Chapter 22-Powerless
Chapter
There were many emotions running through my head and it made me ache. What should I do? What shouldn't I do? What's the right thing to do...? Ever since I've been being used by Herobrine I've trailed off toward my mind instead of the real world. Before this even happened I'd lived a normal, peaceful life without anyone or anything. Why was it right for me to help a villain? Am I leading everyone down the wrong path with me?If i'm helping someone do something wrong doesn't that make me a villain too? But...If I left him there i'd feel extremely guilty because he'd saved me once before as well, but he also took me away from my home. There was no reason to save him and no reason to leave him either...So then why did I?
I continued walking, ignoring the weight I held on my shoulder.I looked down at Herobrine, who hung on my shoulder as blood dripped down all over his face and neck. His eyes were closed, and his expression was unreadable which surprised me, he'd always had a look of hatred and annoyance, but his face didn't even look like he was in pain, it was almost...sad.He half walked/limped his way threw the tunnel, the rest of him being dragged by me. This was half of his weight and I could barely walk, especially when his heavy head was leaning on my shoulder. I suddenly thought about Noah, which I had totally forgot about when trying to save Herobrine. Should I tell Lukas? Or just ignore it because he may die. I wouldn't want have him to risk his life to save his brother just to find out that he already died. But what if there was a chance to save him? then I'd feel extremely guilty. I never associated with people much before meeting Herobrine other than my family, so if it were me in his place...What would I want? If I had a family member dying inside and out in that castle and more likely to die within seconds, would I risk my life to save someone that might not even make it? Again, I looked down at Herobrine, who didn't move his place at all. If I was going to save this monster, of course i'd help a family member as much as I could.
"Lukas," I said, still following him down the hollow tunnel, my footsteps echoing against the walls. I was scared to tell him the truth, because it were me in the state, i'd be very angry if someone hadn't told me about someone I cared about was dying inside the castle sooner, or already dead..
"Yes?"He said, not turning his head around to look at me or stopping to listen. His heavy footsteps made little water splashes against his boots as he held the torch up high in the air.
"Its..."I hesitated,afraid he might snap for not telling him before he even knew what I talking about.He stopped for a second, realizing my hesitation and turning around to look at me. He gave me a serious look that stared into my soul and I slowly stopped my tracks as well. Herobrine made a little groaning noise to show his annoyance for stopping abruptly without opening his eyes or mouth. Even though he tried not to act like it it was very obvious he was in an intense amount of pain. "It's-Your brother...I..I found him while looking for Herobrine in one of the cells.He was real beat up and thought he wouldn't make it-" I started to talk and panic more and more as I spoke until I finally stopped when Lukas didn't say anything..
I slowly lost my gaze from Herobrine and up toward him. I slowly started to panic when he didn't say anything
He suddenly turned around and shoved thru me, holding the torch and not even glancing at me as he walked by.
"Keep walking straight,you'll find shelter nearby when you get out, it's not to far. I'll meet up with you there," is all he said when he walked into the darkness, until I finally couldn't see him again.
I looked ahead, seeing a dim lit exit far away from me. I wasn't shocked, I knew Lukas would go back to save his brother, but who wouldn't? I looked at Herobrine, expecting him to make a snarky comment. But he laid his head down and closed his eyes, still in a heap of pain. I signed, continuing to walk forward until I reached the exit.
It was night time, and the stars were twinkling in the night sky. I looked around to see if I could find any shelter, but all I saw was tree's. Then I remembered him telling me to continue walking straight, so I tightened my grip on Herobrine and walked onto the blocky grass, not looking back at the terrifying castle.
~~~
I walked and walked and walked, I couldn't find anything! I've been walking straight for meraly 30 minutes and I couldn't find anything. Did I pass it?Am I lost? By now my shoulders were aching with pain from Herobrine and my feet felt like they were on fire. I groaned in pain as I continued walking and dragging Herobrine. He didn't make any noise, and he was barely walking. I looked down at him a little concerned and saw his face paler then before. He was loosing blood, to much blood, and he was growing weaker. I tried to move faster and I debated to myself to just rest in the middle of the forest, but I suddenly looked up and saw something.
It was shelter, finally. He was right, it was here. I signed in relief and walked into the small wooden house, which was very hidden in the dense forest. I opened the door and walked onto the wooden floor and immediately spotted a bed.I walked over to it and gently placed Herobrine into it. Suddenly, I looked at all his wounds one by one.
His head had pools of blood pouring down onto his face. His wrists had red marks, indicated that a tightrope has been on him. There were deep scratches all over his chest and stomach. And on his right arm, one deeply cut wound from his shoulder to his hand.
I panicked and looked around, trying to find something that may help. I spotted a chest and quickly ran over to it. The first thing I spotted was clothing, it wasn't gauze but it could still do the job. "I hope he won't get angry at me," I said as I tore a shirt and some pants.
I looked around again and spotted a cauldron and bucket laid on top of it. I prayed to myself as I walked over that there would be some water in it, to my luck there was. I got the small bucket and filled it water and walked over to Herobrine, still dropping blood from his wounds across his body.
I started off with his biggest wound, which was across his arm. I grabbed the clothing and bucket of water and got it wet enough so I could clean his wounds.I sat next to him on the bed and grabbed his arm tightly and ripped his shirt open where the wound was and began to scrub away the blood the best I could. He cringed in pain and tried to pull his arm free but I held on tightly and continued scrubbing the blood off. I grabbed some dry cloth that I set down next to me and wrapped it around his wound so it would stopped bleeding, and proceeded to do this with his other wounds.
