The Dream

I awoke to find myself in a place I had never seen before. I stood and saw that I was surrounded by trees and other plants. Did Notch send me into Minecraft? I wondered. No, something was off. I thought for a moment when I realized what seemed different, I felt no pain. I looked down and saw that I had no injuries or any sign that I had just fought for my life. I looked around again. "Is this a dream? It must be. I just fought an Enderman, some skeletons and some zombies, and yet I have no injuries." I said out loud, not expecting a response.

"No this isn't a dream, Herobrine, this is your mind." I heard a strange voice say. I turned around to come face to face with myself. The only difference was that he had an evil grin on his face, he was wearing a dark purple hoodie and dark blue pants.

"Who the hell are you? And why the hell did you just call me Herobrine?" I asked now even more confused than I was before.

"Don't you reconize me?" He asked holding is arms partly out to the side. "I'm you, well future you. I am what you will become, this is what you will turn into after what happened." He, I said mockingly. I clenched my hands and tried to attack him. He teleported out of the way and pinned me down to the ground. I struggled to get up but he was a lot stronger than me. "Now, now, is that how you treat yourself? Why are you struggling? their's no point, I'm ten times stronger than you and hold a lot more power than you could ever imagine."

"What do you want? Why am I even here? Where is here?" My questions started flooding out of my mouth before i could stop them. "And who the hell is Herobrine?" I shouted the last question at him as he finally released me from his iron grip. He looked at me like I should already know.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Brine?" He asked looking board. "We are Herobrine. You and I, we are the same the only difference, I'm from the future, I am how the world will see you after the incident."

"What incident? What are you talking about?" I asked wanting more answers that I knew would never come. I saw he had a long scar that went from the top of his right eyebrow, over his eye, and fell partially down his cheek.

"Sorry Brine, can't tell you that, there are rules that even I have to follow, but I have come to warn you. You need to keep your guard up, I don't know when he'll strike, but he will, and when he does, your life will be changed forever. You must defeat him. If you don't, well, lets just say your future won't be a bright one." Herobrine warned.

"Who?" I asked, but he started to walk away, I started thinking and something hit me like a brick. "Wait, Herobrine, what about Steve? Will he be ok?"

At that Herobrine stopped and clenched his hands into fists. I saw his shoulders tense and he turned around to face me one last time. His face was red, and had a look of pure hate. "Sadly that traitor will survive, he will thrive while you fall to your doom, he will be practically worshiped by everyone who meets him, while you are hated and feared by everyone. Yes that traitor will live and he will be loved by all, and you will fall, you will be treated like you have been plotting against everything that you have ever fought for. All your blood, sweat, and tears will be thrown away like rotten flesh." Herobrine snapped at me. I backed away slowly in shock, I hit a tree and stopped, Herobrine came closer to me and looked me right in the eye. Just by looking at him, I could tell he had been through a lot. It's almost like I could see his, my, whole past just by looking into his eyes. "Not only will Steve betray you, but so will many others. Notch, Jeb, even Ben will turn against you." I shook my head in disbelief. "You still dont belive me do you? Well, I guess you'll have to find out the hard way, won't you?" He turned and walked away from me. Just before he left he said over his shoulder, "It's time for you to wake up Herobrine, but don't forget my warning, it will come, just you wait and see." And he was gone.

I stood alone in the dark waiting for something to happen. Nothing did, so I thought about what Herobrine had said. Was he telling the truth? Will they all really betray me? After all I've done, will they really turn thair backs on me? I shook my head. No, they wouldn't. Notch, Ben, even Jeb have been their for me the whole way. They wouldn't just turn on me would they? I shook my head again, I tried to clear my thoughts, but one question kept popping up in my mind, 'Who is Herobrine?' the other me said that we were both Herobrine, but how did we become him? What will happen to me?

I was sitting around pondering everything that he had said, when I herd a familiar voice say my name. At first it was quiet and I thought I was hearing things. Over time the voice got louder and I could clearly hear that the voice that was calling my name was Steve. I snapped out of my thoughts and tried to wake up.

~Dream ends~

I opened my eyes to see a blinding light above me. I quickly shut them again. Okay, Brine, let's try this one more time. I opened my eyes again, much slower this time, and allowed my eyes to adjust to the sudden bright light. Once I could open my eyes fully, I looked around the room. I was at medical center. I looked around and saw monitors and other divices, I had no idea what they where or what they did. To my right I saw Steve, Ben, and Notch all talking all of them blurry for my eyes were still getting use to my surroundings.

"Do you know when he'll wake up? He's been out for days." I heard Steve say nervously.

"I'm sure he'll wake up soon. We just need to give him time. He fought for hours, I think he deserves some rest." Ben said trying to calm him down.

"I'm not saying he doesn't, I'm just saying that he's been out for a while. I just hope he's ok."

I grunted as I tried to sit up. The pain wasn't as bad, but it was still their. My head was throbbing and my whole body was sore. They all looked at me and walked over to the bedside. "God, my head hurts. How long was I out?" I asked rubbing the side of my head.

"About four days. Honestly I thought you would never get up." Ben said nudging my arm, sending a fresh wave of pain through my body. I winced and my head throbbed harder. "Sorry, man. Didn't relize how much pain you were in until the medic said you were lucky to still be alive."

