Chapter 19- The Wrong Way Out

~(A/N)~

I know its been a while since I have written another chapter, but thank you for you're patience guys! I made this chapter twice as long as I normally do. Here is you're reward for waiting. =D

*Your'e Pov*

We were walking for 10 minutes and still haven't found anything, and  it was starting to irritate me.

"I don't think he's this way, lets just choose a different route," I told him, stopping abruptly in my footsteps.

Lucas stopped to look at me. "What? We don't even know where it ends, it could end right where Herobrian is," He said turning around again to look at the passage way.

"Herobrine, you mean?" I said, smiling  just a little.

"ya ya, whatever,  all I know hes the bean of chaos. Why do you need to save him anyway? Weren't you his prisoner? I don't see why you need to save him, if you want we can turn around now and leave.

"No, if the main character is left behind in the story, the plot would explode and the fan girls would go crazy." (Just kidding this isn't in the story.)

I thought for a moment. Why do I need to save him? If I escaped without Herobrine, could I finally go home and find my family? And what about the amulets? (Yes, they still exist) Would he explore to find them on his own, or would he fail and be cutt off Minecraft forever? And why do I ask so many questions?

I thought about one of the questions I asked myself. But I don't want Herobrine to be executed. I finally convinced myself.

"I need his help with something," I lied.

"Well, ok. Hopefully you arnt afraid of the dark, because the passage way ran out of torches."

I looked in front of him into the long, dark hallway. "Maybe we should-"

"DONT worry, once we get to the end it will be worth ITTTTTTTTTT--" His voice got dimmer as he fell into a dark hole I didnt notice before.

"LUCAS" I yelled grabbing a torch from  hallway behind us and running over to the hole to see if he was alright.

"Well, the good news is I fell on my butt," he said looking up at me. I noticed now the hole was a cave, it was not that far down, but far enough you could not climb out.

"Bad news?" I asked.

He looked around the whole cave. "I have no idea where I am," he said. "DONT WORRY! It might be Notch's Secret hallway, If I just walk strait, i'm sure I can find a way out." He walked a few inches away from where he was standing and ran into a wall. "When did you get there?"

"U-hh.. I think i'm going to come down." I told him. I dont want to roam this castle alone, and he knew more where he was going then I did.

"No!" He said, "If you even want to find that punk i'd suggest not coming down here-"

Just as he said that I ignored him and  jumped down there anyway, practically landing on him with an OOF! We quickly pushed off each other and looked away.

"To late. But thanks for breaking my fall," I expected him to be annoyed at me, since I completely ignored him and jumped down AND  landed on him, but he instead started laughing.

"Its fine, but I have no idea where we are, but at least you still have the torch. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea that you came down here, its to dark to see anything."

"Ya," I said, lifting the torch around trying to look for an escape. I could hear echoes of water droplets in the background and zombies groaning, it startled me. I tried to shake off the thought that there were monsters down there and out my thoughts into finding Herobrine.

If we came to him to late and he was already hurt or worse, dead, I wouldn't live with myself. Not because I care for him or anything but because it would be my fault, i'm the one who led the people to Herobrine. I know he treats me badly but he's never harmed me, only threatened to kill my family. Wait, that's bad, what if I left here without him, what if I went to find my family. Do I really need to save him to go home? But he knows where they are, he's the one who took me to his home, he knows where they are and once I do what he tells me to do I can go home, right? But what if I never find my family? What if hes just tricking me..! What if he actually is evil and I'm just to nice to realize that. What if my family is dead, what if he killed them, would he even do that? Why does he need me anyway? I'm sure he can handle traveling across Minecraft and taking a rock wont be that hard. What if im the bad guy, and Notch isnt? Notch made the Amulet so he could one day have enough power to remove him for good,  why should I help Herobrine? why cant I just let that happen?

"(Y\N)..."I heard a soft whisper. Who was that? Suddenly, My body felt like it was shaking, like the world was spinning, and suddenly, I was popped into the real world. "(Y/N!) ARE YOU OK?" Lucas said, holding my body tightly as I laid on the ground.

"What Happened!?!" I cried out and stood up very quickly. My body got light headed from the quick pace of standing up. Lucas noticed this and put out his hand on my back to support me.

"You were looking for a passageway out until you suddenly fainted! I freaked out  because you looked dead. You were like that for at least 10 minutes. What happened?"

"Fainted? Wouldn't I remember? I don't have any memories of fainting," I said, looking up at Lucas who was now holding the torch in his hand.

"I don't know, but we better get a move on, I think know how to lead you to Herobrine," He said, pointing to  a passageway filled with a shallow of water on the floor. It looked like a pipe, and I started to smell it now that I was facing it, and It smelled like death. "Follow me," he said, leading the way thru the smelly, creepy, looking tunnel.

