Chapter 6
Midday. It was the middle of the day and Roman was no closer to finding Virgil than he had been before killing the dragon. He was actually a little more hurt than he had originally thought.
"Shit." Roman hissed as he tried to stand up again, his head feeling floaty. He'd been trying to walk for about two hours but every time he stood up, his head started to spin. Shaking his head half-heartedly, he took a couple of stumbling steps forwards and, finding that he could actually walk, started to move a little faster. Then, he started running.
There was a dull pain at the back of his head but Roman ignored that as he sped through the forest. The important thing was to get to save the other prince, not to save himself.
Roman stopped suddenly, imagining exactly what Patton would say to that.
"Roman, you need to stop over-exerting yourself! You're spreading yourself too thin, Kiddo. Stop trying to save everyone and save yourself for once."
Roman shook the thought away, along with the image of Patton's hurt face. He had been a selfish prick once before and he wasn't going to be one again. There was no point. It brought no one any joy. A dizzy spell hit him, causing him to stop and clutch at his head.
The dizziness turned to pain which disappeared as soon as it had come. Lifting his slightly bent head, Roman took another step forwards only to be hit with another wave of pain. This was a different pain to the type he had felt before. This pain was sharp and bright and like the pain you might feel if you got a paper-cut. But the pain he had felt from his head injury had been dull and grey, like a bruise. There was only one explanation Roman could find for this sudden change.
"Witches."
Yeah, I'm leaving the chapter here. Sorry it's so short, my motavation's disappeared.
Bye,
Queenie
