground to catch his breath.

"What happened?" I asked him, not knowing what to do right now. It took him a moment to catch his breath to respond to my question.

"What do you think?" He snapped at me. "We could of avoided this, we could have saved him earlier. You could have told me when you first saw me. You knew he was brother all along and you were so close to leaving him behind without me knowing," I noticed he had scrapes and bruises all over his body, and guilt rushed through me.

"Lukas! I'm so sorry, we were caught up in the moment I didn't even think about it until we were almost out!" I spoke with honesty.

"Because you didn't care if my brother died their or-"

"Shut the hell up," Herobrine interrupted him. Lukas turned his head in surprise toward him, like he had forgotten he existed."Who the hell cares, she still told you didn't she? I'm surprised she gives a damn about you, she doesn't even know who you are."

Everything was silent and we only heard each other's breathing. It was awkward for a moment until Lukas finally spoke up.

"You're right," He said. "I'm sorry. I'm just so afraid. We barely got out of their, and... I don't know if we will be ok." He got up slowly to look down at his brother. I quickly got some left over gauze and gave it to him.

"I understand," I said to him. "Just help him," He gave me a sad smile before he bent down to the ground to help his brother patch his wound. I looked down on them. Noah was barely awake, his eyes were half closed and their was so much blood on the floor and on him. I wanted to look away but I couldn't.

"Thank God Notch wasn't their," He said as he patched his brother up.

"He wasn't their?" Herobrine asked him

"No, no where to be seen. The guards are the one who caught me, I was barely able to get out."

I flinched, thinking back to the dream Notch had invaded. When he's in my dreams that means he's also unconscious. He was too busy Terrorizing me to even notice someone broke into his castle.

"Lukas," I asked., "If you knew Notch was bad, why did you work for him?" I heard a deep sigh come from him after I asked him the question. I Looked over towards Herobrine I saw him move in closer, he was interested in how he was going to respond.

"I didn't want to join him. My brother was the one with him first. Notch wanted me to work with him, but I refused. But one day my brother got hurt, I don't know how, but he was going to die if Notch didn't save him." He said in a quiet tone, as if he didn't want anyone to hear.

"What? Why did Notch have to save him?" I asked, getting interested in the conversation.

"He had healing powers.. He told me he would heal my brother as long as I joined his army. He.. manipulated me," It was quiet for a moment. He lifted up from the ground, done bandaging his brother and looked at me and Herobrine.

"Why did he want you on the team?" Herobrine broke the silence. Lukas flinched after he said that.

"I...I don't know. He told me I was strong, but he went out to force me to join his team for my brothers sake. I knew something wasn't right, I think he wanted me for something more than just my strength-"

"Obviously,"Herobrine interrupted him again, "What was it, you have to know! What did he say to you after you joined the team, what did you do to serve him?" Lukas looked at him in shock after his outburst, Herobrine knew that wasn't the reason Notch wanted him.

"I..." Lukas began, not wanting to say anything more. We stared at him, waiting for an answer to come out of his mouth, we need to know what was happening.

"SPIT IT OUT!" Herobrine yelled.

"I HELPED HIM MAKE THE PROPHECY!" He yelled out. It was silent again, no one said anything. My heart thudded in my chest. Hopefully it wasn't the prophecy I was thinking of. No, only a alchemist could do that, and they were extremely rare.

"W-what prophecy?" I asked nervously, praying that it wasn't-

"The amulets of destiny..." He signed, looking extremely guilty.

There was no way..

Suddenly Herobrine got up, he walked over to Lukas and grabbed him by throat and pushed him against the wall with no mercy.

"ARE YOU MAD?" He screamed in his face,"You have no idea what you have done! Not only will it kill ME! IT WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING!" the grip of his neck in his hand got tighter and tighter.Lukas struggled for air and I could see face get redder and redder from oxygen loss.

"Herobrine let go of him!" I yelled at him, grabbing his shoulder and trying to pry his arm away from Lukas. Surprising, he let go. Lukas fell to the floor and gasps for breath as Herobrine put head down, his hair covering his eyes.

"You're right..I'm sorry!" Lukas said quickly when he caught his breath. "I should have told you, im sorry. No more secrets"

I knelt down to help him get on his feet, he placed his hand around his neck to rub the pain away. I could see a red hand mark in the place where Herobrine grabbed him. I looked over at Herobrine in disbelief, but his head was still down. I noticed his knuckles were in a ball, like he was so ready to punch the living hell out of him. His teeth were grinding together, and his expression was filled with pure rage. I understood it was frustrating, following and trusting an alchemist who created a prophecy to kill you, but it felt bad to be angry at someone who was forced to do it.

"Herobrine?" I asked, getting concerned over his behavior. "It wasn't his fault-"

"That's not it." he said before I could finish, he out down his head even further, like he didn't want me to see his face.

"Then what is it? Why are you so angry?" I asked, I could hear the concern in my own voice.

"I-" he began, but suddenly stopped himself. Something wasn't right, there was something he wasn't telling me.

"What is it?" I asked, wanting, waiting, needing for an answer. I don't know what it was, But I felt like he was hiding something big from me, and I needed to know what it was.

"I need to go back..." He in a such a low voice as if he didn't want us to hear.

"BACK? BACK WHERE?" I yelled so loud it made both of their heads turn abruptly toward me. I didn't know why, but I needed to yell. I needed someone to talk to me, I felt like I couldn't trust anyone, as if the people surrounding were lying in my face.I needed the truth..."Herobrine, your not telling me everything. I need to know what's going on. I'm not sure what to think or who to trust. I know you don't like talking about your past or about what's going on, you just want me to follow you.But can I at least know why i'm following you?"

He stood their, his expression almost in shock. It looked like he didn't know what to do or what to say. He looked so lost in his thoughts, and I could understand that...

I could see him close his eyes to try and ignore my words.I was angry he was trying to avoid the topic, but I stayed calm. I took in one deep breath to calm my nerves and closed my eyes.

"I can see why it is hard to trust people after they've been trying to hurt you for so many years.."

"You wouldnt understand, you dont know my pain"

"Your right, I don't know how to understand unless you tell me"

"You know nothing about me, stop trying to assume everything"

"I know enough about you to know that your just as lost as I am."

"I'm not lost, I know exactly what i'm doing"

"Stop trying to say it's fine, you obviously brought me along with you for reason, inspiration you say?I don't believe that one bit. You don't seem like the type of person to get inspired."

"Then..What else would it be?"

"GUYS?" I suddenly heard Lukas suddenly screamed out. I jolted my eyes open and could see Herobrine looked in the most shocked and confused expression I've ever seen him in, and I felt the same way.

"What the hell was that?" Lukas asked us.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused about what just happened but distracted by his voice.

"You guys just closed your eyes, and then I started hearing whispers,it was freaky, were you guys like whispering to yourselves?" he asked, super concerned and freaked out.

"Whispering?" I repeated "I don't think I was...What did you hear?"

"I don't know, it sounded like a different language." He said

"Your imagining things," Herobrine said. "I know for a fact I didn't say a word"He got up and walked in between us. "Alright, I need you tell you guys something"

I couldn't focus, what was that? I was just saying what was on my mind, but then why did it feel like he was responding to me?
