Chapter 9

I hope this one isn't too bad. I'm pretty sure it's 80% better than the last chapter so, yeah... Bye for now! And DisneyKaye, did you have to tag me?

Piper's POV

I wildly looked around not sure where I was. I saw Carter, passed out on the floor. I happened to have a rock in my pocket so I threw at him checking if he was actually alive. Unfortunately he got hit in the face by the rock but on the bright side, he woke up! "Ugh, why'd you do that for?" He asked getting up.
"To wake you up," I explained
"There are better ways to do it," he handed me my rock.
"What's the last thing you remember?" I asked.
   "Talking Setne,"
"Oh, so that's who that guy was,"
   "Yeah,"
There was an awkward silence. "Where are we?" I asked.
"Probably some sort of prison made by Setne," Carter said.
I looked around. It was just a plain room made of all what seemed to be metal. There were no doors, no tunnels, nothing. "Jason and the others must be close," I said.
Carter felt the wall. "Huh," he mumbled.
   "What?" I asked.
"It's just that, this isn't any type of material I've felt before," he said. Suddenly, there was a loud boom, then a thump. Carter had backed away quickly. Where he was standing in between was the gap between the horn like shapes. "Umm, what is that?" Carter squeaked.
   "A monster," I whispered.
The thing charged again by the sound sound of the loud thuds. The monster had broke the wall with it's horns making two marks on the wall. I could now see what it was, the Minotaur. "Oh no," Carter whispered.
We were now all the way on the back wall. The Minotaur charged towards the two holes and ripped the wall into one big hole big enough for him to fit through. It looked at us then, charged. At the last moment, both of us ran out of the bull's way. "Go!" I said pointing towards the hole.
He nodded and ran out, I followed, the Minotaur did not, his horns were stuck in the wall but not for long.
We were now in maze built with the same material as the room we were in before. The Minotaur now came out of the room and charged to us. I looked at Carter. "Go!" I told him (again)
We ran through the hall, not looking back. After a while, I looked back, the Minotaur was catching up. "Go faster!" I told Carter.
We sped up. I felt for Katropis but remembered that I never bring it to school. "Do you have a weapon?" I asked Carter
"Well..." He started. "I'm not sure if it'll work against that,"
"As long as it's a weapon, it'll work," I said.
We started slowing down, tired. The Minotaur stopped running and rubbed the floor getting ready to charge. "Hurry!" I told Carter.
    "Okay," he said.
He closed his eyes. "What are you doing?" I asked
   "Shh!" He said.
He reached down and suddenly his hand disappeared. It reappeared with a curved sword. "Why's it bent?" I asked.
"That's how Egyptian swords are!" He said.
The Minotaur started to charge, as soon as it got close enough, Carter swiped the sword and the Minotaur exploded into golden dust. "Well, that was easier than I expected," Carter said putting away the sword and wiping his hands.
Suddenly, the golden dust started reforming into the Minotaur again. Now, there were two. "Oh come on!" Carter said. Getting out the sword again.
   "There's only one Minotaur!"
   "Then how are there two?"
   "I don't know!"
We started running again. I heard footsteps coming from the end but anything was better than this. We got to the end of the hall where the turn was and found... A very confused looking Jason. "Piper!" He said, then he saw two Minotaurs. "Oh..." He said getting Gladius.
I stood behind Carter and Jason as they started to fight the Minotaur. I felt bad not doing anything but, there wasn't much I could do. Jason ducked as the Minotaur attempted to punch him. I heard more footsteps coming down the hall, it was two cyclops. "Oh great," Jason muttered.
I really wished I had a hairbrush right now so I could be like Rachel, just like pow, pow, pow! I've been spending too much time with Leo, I thought to myself. I slowly started to back away. "Umm..." I said as the cyclops started towards me. Suddenly, a sword went right through it's chest as it exploded to gold dust. Jason half smiled at me and continued. All I did was try to avoid the monsters. Finally, we were all standing in a big pile of gold dust. It disappeared. "Well, at least we found each other," Jason said.
   "Yup," Carter agreed
"Let's get out of here just in case they come back," I said.
We started walking in silence which gave me time think. "Hey," I said finally. "Since all of us are here, do you think this means Annabeth, Leo, Sadie, and Rachel are here too?" I asked.
   "Probably," Jason said.
"I just hope their not in any trouble," Carter said shaking his head. "All together the monsters would probably be able to smell them better,"
   "Yeah..." I said
Suddenly, I heard a loud roar signaling that the Minotaurs and cyclops both had recovered. "Let's go!" I said