Walking thru the tunnel was very cold, every step I took was another sloppy sound under my feet. I looked at Lucas who was right in front of me, leading me thru the passageway, not afraid of what could pop out of the darkness.

"Lucas."

"Hmh?" He mumbled looking at the walls of the tunnel suspiciously.

"Thank you, for everything. I really appreciate you're help. Its not every day you're thrown in jail and, ya'know, let out by the guard."

"Oh, hahah," He giggled, not turning around to look at me like he normally did. "N-no problem." He turned his head back and forth to look like he was to busy to look at me.

Only moments has passed and we were still walking thru the disgusting passageway. I wasn't comfortable here,  every few minutes I could see bats on the walls every time the light shined on there furry bodies, they squeaked before flying away right passed us and it reminded me of a haunted house, especially when you could hear zombies in the background and you were walking in complete gunk. Lucas hasn't said a thing and even though we met a few hours ago it felt like I already knew what he was like. For  example, he talked a lot, and the only time I wasn't in a complete conversation with him was this very moment. I figured it was getting to awkward and I tried to make a small talk instead of sitting in complete silence.

"How did you become a guard for Notch?" I said, speeding up my pace and walking by his side so I could make eye contact.

He looked at me for a second then turned his head away from me. "I... volunteered," he looked up at the bats and cobwebs on the stone walls with a weird look, he looked more uncomfortable then I was.

"Oh... Uh... Cool! Have  you always wanted to be a guard? Was it you're plan?" I asked him another question to keep the conversation going.

He chuckled. "Yup."

It kinda stunned me that he didn't go into complete detail, but I didn't have  enough time to ask another question. He stopped in his tracks and so did I, looking at him with a confused look.

"That's our way out," Lucas pointed over to a ladder on the wall, leading out to the surface. Above the ladder I could see a little bit of light shining thru to the passageway. "Lets go."

Lucas walked over to the ladder and threw the torch on the ground, it sizzled in the water before fading away,he didn't need it anymore. After that he began to climb the metal ladder with both his hands and began reaching up to the surface, and I followed.

Once we were finally on ground level I looked around. The ladder was right next to a wall of a humongous room where a throne stood in the middle, but there was one door that was directly in front of it and once Lucas saw it, he smiled.

"This way," he said, going over to the huge door. I cautiously followed, hoping no other guards would pop up, which I would expect since they should be guarding Notch, right?

Lucas went over to the doors and looked over at me, still smiling. "You ready?" He asked me.

"Uh... No! We need a plan before barging in on-" before I could finish it was to late, Lucas opened the door and what I saw was not what I was expecting. The outside world.

"WHAT! You went the wrong way!" I yelled, but not to loud to attracted people.

He laughed. "No! I was going the right way the whole time, this is the way out, we can go now" he tried to lend me a hand to follow him.

I gave him a dirty look and smacked his hand. "Y-you LIED TO ME?! But I trusted you!"

He gave me a weird look and said "you think i'm stupid? You think I DON'T KNOW whats going on here?EVER SINCE I BECAME NOTCH'S GUARD HE'S BEEN ONLY PUSHING US GUARDS AROUND, instead of guards were his slaves! He's been throwing us out to find HEROBRINE who is THE KING OF DESTROYING AND KILLING PEOPLE AND NOTCH IS JUST LETTING US DIE. He wants to capture Herobrine so badly he doesn't even care about if his people die or not. Just face the facts that Herobrine is already dead. Notch is going to consume his power and his energy and retrieve the amulet so he can remove him for good. Just let it happen."

I couldn't believe it. For someone I thought was my friend just led me even farther away from the man I needed to save. "I-I trusted you."

"I'm sorry," he said, looking at the sun that was about to set. "Look, your'e-you're crazy if you want to try and rescue Herobrine. He's... Probably already dead anyway, if you rescued him, how would you even know he wouldn't hurt you?"

I tried to avoid eye contact, I was disappointed. I let a few tears slip out of my eyes before I finally answered the question I've been asking myself this whole time. Why do I need to save him?

"Do you... Do you ever wonder if Herobrine is just protecting himself? And what would happen after Herobrine dies? You've already come thru to me that Notch is not a great person and that doesnt mean Herobrine is because Notch said so. He's actually not that bad once you get to know him. I got him into this mess, and i'm going to fix it. If you're a loyal guard and want to help this world you can come with me." I didn't let him respond and walked away. But all those plans Herobrine was making to destroy Notch finally made sense. I need to find Herobrine now, after what Lucas said, I need to find him fast.

~A/N~ Sorry that Herobrine isn't in this chapter, he will be in the next one.