I singed, feeling very tired from this whole event, running into Notch, running from Notch. Everything was just exhausting,I haven't had a descent sleep in days. I closed my eyes a little bit, hoping I wouldn't fall asleep.I didn't want to rest, I wanted to wait for Lucas, and I was also afraid of a stranger walking into the unlocked house.
Suddenly I heard a slight movement next to me and looked over at Herobrine. He groaned in pain and moved around a bit in the small bed.
"Where...Are...We?" He mumbled in the quietest voice i've ever heard him speak in, pausing after every word he said.
"It doesn't matter at the moment. Just stop moving and go back to sleep," I told him. I didn't know what else to tell him, I didnt even know where we were at the moment.
He groaned, wanting me to give him an answer. But he gave in and stopped moving around, probably not because I told him too, but because every movement was painful to him. I knew he was uncomfortable in the bed, it wasn't the most stable bed ever, but it was better than the floor.I looked at him once more, making sure he was ok and there was no bleeding. I noticed his face was covered in sweat. I walked over to him and rested my hand on his forehead, which was burning hot.
I looked silently at him, I could never expect the demon he was could get sick. The all powerful Herobrine, was more vulnerable than I thought. To his defense, he was in that cold room for a while. He probably hasn't eaten or drank in forever.
Once again, I walked over to the chest and looked for any food and anything useful. Nothing but scattered items and clothing was sprawled out all over the floor and chest. I signed, and noticed a furnace sitting next to the chest. I prayed something would be in it and bent down to look inside. I was lucky, one piece of chicken lied inside the furnace,already cooked. I picked it up, sadly realizing it was only big enough for one person. I walked over to the cauldron and grabbed a glass bottle that stood next to it and filled it up with water and walked over to Herobrine.
He half opened his eyes when I walked over to him as sweat trickled down his forehead. I could tell he was hungry. He tried to sit up, holding his stomach as he did and groaning in pain until he was up fully. I held out the food and water and he grabbed it immediately and began to eat into the chicken as quickly as he could and taking a few sips of water every once in a while.
I sat down on the floor, feeling weak,tired, and hungry.Scratches and bruises were made across my body when I went to rescue Herobrine. I grew a headache from all the running around without any food or water I haven't had in days,but he needed it more than I did. I rested my head against the wall and signed. I worried about Lucas, would his brother survive? When would he come back? I hope I didn't upset him to much. Hopefully Notch didn't catch him...
"Thin.." I heard Herobrine mumble something beside me, I barely could make out what he said with his mouth full of food. I looked over him, who was still sitting in his bed, staring at me, which creeped me out because he never made such direct eye contact to me. He immediately looked away, half of his chicken in his hand. He covered his face with his right hand,looking far away as possible from me. He lifted up his left hand towards me, still holding the piece of chicken.
I didn't know what he was doing at first, but he moved his hand closer and gave an angry groan after I sat there for a moment staring at his hand.
"Y-you're... Giving it to me?Don't you want it?" I asked him, hesitant to talk toward his angry figure.
"Just take it," he said in an irritated voice. I reached out to grab the chicken in his hand, hesitating a bit, but I finally touched the chicken in his hand and grabbed it. For a moment I looked at his arm, which was covered in clothing to cover up the blood from the wound. Scars were all over his tan arm and I could feel his warmth radiate off of him, even if it was just his arm, it was weird to be this close to him. He snatched his arm away from me when I got the chicken.
I held it in my hands, looking at it for a minute before taking a bite into it. It has been a while since I ate food, and this little piece of chicken tasted like heaven. Once I was finished, I got up and took Herobrine's glass which didn't have anymore water in it and went to the cauldron. It wasn't barely filled with water but it was enough to fill a glass up. I put Herobrine's glass on the counter, grabbing a new one and filling it up with water and chucking it down until it was gone.I set it down when I was done, and turned around towards Herobrine.
"Hay you should really-" I stopped, gasping at what I saw.
Herobrine sat on his bed, one hand on his lap. His eyes were half closed and his breathing increased. More sweat trickled down his forehead but the worst part was his eyes. Right in front of me his eyes got dimmer and dimmer. Slowly the white eerie glow from his pupils faded until finally they looked like a normal human beings eyes ( without the pupils ).
"Herobrine! What's happening!?" I panicked walking over to him, but he just sat there,looking miserable. His eyes were still half closed and he didn't move like he didn't hear me at all. I grabbed his shoulders and shook him aggressively until he looked up at me.
"What...?" He groaned, looking at me like he was trying to be annoyed, but he barely moved.
"What's happenings to you?"I tightened my grip on his shoulders. His weak state scared me. I didn't know what was happening to him. "Herobrine!"
He pushed me off of him and looked at me like I was insane. But he looked at my panicked state and his expression turned into confusion.He looked at both of his hands, and began to notice what was wrong with him. He began touch his stomach and legs, like he was looking for something that was missing. He touched the back of his neck and felt the sweat trickle down from his face. Abruptly, he tried to stand up, but his weak form had him back in his bed within seconds. Suddenly, he clenched both of his fists and screamed bloody murder in anger. I held my ears and felt the house move from his abrupt scream of misery.
"DAMN YOU NOTCH! DAMN YOU!" He screamed, holding his face and looking down at the bed he was sitting in.
I shook a bit, the sudden outburst of his anger scared me, I didn't know what was wrong with him. But what happened to him obviously had to been serious, and from Notch.
"Herobrine...?" I mumbled, scared that he would suddenly take out his anger on me. "What.. Happened...?"
He refused to look at me, and grumbled a little bit. He clenched his face harder, and mumbled to me
"He...Took my powers."
A/N
Howdy! Its been a while. Sorry, I needed to think about what to write about for the next chapter and had to worry about school as well. I made sure the story was twice as long this chapter and worked really hard to add some drama to it as well. Hope you like it!