Annabeth's POV

   "Hurry!" I said urgently.
"I'm trying my best," Sadie said gritting her teeth
"Where are they coming from?" Leo asked.
   "Tartarus, duh!" I said.
"No, but like, how do they get into the maze?" He asked.
There was a loud explosion caused by Sadie. "I don't know!" I said.
"But you should, oh great and mighty wise girl,"
I rolled my eyes. "What if it's like how the hunger games MOVIE is like?" Leo said suddenly
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Like they create it into the maze," Leo said.
"I don't think Setne is that advanced," I said, ducking as a hairbrush narrowly missed me. "Try aiming!" I told Rachel.
   "I do," she complained.
We were being surrounded by a huge mob of monsters. The place we were in was actually a room, like a large room and on each side of the wall, there were two narrow tunnels leading each in a different path.
I slashed a cyclops and ducked as a hellhound tried to bite me. It ended up biting the cyclops. I sliced the hellhound in half and dodged the dracaena. I looked around. There were only six monsters left. Soon, we were done. "Well," Rachel breathed. "That was tiring,"
"I know, right?" Leo said. "At least we could now move on,"
Suddenly, a burst of fire shot through one of the tunnels and a large purple drakon emerged. "Oh Styx," Leo said.
"Seriously? It's all your fault for jinxing us, repair boy!" Rachel complained.
"Where's Clarrise when you need her," I muttered.
"Do we run or what?" Sadie asked.
"Try doing an explosion charm spell thing on it," I said.
The drakon started curling around the room. "Ha-di!" Sadie said towards the drakon.
A gust of dust appeared from the drakon, it looked annoyed and stopped curling. It looked it's opponent and saw us. "Now... We run," I said.
We started running for the nearest exit that the drakon hadn't blocked yet with its enormous body as the drakon's mouth started coming towards us, snapping, it's body still blocking half of the exits plus more. "Go!" I said.
We ran through (sadly) one of the bigger exits which the drakon could fit in through though just with a little extra room. We turned the corner and tried going quicker, the drakon, followed. Then, to make things even better (sarcasm), it decided to start spitting it's acid at us. Yay, notice the sarcasm?
Leo-who was in front-stopped. "What's the hold up?" I complained noticing how much the drakon's speed was increasing. "Fork in the road," Leo said.
"Let's just go a path!" I said, pushing forwards
Leo went to the left path. Halfway through the hall, Rachel said "wait! The other path was better!" She said.
"We can't go back now," I said.
She sighed. "Then I guess we'll have to take the dangerous path,"
   "What do you mean?"
We continued running, dodging the spits of acid coming from the drakon. We reached a dead end. "Ugh," I said.
The drakon had us trapped. "Hey, up there!" Rachel said pointing and jumped onto the wall on the opposite end of her. "Two on each side,"
"Hurry," I said, watching Rachel go up, higher and higher.
Leo started climbing on the other side and so did Sadie. The drakon saw me and it pure black eyes glinted. I knew what was going to happen as it opened its mouth, before it could actually fire, I jumped onto the wall and started climbing as fast as I could. A burst of fire from the tunnel (A/N: anyone thinking of The Hobbit: Decolation of Smaug right now {the movie}) came, burning the tips of my shoe, which was now a brownish burnt tint. I felt the heat, as hot as the sun burn under me. We continued climbing not looking down. When we reached the top, we finally took a look back down. The drakon looked up at us. "Ha! It can't get us!" Leo said.
Just as he said that, the drakon jumped and started climbing the wall. "Seriously Leo?!" I said.
Me and Rachel jumped over the hole and we all started running. We came to another dead end, just as the drakon crawled up. There was a hole in the ground. "Jump!" Leo said as he jumped down landing on his feet, immediately running.
We followed what he did. We ran and ran, then, there was a loud thump as the drakon plopped onto the ground and started slithering towards us. We heard footsteps from the end of the hall where we were heading. We turned the corner, started running and turned the other corner finding one Piper, a Jason, and a very worried Carter. "Guys!" Leo said. "We're all together now!"
"Yup, and let's go!" Jason said starting to run towards the corner where we just came. I held him back from going. "Whoa, unless you feel like getting killed by a drakon, I wouldn't advise going that way," I said.
   "Wait- a drakon?" Jason asked.
"Yeah, and what are you running from?" I asked.
"Now four Minotaurs and tree cyclops," Jason said.
   "Wait four- but-"
"Guys! Did you forget about the drakon chasing us!" Leo said.
"And the Minotaurs and cyclops?" Piper said.
"Well then which way do we go?" Sadie asked.
I looked both ways and decided. "Guess we'll have to face the four Minotaurs," I said
"And three cyclops!" Jason added as we started to run.
