Chapter 17
Hey, so, if you didn't know (which you probably didn't), I'm literally just copying and pasting Percy's adventure from my other book (on my other account) and changing it to fit this. That's the only reason I'm updating so much. So... This chapter is pretty long. Anyway, bye!
...
Percy's POV
I blinked and looked up. What happened, I wondered. I was in the middle of the forest, the moon was up and the sky was dark. Wait- where's Ron and Hermione? I wondered looking around. They were no where in sight. I tried to remember what had happened. First, we fell out of the train, then Hermione, Ron, and me started wandering around. Then, we Iris messaged Nico, and then, I heard a growl, and then... I tried to remember but found that I couldn't. I sighed and got up, I decided that I should try to find my way back to the tracks. I looked around, not knowing which way to go. I decided to go left. The endless maze of trees made things confusing. Suddenly, I heard a soft rustle of leaves behind me. I immediately paused. Suddenly, an arrow flew right next to my ear and hit the tree in front of it. "Oh," I heard a familiar voice said sounding bored. "It's just you,"
I turned around,"Thalia!" I said running towards her.
"Sup kelp head," Thalia said hugging me.
"Pine cone face," I shot back.
Phoebe emerged from behind a tree and scrunched her nose. "Don't touch him," she said.
Thalia let go. "What are you doing here?" Thalia asked me
"Oh the train I was on broke and I fell out with my friends and now I don't know where they are and also I don't remember most of what happened in the last two hours are so, no biggie," I said
"No biggie?!"
"Yup,"
"Well, that actually does sound like a normal day in the life of Percy," Thalia said and thought for a moment. "We should get you to camp half-blood then,"
"That would help but what about my friends? I need to find them,"
Thalia bit her lip, thinking. "Fine," she said.
Phoebe stared at Thalia annoyed. "Do we really have to help out this boy?" Phoebe asked
"Well he's one of my friends so yes, plus Annabeth would get extremely angry if we lose him," Thalia said.
Phoebe sighed. "Fine, we'll help you find your friends, just remember, you owe us," phoebe said. "We have wolves that could track down your friend's scents, they just need something to smell, have anything?"
I reached into my pocket expecting to find nothing except for riptide but found something in it. I pulled it out, it was a piece of parchment I didn't remember having.
I quickly inspected it, it was Hermione's handwriting. "Huh," I said out loud. I don't remember this,"
"What does it say?" Thalia asked.
"Dear Percy,
Find the hidden treasure before the sun rises again, rescue us from H in the land where the ice burns cold and under the x that marks the spot
-Hermione Granger" I read.
(Quick A/N: Now this doesn't make sense this part anymore to the story later but, I'll change it later. Just ignore it and pretend that it's a note that makes sense)
The whole thing looked rush. What treasure? Save them from where? Ugh this is like another prophecy! "I know right?" Thalia said.
"Wait did I say that out loud?" I asked
"Yup,"
There was an awkward silence. Then I asked "do you think the wolves could track down the scent using the paper?"
"Duh," Thalia answered
Phoebe shook her head "dumb boys,"
"Hey!" I whined.
"Let's go," Thalia said.
We started walking. After a couple minutes and a lot of walking, Thalia asked something "Whose H?"
"Oh, probably stands for Harry," I answered
"And that is..." Thalia said motioning to go on
"Harry! You know, like Harry,"
Thalia face palmed. "She means who is Harry," Phoebe said in monotone with a hint of annoyance.
"Oh, then why didn't you just say so," I said
This time, Phoebe face palmed. "Harry's just some kid that I was going to wizarding school with and then he was having nightmares about Kronos and he didn't want to join him so Harry's memory got wiped and then somehow he sleep walked and took a dip in the Styx or something and now Kronos is possessing him and is controlling Harry which is why he told Draco to whisk away all the other students so then Ron, Hermione, and me were just talking and then suddenly I noticed that there was no noise which made no sense whatsoever because we were on a train with a bunch of loud children so then we realize that all the other students on the train disappeared so then of course something else bad happened and the lights went off like in Five Nights at Freddy's which you probably don't know about so then anyway me and my friends started looking for the rest of the students but then we heard footsteps so we hid underneath some seats and overheard some important things like how people in movies did and then the people went away and then we walked to the conductors place thing and then the train stopped really quickly and a crack appeared and then the train started moving again really quick and then," I took a giant breath. "The crack on the floor grew bigger and bigger and we ended up falling out of the train and I lost my memory so... Yeah. Now I'm here" I summarized. "Hey! I remembered more things!" I said.
Phoebe and Thalia were gaping. "Umm, guys- I mean girls, we're here," I said gesturing towards the camp of all girls.
"Oh," Phoebe said quickly recovering.
"Umm, I not actually sure if boys are allowed near the camp without lady Artemis's permission," Thalia said
"Oh, so how do I get her permission," I asked.
"Be right back," Phoebe said darting towards a tent.
"Soo...." I said awkwardly. "How's life?"
"Good... I guess...." Thalia said.
I nodded. "That's good,"
We watched the camp in silence. The 2 minutes that went by felt like an hour. "Is Phoebe coming back?" I asked.
"I don't know," Thalia said.
10 seconds later...
"Oh! Is that Phoebe?" I asked
"No, that's someone else," Thalia said.
10 more seconds later...
"Hey! Is that Phoebe?" I asked
"No..." Thalia said.
10 more seconds later...
"Wait! Is that Phoebe?" I asked
"Nope," Thalia sighed.
Another 10 seconds later...
"Hey! What about her? Is she Phoeb-" I started
"Nope," Thalia interrupted
10 minutes later...