"It's alright. Just hurts a bit." Steve looked at me with relief. "How are you doing?" I asked, trying to get my mind off the pain.

"I'm fine. I was worried that you wouldn't wake-up, but other than that I'm alright."

"Brine, I'm glad your awake. How do you feel?" Notch asked.

"I've been better. Aside from the throbbing head and my whole body being sore, I'm good." I said trying not to yelp out in pain as the medic was checking the more serious wounds.

"That's good to hear. Do you remember what happened before you passed out." Notch asked.

I thought for a moment and slowly nodded. "It's a bit blurry, but I can tell you the main idea of what happened."

"Well, after you passed out, we brought you here and got you patched up. Not much happened after that, we brought you in for some tests. We discovered something amazing." Notch reported.

"What did you find?" I asked trying to sit up a bit more, ignoring the pain filling all my limbs.

"Well, we discovered why you have white eyes. While we were experimenting with the formula to create people, one of the scientists acidentally put in a formula that we were still testing on. Well, we think that's why you have white eyes and-" Notch explained and stopped, he seemed to have something on his mind.

"What's wrong? What did you find?" I asked more worried than I have ever been before.

"Well, it just so happens that the formula he put in you had a 50% chance of killing you within a week..."

"And the other 50?" Steve asked. Notch had clearly not told this to him yet.

"Well, it also had a 50% chance of giving you a power greater than anyone has ever seen. But you don't seem to show any sign of having that power, other than your eyes turning white, and when they started to glow before the battle."

"Wait, Brine could have powers? What kind?"

"Well, he would be ten times stronger than he is now, he would be able to teleport, he would be impossible to defeat, and who knows what else he could do."

I stared in shock as Notch rambled on about what powers I could posses. Then I suddenly remembered my dream. Oh my god, He was right. I am him, I will become Herobrine. "Oh my god."

"Brine are you ok? You seem a bit, off." Ben stated.

"Huh? Oh, yah, I'm fine. Just a bit tired that's all." I lied.

"Oh, well then we'll leave you to rest. See ya later." They walked out of the room and I laid back down in the bed. Is it true? Do I really have powers? I rolled over on my side, ignoring the pain, and dozed off.

Hours later I woke up again. I sat up slowly and looked around the dark room. All the lights were off, but I could see a soft glow illuminating from somewhere. As I looked around the room for the sorce of the light, it followed. I relized that I was immiting the light. A bit freaked out, I stood from the bed and walked out of the medical center. The long white halls were dark and I was alone, or so I thought. I could feel a presence behind me and turned to see something strange. I thought I was seeing things, until I relized that what I thought I saw was actually there. I could see the shadow of a person, it had bright red eyes and had and evil yellow smile. Fear started to build in my chest as I turned around to continue walking, but when I turned my head it was standing right in front of me. I jumped back and hit the wall. Pain shot through my spine and throat as the thing grabbed me by the neck.

"Hello, Brine, so nice to finally meet you." It said with a voice like ice.

"How...the hell...do you know...my name?" I managed to choke out.

"I know almost everything. Notch made sure of that." It said.

"Who...are you?" I could feel the air leaving my lungs and gasped for a breath that I thought I might never get.

"Who I am doesn't matter," He released me and I fell to the floor, on my knees gasping for air. "What matters is what you'll become."

"What do you mean 'what I'll become'?" I asked looking at him. My eyes had ajusted to the dark, and I saw he had black skin and wore a white hoodie with dark blue pants. His glowing eyes seemed brighter and his yellow smile seemed threatining.

"I said what I mean, Brine." It said kicking me in the side. I yelped in pain and fell to the ground. "What, did the almighty Herobrine get hurt?"

Something in mind clicked as he said that. "What did you just call me?"

"The almighty Herobrine." He repeated.

I remembered what I heard the man, Herobrine, said in my dream. You need to keep your guard up, I don't know when he'll strike, but he will, and when he does, your life will be changed forever. I looked at the man in front of me and he smiled down.

"Something wrong? You seem like you just need someone to relive you of your pain." He said through gritted teeth. He raised his foot about to kick me again, but I rolled over just in time, and saw the numbers 303 printed on the back of his hoodie. "Oh, come on, Brine, I just want to have a little bit of fun." He said vemonosly.

I felt something inside me snap, I stood up and I grabbed him by the throat, pinning him against the wall. I saw the fear and shock on his face. Something about that made me smile. "Oh, come on, I just want to have a little fun." I said mocking him. He looked at me with pure hate and punched me in the gut. I stumbled backwords but surprisingly felt no pain. He looked to see if he caused any damage, but, to his horror, I stood before him, completely unharmed.

"Wh-what are you? H-how are you?" He stammered backing away from me.

I felt the smile on my face grow wider. "I am what Notch made me to be. Countless obsticals I had to face, and someone I have, and always will have to protect," I walked forward until I was less than an inch from his face. "I am Brine, know the name, fear the face." I spat walking away from him. I heard someone gasp in the shadows and looked around. I saw no one so I kept walking. I didn't know where I was going, or what I was going to do. But I was going there, and I was going to do it, or I was gonna die trying.