"Oh! Is that-" I got interrupted
"No," Thalia said. "For the last time, that isn't- wait, that is Phoebe!"
Phoebe walked towards us. "Artemis granted you permission to enter the camp," Phoebe said.
"Okay," I said walking forwards.
Phoebe led us through what felt like a maze of of tents. Finally, we got to the wolves. It saw me and tried to bite. I may or may not of screamed like a girl in front of Thalia and Phoebe. They just laughed at me. Phoebe pet the wolf. "Okay, give me the paper," Phoebe said.
I gave it to her. She inspected it and then put it in front of the wolf's nose. It sniffed and then looked up into the air, then it started running into the woods. "Now we follow it," Thalia said.
We ran after it. Soon, I saw the tracks. The wolf slowed down and looked both ways. Then it ran left, along the tracks. We followed. Then, the wolf turned left again and into the forest. I sighed as we came into another opening. This time, it was a cliff. The wolf looked around and walked in a circle then, it started barking at a tree. "Huh?" I said.
Thalia observed the tree closely and then knocked on the tree. It sounded like metal! I walked towards the tree and noticed some strange engravements on it. I walked around it. There was a hole on one side. I inspected it. It looked like a button, I pressed it, not knowing what was going to happen, hopefully it didn't explode, I thought. It didn't, that was the good part but the bad part was that a door opened up. Gee Percy, how could a door be bad? You may wonder but this door looked creepy, especially in the dark. The door looked dark and haunted as the now fully risen up moon shone a narrow passage of stairs leading down. It look old and rusted, there were giant bugs like spiders and centipedes crawling on each side of the wall. On the opening, there was mold and cobwebs. It reminded me of a passage into the underworld except grosser. Luckily Annabeth wasn't here or she would freak out at the sight of spiders. I wonder what she was doing. "Let's go," Thalia said slowly.
We entered the passage one at a time, trying to stay centered. If we moved one bit, we would hit the wall and all the bugs, gross.
----small time skip-----------------
We were still walking down what seemed like an endless set of stairs. "We shouldn't of helped him," Phoebe complained.
Suddenly, I saw a flickering light "it's the bottom of the stairs," Thalia whispered. "There's something down there,"
Thalia was in front and Phoebe was in back of me. We reached the end of the stairs. "Left or right?" Thalia asked quietly.
"Left," I said
"Right," Phoebe said at the same exact time.
I sighed. "Fine, right,"
We slowly moved right and turned reached a corner and turned. "Don't we have to find the 'treasure' too?" Thalia asked quietly.
"I even know what treasure she's talking about though," I whispered. "Let's just find them and get out of here,"
"But it might be important," Phoebe argued.
"Do you really want to spend more time in here then needed?" I asked
"Not really,"
"That's what I thought,"
We reached a hallway that was just rusted metal. There were four doors, two on each side. "We should check them," Thalia said.
"Umm, which one..." I said not wanting to go in.
"Door number two," Thalia said pointing to the first door on the left side.
"Okay..." I said slowly.
Thalia slowly reached towards the knob and turned. She opened the door and immediately let go of the knob. The inside was completely dark, I peered in but couldn't see anything. Thalia's eyes suddenly turned red and started screaming. "Uh..." I said not sure what to do.
"Thalia!" Phoebe said going towards her and holding Thalia's hand.
Thalia fell to her knees. She started gagging and holding her neck. "Umm," I said still not sure what to do.
"Close the door!" Phoebe yelled to me.
"Ok," I said.
I closed the door. Thalia eyes turned normal and she panted, out of breath as if she ran a marathon. "Are you okay?" I asked.
"Sure," Thalia said. "let's just try another door,"
"Are you sure?" Phoebe said raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, but this time, I'm not opening it,"
"Well I'm not either,"
I sighed, "fine, I will,"
I closed my eyes as I opened the door. When I opened them, inside the door was camp half-blood. "Huh," I said.
I walked forwards into camp. The door behind me disappeared, I didn't notice. Something wasn't right, the colors were too bold. "Guys..." I said looking behind me.
They weren't there. I looked around wildly and walked forwards into the forest. "Percy!" A voice said.
It was Annabeth. "What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be searching for your cousin," I said
"Well... A shelter found him!" She said.
I looked into her eyes. They weren't right, like it was grey but it wasn't the right shade. Suddenly, she got really pale. "Annabeth? Annie? Annabeth?" I said trying to get her attention.
Her eyes went out of focus. I backed up. She started coughing. "Annie? Are you okay?" I asked again.
Something definitely wasn't right. She hates being called Annie even by me and no matter what situation, she would correct it and say don't call me that and give you a death glare. Suddenly, Annabeth started melting, like literally melting like wax. "Annabeth!" I yelled. "Annabeth!"
She completely melted. I was sad but at the same time a little grossed out but mostly sad. "Uhh..." I said not sure what to do now.
"Percy!" I heard a voice calling. "Percy!"
I opened my eyes. It was Thalia and I was still in the dumb hallway. I got up. "I'm fine," I said.
"No one asked if you were even okay," Phoebe said.
"Next door! Your turn Phoebe," I said.
"What!? No! It's probably going to be the same thing," Phoebe said.
"We still have to try,"
"Fine,"
Phoebe walked to door number three and put her hand on door number three. Suddenly, we heard loud footsteps. "Open the door!" Thalia said.
"But-" Phoebe said
"Just do it, it might be an exit!" Thalia whispered.
Phoebe twisted the knob, took a deep breath, looked away, and opened it, not knowing what was going to happen.
